  1. 5/5 for the mack watercoaster If I've felt the game was missing anything it was definitely a water coaster
  2. Wow! All the theming looks really cool! Definitely on my to-go list for 2018. Fenix looks really cool and looks like the Helix is gonna be semi-high speed as well. The restaurant looks nice too! Hoping this will cement Toverland as a destination for older kids and young people as well
  3. "Vekkula" funhouse closing This will be the last year of operation for the parks now 56 year old funhouse "Vekkula". The park says the nostalgic funhouse will be still operational for the rest of the 2017 season (so until the 22nd of October) and the park will replace the funhouse with a new one in the following years, and for this the park has opened a survey for people to enter their favourite feature of Vekkula and their favourite memories + what features they would like to see in the new funhouse. This might be sad for some people, but most will agree that no matter how lovable and classic the funhouse is, it's very old, the paint is coming of the walls here and there and some features haven't worked for years now, so assuming the new funhouse will follow the same spirit people fell in love with, they'll surely have a winner. Another positive note about this is that a while ago there was a "leak" of an S&S-Sansei coaster modelled to go right in the spot of the parks Premier water coaster "Vonkaputous" which has been SBNO for most of 2016 and 2017, and this coaster had its loading platform around where the vekkula funhouse currently is. Does this support the idea that we're getting this coaster soon?
  4. Isn't bluefire for example known for that insane throw you out of your seat roll at the end? I mean Mack minetrains maybe are close to forceless but even those are fun as all hell Completely agree. I don't get the whole judging a coaster before you go on it, assuming to be underwhelmed and it sucking especially regarding this and twisted cyclone at sfog. (although Laff Trakk is actually a Maurer)
  5. I agree with most of the recent posts but "by far the stupidest thing" you've seen a park do seems a bit over-exaggerated. EDIT: I probably just see it differently because I've never rode it so I don't have personal memories attached to it
  6. The funny thing is I've seen countless people saying "The one in china doesn't count this is the world's first because this has tubular frames instead of square ones"
  7. I love when old models get bought again/revived
  8. A new intamin impulse? Nice to see someone buying one again was the last bought how many years ago? Over a decade maybe?
  9. Everyone has a list of parks they want to get to that may be outside their immediate market. Many do make trips outside of their market for rides they are think are worth it. For example I am in the DC metro area. I never visited Carowinds until Fury 325. I know this perfectly well, the point was that the people I explained about will go and complain about rides that they never intended on riding anyways, they just complain about it because it doesn't look as awesome on video as some other coaster they've never ridden and will never ride, plus complaining about it online gives them circlejerk points. No but seriously we are at a point where a new major coaster by a reputable manufacturer is now something to complain about. Welcome to the internet.
  10. I'd be surprised if any of the people complaining about the new coaster would ever even visit SFOG. These "internet enthusiasts" that are only enthusiasts in the sense of following news and watching planet coaster videos on youtube love to complain about every single addition possible, base their opinions on other people's opinions and in real life have visited like 3 parks in their state/country plus a disney park when they were 3 years old. Stuff like "my top 3 coasters are Intimidator 305, MF and X2" but they've never left new jersey in their life. And then they go talk about how "this will be the worst RMC" while irl they think RMC's are great just because others think they're great, not because they've been on them.
  11. So if I got this right, tl;dr Giant Discoveries accelerate too slowly, Giant Frisbees accelerate well but don't have as good air?
  12. I don't know if it's that weird really, it's not like anyone else besides us realises that the other rides had the model name tourbillon, and besides, tourbillon just means whirlwind in french which is a pretty fitting and basic name for a scrambler.
  13. Can I just say, the colour scheme is spot on
  14. ^^ Odd detail I know but is this the first park with a Zamperla Disk'o coaster that has the regular disk'o 24 seat gondola instead of the 40 gondola or the skateboard gondola?
  15. Pirate/Viking ships. Not just my home park but wherever I go.
  16. "Lack of spare parts" is Merlin for "Spare parts aren't cheap enough" as let's say if Ripsaws parts were unusable, HUSS still sells spare parts, heck they even still make the classic Top Spin!
  17. aaaaaaaaaaaaaa That downwards swoop
  18. The project gets more exciting by the day
  19. I have to be honest, I don't completely trust Gerstlauer. Yes none of this should happen and the Smiler incident was human error but if I understood this case correctly, the train just didn't stop in the station and rolled through. Which sounds a whole lot like mechanical issue rather than staff. Didn't they also have to close Gold Rush at Slagharen because they had to redo the support foundation and didn't they also have loosening bolts on their tracks a couple years back? This is a german company, I wouldn't expect them to make a lot of errors. Even if those errors are very few and far between, like it's been said many times in many threads recently, this shouldn't happen.
  20. I won't lie, the rearmost car looks odd since it's long enough for 2 rows but it just has one row in the middle of it?
  21. I'm sorry but are you seriously commenting on this forum suggesting that the manufacturers don't know what they're doing and the ride looks unsafe? Shouldn't you be on facebook?
  22. I affectionately call it gerstache. Not that noticeable during the ride but afterwards you feel it in your head.
  23. I wouldn't hate it if some other park somewhere got another one of these (HUSS still sells them but they stopped selling the very popular breakdance 1, 2 and 3???) and that'd be a less prototypey version, possibly have the ability to be a bit more intense and obviously more reliable. Because it really is a fantastic asset to have in visual value and impact.
  24. By controlled they probably meant that it isn't completely free, rather it can be slowed down and doesn't need external devices to go back to normal position
  25. Generally the steel sit down market getting a renaissance is exciting in general. I feel recently a lot of coasters have been based less on gimmicks and more and more just regular sit down coasters have been opening.
