  1. Thanks for those links Robb. I can see that the Scandi tour is a lot more expensive (mainly due to some added extras and lots more coasters from smaller parks. I was thinking that the 2012 one would of suited me more because it focuses around Germany and the nearby countries. The price tag is a lot less than I expected and my current savings I have make me a 1/5 of the way there. It turned into a bit over £1300 which is very surprising and great value for money! If they started back up I would definitely consider it but now I would like to ask people how much solo/small group tours have costed in Europe?
  2. So I have been thinking about starting to save up either for a TPR trip if they return or my own trip and was wondering about the cost of things. I live in the UK so if I went to the US its about £500 each way or £100 each way for eurotunnel plus to Germany probably as France isn't that good for parks. Then I would go to a park a day (maybe two at Europa) which would be £30-£50 to get in, £20 per day hire car OR trains buses etc and £20-£30 for a cheap hotel. Then adding on extras maybe an extra £20 a day or maybe more. However I was wondering how much TPR trips would cost because it may end up cheaper if I save up planning for that. When I say a TPR trip I mean minus flights from the US. If i was to do a trip my first one would definitely be a European trip with Liseberg, Holiday Park, Walibis, Europa, Phantasia and Heide etc. Questions now - 1. How much does a TPR trip cost normally for 10-15 parks included minus the flights? 2. How much does an own trip cost normally for 10 park minus flights? 3. How much does an own trip cost normally for 10 parks minus flights but for a group of 4 or 5? This isn't really fully ask Alvey, especially for the 2nd and 3rd question other people's opinions would be great!
  3. Hero - Flamingo Land
  4. Zierer by a longshot SLC or TOGO
  5. I've heard the US ones are like this too, but I can't enjoy The Swarm at Thorpe Park. Its absolutely forceless and incredibly dull and Furius Baco absolutely destroys it despite the roughness and its one of the few wing coasters that actually use the wing effect well (Swarm does too but its dull) The main problem with it is the trim under the plane wing as that really slows it down and the heavy trains. The only good looking wingcoasters are Parrot coaster and Thunderbird I think, plus Flug Der Dæmon and Gatekeeper look alright.
  6. The only ride I have marathoned is 19 times on Chessingtons spinning ship plus a mini Marathon on Vampire with 6 nonstop rides. I could have done a Marathon on Furius Baco too - not because it was empty but I was on my own so after I got off i just filled an empty seat however we had to go so I only did it twice. UK parks are always a bit busy even on quiet days I guess.
  7. Blue Fall has a fake drop where you drop around 25ft, slow down then drop the rest. I wish more drop towers did this!
  8. Garet I was just wondering what suspended coasters have you been on? By the way I really like your Korean Park updates because the amount of money that is spent on them matches not even Disney parks except on occasional years.
  9. It reopened around 3/4 weeks after the incident
  10. I'm not sure why people keep bringing up The Smiler. The accident was NOT the ride's fault and had nothing to do with the quality of the ride or the ride being a "mistake." The "mistake" was on the part of the operations. From what I understand, Smiler has been VERY popular up until that incident. It is very popular with the GP the queues are always huge however I feel there aren't enough trains on it and it definitely needs duel loading/seperate unload area. Not like Oblivion overkill but just something to improve the capacity. The 2 hour queue for it every time I have been (2013+2014) on weekends is very annoying as its not that good and I heard theres this B&M world class Invert at the other side of the park with a walk on queue! The thing with smiler is that its queue is triple most of the other rides queues (double Ritas) so its not really worth riding as it isn't really that great. Until the accident while it wasn't that good the GP absolutely loved it despite the problems but after the newspapers I would expect a 30 minute queue tops for the whole of 2016 probably.
  11. Arrow-Vampire(new) B&M-Nemesis Inferno Giovanola-None Intamin-Stealth or Colossus Schwarzkopf-Raptor Attack RMC-None Gerstlauer-Saw: The Ride or Falcon(Duinrell) Zierer-Caterpillar or Flying Frog(Paultons) Zamperla-Hero Togo-None Vekoma-Velocity Premier-None Maurer Sohne-Dragon's Fury(small chance it was Rattlesnake) GCI-None(Tomahawk at PortAventura had Millenium Flyers though) CCI-Torrente De Zeus PTC-None Mack-Flying Fish(First coaster I think)
  12. Definitely for the UK - Smiler, while the bug accident was human error it has had countless issues in the past and is a rough, badly made and not very good ride.
  13. Thorpe Park 2016 - WC16 (fails) 2017 - New trains for Colossus which have more legroom 2018 - Major investment on Slammer to keep it going 2019 - 4D FreeFly (the suspended one not flipping like Batman) on the island near Stealth and Swarm 2020 - General improvements 2021 - New small family coaster replacing Samurai and going alongside Loggers Leap and back (old train tracks area)
  14. I find Nemesis Inferno a really fun coaster to ride because it has parts of intensity but the foliage being blown around really makes it a cool experience!
  15. Saw is my favourite in the UK hwiever the newer coasters such as Swarm and Smiler aren't even in my top 5!
  16. Nemesis Inferno in 2008 I believe or maybe 2007
  17. Biggest coasters I have been on: Shambhala - Back Furius Baco - front INSIDE SEAT Dragon Kahn - Back Swarm - Front Nemesis Inferno - Back Saw - Back Middle (the inversion after the MCBR Is incredible) Colosus - Back Stealth - Front Nemesis - Back Rita - Front Oblvion - Front Air - Back Smiler - don't waste your time even riding 13 - Back My general rule is if its launched then front or not very good but good/intense coaster back
  18. Really? It looks really good and has great pacing I guess the park aren't looking after it as its only like 3 years old. I haven't been on any floorless coaster yet stupid Thorpe replace Swarm with a decent coaster!
  19. I'll just leave this here... I actually visited inside there a few years ago its absolutely empty there are just a few small shops left there. Its crazy how fast that place went bad and my father told me about the drop tower in it and he has been on it. Does anyone know where it went (trying not to go to off topic but also interested)
  20. Furius Baco - I think its better than Nemesis and Shambhala, you just have to be able to handle a *bit* of roughness
  21. Larson Superloops
  22. 1. It opened in 2003, only a year after Colossus which is probably the closest big coaster opening in a single park except when a brand new park opens. 2. It features the longest prelift of any invert (that I can think of) 3. It set the record in 2004 for the most people naked on a coaster with 28, beaten by its sister coaster Nemesis at Alton Towers however later on in the year. T-Express
  23. Vampire @ Chessington
  24. Intamin have done stuff like this in the past though I guess, and infact it happened like a week ago with Blue fire havimg that spinning car on it. It wouldn't really matter if it only went 80mph to be honest as it absolutely flys through the layout
  25. For me its probably The Smiler in 2013 around a month after opening. Not worth it, them this summer i queued for over around an hour for Goudruix, probably not worth it saying OzIris' single rider queue was empty all day.
