How much do you use Twitter?
TheoB replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I prefer to use Instagram and while its not a 'texty' style of social network I like how visual it is, which is probably quite good for someone who blogs rollercoasters since it is very helpful to see what you talk about, (and all the other food stuff!) -

I never knew Krake ran with so few trains, Oblivion literally has like 5 trains stacked in the brake run always and definitely runs more than 2 on quiet days. That kind of shocked me. -

If you haven't been before and aren't going for a while this is completely the wrong idea. Try and wait stuff out an I recommend visiting Swarm later on as it gets the morning crowd. Ride Colossus and Saw first they are the lowest capacity coasters. If your not visiting again for while getting fast tracks are 100% worth it. We will be there October 15th, saturday. Therefore I expect fastpass to be handy. I gonna buy it for sure. Just don´t need to throw away money for just simple sleepover, that´s something i would like to save money on. Your definitely going to need fastpasses, your going during Fright Nights which basically means huge queues for everything. on the other hadn the park is open till 10pm! -

Its Formula Rossa I don't think Furius Baco is an accelerator anyway on their website its listed as a wingrider. - Ghostrider is about 120ft. How many coasters are located at Europa Park?

A lot of those things will be replaced anyway almost definitely. Its almost definitely going to have new brakes, trains and Dodonpa has no clearances! modifying the station wouldn't be too hard either. -

They only use two different scenarios at the moment. On the first part there is either a homeless man or a lost girl. I heard that the other ones are being added next year (also known as not ready) -

How Silver Dollar City didn't make this list, I'll never know. And how the hell Blackpool is there. Because its a nice, traditional park that has a lot of history and is very well known and liked. I honestly prefer it to Thorpe and Alton at the moment, not because the rides are better or anything but because you can ride everything multiple times even on the busiest days whereas at Thorpe for example you ride like 8 things on an average weekend/school holiday. Alton is kind of on Blackpool's level but it has something that can't be found in large quantities anywhere else in the UK, airtime! -

Your trying to tell me at the UK's Thrill Capital that has had 5 coasters between 2002 and 2012, a coaster every 2 years - will have a gap of 8 years. You have got to be joking. No ones joking about that, all Merlin parks seem to be on a plan which includes a major investment every 4 years, and although this changes from time to time due to different factors, they do seem to be sticking to it. It used to be 3 years between but that's now changed. Merlin count DBGT as Thorpe's Major investment which following the plan has come 4 years after The Swarm, so unless things change slightly then they are certainly set to go around 8 years without adding a major coaster with their next coming at around 2020. As i said though, they could potentially change this plan slightly for Thorpe if they wanted to add one before then. While this logically makes sense I think that 2018/2019 is a lot more likely because honestly while DBGT is a major investment it just has no rerideability which rollercoasters do have for me and the general public. I mean I went with my friends to Thorpe and they all just said it was good but they would prefer to just go on a coaster as its more exciting. I honestly can't see myself going back onto that incredibly mediocre ride unless the queue is 30 minutes or less. -

I don't think Merlin would invest in another flying coaster, I am a big fan of the likes of Starry Sky Ripper - it looks incredible however with Air being the only flying coaster in Europe it would be unlikely for another to be added, even if it was added VR would have to be included for it to compete with Galactica but they already have DBGT. A GCI/RMC/GG coaster would be a much better fit or something else thats airtime orientated. Thorpe Park have a lot of types of coaster and this is by far the biggest gap. -

Good idea, I have heard that DBGT operated all day today without a single brakedown so if you wish to ride it then around now is a good time! -

Sure DBGT was a very big investment but they have to invest it has been a Public Relations nightmare I mean it was closed for half of the school holidays. Tussauds owned Chessington and Thorpe Park when Samurai was bought, however it was moved by Merlin. -

Seatbelts often depend on the ride remember, like Diamondback has seatbelts but Shambhala doesn't. I don't see seatbelts coming though based on that as if possible by default PortAventura don't add seatbelts. -

While I have seen this I wouldn't say its confirmed, the dimensions of Olympia Looping according to the Olympia Looping website are 86.5m x 38.5m where as the attraction on there is 85m x 36m. It is very close but this space is a couple of metres smaller which would cause issues. I do trust airgates as it is a big website but there is still no actual proof, just thoughts. I sure hope it does come though, much better than the Schwarzkopfs I have been on; Engima and Raptor Attack! http://www.olympialooping.de/ <-- Website -

I had a quick look at the other rollercoasters, the only thing close in size is Alpina Bahn honestly, or the double wild mouse! A pinfari like Alpine Thriller is around half the size! -

I have seen this too however I feel like they don't want to ruin the surprise, honestly the size of the plot of land right in the middle of the thrill area indicates it, however even if its not Olympia Looping, Alpina Bahn or Test Trecke are also very impressive. -
*I know there is literally another olympia looping thread a couple of posts under this but it didn't feel relevant so i made a new thread* I have found the Winter Wonderland 2016/2017 planned map. As it is the 10th anniversary they seem to have wanted something VERY special as there appears to be a plot with the name 'New Attraction - TBC' followed by '85m x 36m.' These dimensions do appear to be incredibly close to the size of Olympia Looping which is owned by Schansteller Barth. credit - westminster borough planning portal

Mirabilandia Discussion Thread
TheoB replied to momo1tx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hello, I decided here was probably the best place to post this really instead of Ask Alvey because as far as the park pages/searches go Robb and Elisia haven't been there since 2012. I am planning on visiting Mirabilandia during the summer school holidays. This post is mainly aimed at people who have been there since 2013 (I believe) or know a lot about the park. 1. How busy does the park get during the school holidays? Is it like 1 hour+ queues on everything or like 30 on main rides and coasters? 2. Are there single rider lines on any of the major coasters or other rides? I can see why Divertical and iSpeed wouldn't but does Katun have it or for example the giant flume as they are four across seating? 3. What is up with the new fastpass system at the park? I saw the rave reviews about the vPass qbot thing, is the new fastpass a straight to the front deal like the vPass or do you join at a merge point in the main queue? 4. Is there any other tips I should know and do they do early openings/late closings if its busy? Any general ride order aswell? Thanks in advance, Theo. -
Some pointers from trips I've done: - figure out your budget (both time and money) first and then work out how many parks you can reasonably visit. If you can't squeeze everything in the one trip, don't stress. Those parks will almost certainly still be around next time. - sharing accommodation and car rental costs with someone else is an easy way to save money. - if you're visiting a few parks in the same chain a season pass could be good value, especially if parking is included. - staying onsite is awesome if it works with your budget. But if you're paying a premium to stay at the park make sure you leave yourself some time to enjoy the resort! - it should go without saying but do the obvious stuff like checking park hours before you leave. Maybe ride closures too - if Expedition GeForce is scheduled for maintenance you will probably want to visit Holiday Park on a different day. - keep some room in your itinerary in case of bad weather or other unforeseen events. Nothing wrong with having a sightseeing day in there to help break it up. Hope this helps! - Yes I am only planning on hitting big parks really and spending a day to get the big rides done really - I was thinking about this and maybe this would happen - Walibi maybe? I have a merlin pass but its onky like a discount for parks in europe I believe? - I had a look on Holiday Park's website and it doesn't say anything about ride closures on soecific dates. Will there be a maintenance calender closer to the time? - Yes I was thinking about adding extra days to split maybe if I have two busy parks in a row so if its busy I get to do everything
