  1. I shall be in Shanghai next month so I'm hoping to try out Fireball if i can get past the apparently amazingly lengthy lines I shall let you know how she's holding up.
  2. ^ I believe that to be mostly the case. The drop is said to be straight and there is apparently a high speed curve leading into the loop, beyond that the layout is the same.
  3. The ride has started testing More pics here http://vhcoasters.com/ and http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kw=%B9%FD%C9%BD%B3%B5
  4. Theres a new model now including the proposed winter olympics venues, new shopping malls and Formula 1 track. Yeah the coasters still look really unrealistic but the park is expected to get a GIB and a Mack Launched coaster. They have also released a promo video which can be seen here And for a ton of pics of the venues, malls and F1 track check below Source: http://vhcoasters.com/
  5. That's a bit harsh on Raging Bull. B&M do seem to like their O&B but they are almost all well respected if not well loved rides so it clearly works for them. Now I just have to get out there and ride one of them :S
  6. Certainly interested. one of those bags had chocolate in it, who wouldn't be? Great picture reviews guys. Love the GCI man bags and its interesting to see how various companies portray themselves at these events. The Apple - B&M comment seem very apt, Would love to see a B&M store concept.
  7. The official teaser video is up. that is some view from the top of the lift.
  8. The park has released a number of promotional construction images. The most interesting of which shows a Mack Style Super Splash (Can anyone confirm its a knock off or is it a mack?) and there are some pictures of the two Golden Horse rides we already knew about Source: http://vhcoasters.com
  9. It seems the Vekoma GIB is back with vengeance. After the ride unexpectedly showed up at Jin Jiang Action Park in China earlier this year it seems Vekoma have sold another model to the brand new Sochi Park in Russia. (Source: http://coastersandmore.de/rides/achterbahnneuheiten2012/achterbahnneuheiten2012.shtml) The park is being built for part of the 2014 Winter Olympics and is expected to open for the 2013 season and will feature 6 themed areas and a 35 rides. The official site is already online (although in limited form) and can be found here. http://sochi-park.ru Below are a couple of concept and model images I’ve dug up from the web. Source: http://vhcoasters.com/ It seems a little random that we went 9 years without a GIB and suddenly we have 2 more to play with. Not that I'm complaining. I think they are great rides.
  10. Well the first major coaster to be built on site is neither a rocket or an Impulse.... Unfortunately its an uninspiring choice we have seen throughout China recently. Not sure if it is a Golden Horse or Vekoma model though. More pics here http://vhcoasters.com/
  11. ^ Not entirely sure. I don't really hold much stock in that record myself. Although I guess the Chinese will hold the record by the end of the year whichever way you look at it with the 11 Inversion Coaster going up. Looks like the ride is almost completed. The layout looks similar although not exactly the same as the previous models. The turn around looks pretty steep too. Plenty more pics here http://vhcoasters.com/
  12. Construction Continues. It does look remarkably similar to the other 2. I can't believe they chose almost exactly the same colour scheme... I wonder why. Source: http://www.vhcoasters.com
  13. This bit suggests the drop will be different at least which could account for the extra length and height.
  14. It's actually 10ft taller and 100ft longer (ish) than Colossos so it sounds like it might be bit more varied in it's inversions. Thinking about it, a colossos clone would be an odd choice with Terra Encantada and Monte Makaya a little way away.
  15. ^^ hey GigaG, yeah that's me. I do a lot of research for the RCDB where I can but I can obviously only send the RCDB pictures that I took myself. Unfortunately the pictures in this thread don't fall under that category. But I shall but back in China in Jan so perhaps then.
  16. Some great pics in there. Fire Whip is still the best looking SLC in the world in my opinion. The painting on the support work is superb.
  17. Still no sign of the 11-Inversion Coaster. But further to the comments about the SLC being painted after construction, here are the actual colours.
  18. Hey. Yeah its lost in translation. Amusement Park would be a better translation.
  19. I managed to miss this news story last week (the accident occurred on the 6th) but I've just come across a whole host of articles on it. What was meant to be a happy family reunion turned into a tragedy last week when a 10 year old boy died at West Park in Wenzhou, China. The accident occured on the parks river rapids ride when the boy fell into the water and became trapped in the rides conveyor belt lift which brings the circular rapids boats back to the station. A roughly translated news story from the Chinese site WRZB can be read below. The ride was swiftly closed down following the accident and the river channel drained of water. My heart and deepest sorrow goes out to the boys family and friends. It's always difficult to read and write about accidents at theme parks and its tough to get the whole story about any incident especially when all the news is in Chinese. However it does sounds like a tragic accident. Can anyone identify the manufacturer of the rapids? Pictures of the ride and a the accident scene can be seen below. Source: http://vhcoasters.com/
  20. Anyone else think that the drop on the SLC is a bit special? I mean it looks like it has a massive kink in it.
  21. ^^ thats pretty much the gist of it. I wrote a short guide to the Chinese Rip Off SLC market here http://vhcoasters.com/chinese-slc-guide/ I'm going to have to update it with this new company though. I found loads more pics of the SLC the other day but the site is down at the moment Theres a few rubbish ones below.
  22. Afraid I've found nothing yet. This pops up on a few sites. I do have more pictures of the SLC. I shall sort them out and put them up in a sec
  23. ^ For some reason all 3 of the Chinese companies that produce this layout paint the rides after they have been built. I imagine the coat of paint will be added soon. (the website suggests it will be Red with blue supports)
  24. The parks suspended looping coaster is made by the same firm and it has already been copnstructed. Its a rip off of the BSA and BJA suspended loopers we have seen pop up all over China... However it somehow manages to look even more painful... Just look at that transition.
  25. I ate something dodgy at a seafood place in Orlando and as a consequence had to miss out on riding the Hulk at IOA the next day... spent the day being very very ill at my hotel room while my family enjoyed the park.
