  1. I'm still disappointed they weren't able to keep their existing log flume. I really enjoyed it and definitely think they need one. As for White Water Falls, I'm not sad to see it go at all. Plenty of parks have the same one trick pony water ride and that area is looking prime for future development.
  2. I've made a point to ALWAYS get EVERY credit in a park as long as they are open (except some kiddie coasters), however, I visited Six Flags New England last summer and was enjoying Superman, Goliath, and Wicked Cyclone so much I never got to... Flashback Gotham City Gauntlet Escape from Arkham Asylum Pandemonium It was very hard for me to pass on credits because I like to ride each coaster in a park at least once no matter how terrible it may be. I had Flash Pass Platinum and it drives me crazy that I didn't ride them, but I'm sure I'll be back at some point and I think my time was much better spent on the other much better coasters.
  3. ^I had the same luck and haven't since. It is almost always overloaded with guests. The lines are unbearably long, the play structure (while being one of the largest in existence) is very crowded, the wave pool is either crowded or closed for long periods of time for water cleaning/testing (it was like this for the majority of all my visits) and the path to Tsunami Surge forces everyone to travel along the wave pool between it and the seating area (which is also way too small). That bottleneck is one of the worse anywhere and makes it impossible to relax in your lounge chair.
  4. ^I completely agree with both of you. Hurricane Harbor is nice but very small and it really needs to be expanded. A lazy river is so ideal since the capacity in the water park is so terrible. A family raft ride would also balance out the current offerings very well. I wouldn't be against seeing a water coaster or maybe a large body slide complex either.
  5. ^Just imagine the capacity nightmare that would create.
  6. Conneaut Lake Park is an obvious choice. I love this park and when it is busy it really has a good feel to it, but when it is dead or late at night, it is super creepy. I mean the Kiddieland alone is terrifying. The clowns have no eyes ffs!!! Plus the super retro quality makes it even creepier. During Ghost Lake they use Kiddieland for a killer clown haunt and if you don't like clowns it will scar you for life.
  7. Contender for lamest... Intrimidator at Carowinds While the entire ride (other than the first drop) is probably the weakest of the B&M hypers, the portion after the midcourse brake run is so slow, very short, and anticlimactic.
  8. I pretty much completely agree with this, except I would also want to add Knoebels. That still leaves Dollywood and Silver Dollar City which for me could take the place of any of the others you mentioned. Kennywood and Lake Winnie are two other parks that I think are amazing for what they are, and part of me wants to include them, but they really can't compare across the board with the ones you mentioned. I just love classic parks and charm. Clearly I just need to stick to a top 10, because 5 is too hard..
  9. This is amazing! Really cool work. How long does it take you to paint one on average? This makes me really want a 3D printer. I'd love to do all the SFOG coasters, or even a tiny model of the entire park haha. I would definitely consider buying some models, depending on the price.
  10. I visited this park for the first time back in August and absolutely loved their entrance area. The structures themselves, the setting, the trees, the plaza once you enter, the colors, etc. I can see why it would underwhelm though because the buildings did seem very small. I was really displeased to hear they were getting a new entrance gate because the newer ones at Cedar Point and Carowinds are hideous to me. All gray and cement, little vegetation, etc. However, I will say this concept art looks FANTASTIC! I love the logo statue in the center, and the buildings themselves look much more warm that Cedar Point or Carowinds. I also like the entry on the left and ticket booths on the right. That really makes sense for this park because it is like a main street feel almost and since people enter this area from both sides, it makes sense in terms of functionality as well. I really like the layout.
  11. My method exactly except if DDD is open I will hit it once first before Goliath. Using the method you described, you can basically ride every coaster with no line even on days that end up being very busy.
  12. ^I agree, it is useless if they don't properly staff it and if they don't have efficient processes. The park REALLY struggled in the service department this past year so they desperately need to improve there. Things like the bakery you mentioned would be great. Really just adding and expanding food locations and staffing them fully would do wonders. There shouldn't be a line 40 people deep for food and if there is it still shouldn't take over an hour.
