People have been complaining about the new super long brake runs on the new B&M coasters but I think everyone has missed the true reason. Isn't it obvious? These rides were never meant for Canadas Wonderland and Dollywood, they were meant for the moon where there is no air resistance and rides lose speed slower so they need longer brake runs. It all fits.

There are currently a number of high profile parks being built in China right now, Like me one you may have missed is the smaller “Titan Ark” park being built in Longyan. I came across some construction shots yesterday. It appears the park has a number of flat rides and features at a new BSA suspended looping coaster. Although the park plan on their website shows an Intamin Mega-Lite coaster there is currently no sign of it on the construction site and it could just be a place holder on the map. Construction shots of the park can be seen below. Good placement for an invert... Even if it is a BSA Suspended Looping Coaster Disko style ride in the background For some reason BSA always paint their rides post installation Source: VHcoasters

Some park schematics have popped up and a full sized image of the parks concept art. Click the links for larger versions If you look at the schematic you can seen the location of the missing Launched X-Car in the top left of the park. This is the same one that was expected to be at Knight Valley this year. The concept art makes it look like this ride is undercover. The other 4 coasters are all visible around the rest of the park as well. http://vhcoasters.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/octmap1.jpg http://vhcoasters.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/octmap2.jpg Source: http://www.vhcoasters.com

Victory Kingdom China Construction

^^ The info on the site suggests intamin rather than vekoma. It mentions a swiss company and that it will be launched (the vekoma version uses a chain lift) Here's what Google translation has to say on the subject. -

Concept pictures have appeared on a Chinese site which suggest the new U-Shaped coaster described in the press release for Triumph Valley may well be a new unseen larger version of the established Intamin Half-Pipe model. The new model appears to have larger trains and the spikes have been bent inwards to provide two beyond vertical drops. Source: http://vhcoasters.com/ -
THis site has a whole load of new pics http://user.qzone.qq.com/314653585/photo/4f4d712d-4466-4923-8a0c-ab562d6ce96e/#!app=4 Click the link above and scroll to the last album for a ton more. The site does have a rather annoying flash thing going on but click the 2nd icon in on the top right to go back to a normal view.

A bit of an update on this park shows construction of several new rides and some interesting concept art. Not sure what this tower is but I assume given the positioning it is either the Maurer Sky Loop or whatever the tower at the far end of the boardwalk is in the next photo. Some awesome looking themeing here but does anyone know what that tower at the end of the boardwalk is? This image shows the new S&S launched coaster is a mirror image of the new Bullet Coaster at the Happy Valley in Shenzhen and also shows the parks Vekoma Mine Train with some very odd themeing in the bottom right. ^^ Ah thats awesome. I have just purchased a Canon 500D but currently only have the stock 18-55mm lens kit. Planning on getting a EF100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM Lens before January as I also have a trip to Shanghai (Happy Valley + World Joyland), Harbin (Ice Festival) and Seoul (Everland + Lotte World) booked. However its such lenses are perhaps a bit beyond my price range just now :S -

Excellent pictures. If you don't mind me asking, which camera do you use? I still can't decide if the new paint job on Dragon is the most hideous or most amazing thing I've ever seen. I think it might somehow be both. -
The latest concept are of Triumph Kingdom currently being built in China show one of the new coasters in much more detail and although it's worth keeping in mind it is just concept art it looks like Xcelerator is getting a sister ride in China. The new concept image for the park shows the rocket at the front of the park near the entrance Construction of the park itself has moved forwards quickly, while much of the entrance area already complete there is still much work to do in the other areas of the park. The first coaster, a Chinese Spinning coaster is already complete but there is currently no sign of the Rocket or the 3rd coaster (Currently thought to be an S&S Free Fly) Source: http://vhcoasters.com/

Afraid I've got very little in the English Language. Doesn't seem the minor Chinese parks get much english coverage unless they are near Hong Kong, Shanghai or Beijing. I admit I'm basing Happy Valley Wuhan's date off of recent pictures taken in August that can be seen here. The Wooden ride is up but everything else has a long way to go and I can't see it opening any time soon. http://bbs.cnhan.com/thread-16694641-1-1.html Zhigao Animation Park is listed as opening next year on the RCDB http://rcdb.com/10134.htm There are some construction shots which show its progress here http://www.mxrb.cn/www/content/2011-08/17/content_1074297_2.htm There are some pictures of Triumph Kingdom here http://vhcoasters.com/ looks like that Triumph Kingdom may open later this year if they get a move on

Hey Larry Happy Valley & Zhigao Animation Park are both definitely 2012 opening. Zhigao Animation Park is in early stages of groundwork and should be open next summer according to the Chinese news. Happy Valley has one the coasters on built (High Five) and the other 4 are on site but there is still a long long way to go.

Hey guys Here's a list of what I believe is opening in China in 2012. New Parks Happy Valley Wuhan (5 Coasters) Triumph Kindom Wuging (3 Coasters) Zhigao Animation Park (1 Coaster) Rides and Attractions Ocean Park Hong Kong - B&M Floorless and Mack Mine Train Changjiang Water World - BSA Moto Coaster I think the S&S 4D Coaster at China Dinosaur Park is due to open late 2011 but it's going up really slowly.

Behemoth & Leviathan
Gutterflower replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The examples that come to my mind are La Ronde adding an SLC when they already have a B&M Inverted, Brean Leisure park adding different Wild Mice in 2004, 2006 & 2009 and advertising them as "New" every year. Ocean Park adding a 2nd sit down Looper None of these hold a candle to 2 B&M mega coasters in a row though. -
Hey guys I've been looking for information about parks around Shanghai during January, As far as I can tell they don't really have an off season as such during the winter. I'm thinking mainly of visiting Happy Valley, Action Park and the new World Joyland. Do any of you guys know if the parks are indeed open year round? Thanks in advance Cheers Dave

TR: Brean Liesure Park, UK
Gutterflower replied to 89James89's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ahhh Brean used to be my local park but I haven't been in years. They used to have a couple of kiddie rides and a standard pinfari where shockwave now is. Good to see it's still going strong.