  13. I'm thrilled that we finally have confirmation of Superman having three train operation next year, even though that was pretty much confirmed when I visited a few months ago and saw the new train being put together. The confirmation that the ride will get painted is great as well. It wasn't a cracking mess like Scorcher but it was severely faded. They REALLY need to paint Scorcher this off season though. It's ridiculously ugly and is the first thing you see while entering the park. Some landscaping under it wouldn't be so bad either. I'm really sad to see The Cotton States Exposition go but after converting part of it for Hurricane Harbor and then not putting the entrance sign to the area back up over by Sky Screamer, I'm not surprised. I just hate the blurred lines between themes and that area always was well done in my opinion. Great to hear the food court will expand. They already need it and will certainly need it next year. Mixed feelings but I'm happy to see some experience and service quality improvement.
  14. What would CGA be? The estranged drug addict in the family who once had potential, lost everything, and is now slowly making a successful comeback?
  15. Oh wow that looks like a very serious large fire. Hope they get that under control and everyone is ok. According to local news no one appears to be injured but it did affect/destroy that main structure and some surrounding structures.
  16. I'm sorry, but that's just f**ked up. If that was real... I've never even thought about a twisting drop on a dive coaster and visually it just looks wrong but it seems like it would be kind of awesome.
  17. I always have trouble ranking, but mine would probably be something like this: 1. Skyrush - Insane ejector airtime which is exactly what I love most about coasters. 2. Magnum XL200 - I love the wonky classic feel it provides, the setting is insane, and the airtime is ridiculously abrupt in the best way. 3. Goliath at SFOG - I really find all of the B&M hypers to be too tame and I've been on every one in the US except for Mako, but Goliath is definitely a notch about with stronger airtime, heavier G forces in what I consider B&Ms best helix, and more whip in the directional changes. 4. Phantoms Revenge - The second drop and the airtime finale are both amazing. 5. Superman The Ride at SFNE - Really solid ride but I actually expected a bit more based on reviews. Still a great coaster and my 3, 4, and 5 spots are very close here. This list also made me realize all the best hypers are in the eastern US and the rest of the country is lacking. The west coast could really use a highly rated hyper.
  18. I wish I could bid on a few things. I think it's a great way for them to move forward but I hope they keep at least one of anything worthwhile. Their history is important.
  19. ^That happened to me before on the same ride! I used to hit my hands on leaves/branches on Mind Bender at SFOG (especially after it rained) before they really trimmed everything back a year or two ago. I also think someone could hit there hands entering the brake run cover on Great American Scream Machine. There are many rides where I worry about hitting my hands because I am 6 foot but with a tall torso and long arms. I know I could hit wood on many wooden coasters. Most GCIs concern me too. I'm sure it is an illusion most of the time, but there are certainly rides where I could hit my hand if I really tried (which I wouldn't).
  20. This looks amazing and I wasn't really expecting any more decent sized coaster announcements for 2017! I have so many reasons to get back to Orlando now!
  21. ^It probably depends on the exact age as well. For example, here in Georgia when I was a teenager they changed the law so you were charged as an adult at age 17 rather than 18, and I believe the law applies differently depending on the type of case/charge.
  22. You should be able to. I visited a few months ago and called because I couldn't decide what ticket package to get and they told me I could upgrade my one day ticket to an all weekend ticket if I chose to (either now, once at the park, or even after I spent my day at the park), so I assume the same can be done for Quick Queue. They basically made it out that all upgrades are possible. I was very impressed with the entire process/system.
  23. ^I love Britney but that picture pretty much sums up my reaction as well.
  24. ^I'm glad/impressed they were able to identify who caused the fires. I'm not sure what kind of punishment comes into play for juveniles but at the end of the day, these two kids were responsible for 14 human deaths, thousands of burned acres of forest, thousands of burned buildings, and likely dozens (if not more) of terrible deaths of both people's pets and wild animals.
