  1. I appoligize if this has been answered already, but is there any more info as to the "cause" of the accident? I know the accident was deemed to be caused by "human error", but even if someone had sent a train at the wrong time, shouldn't the blocks have stopped the second train and prevented the accident in the first place? Also, I'm wondering how Gherstlaur is taking all this? Two pretty serious accidents at parks in the past few years have involved their their rides/products. Obviously their rides are safe enough; my home park just bought a Gherstlaur flat ride for next season. However, I wonder if we'll be seeing less rides from them popping up in years to come. To be honest, I'm a little warry of riding the new flat next year after knowing some of the stuff that went on in 2013 & 15. It probably won't stop me from riding it, but it'll definetly be a little unnerving the first few goes, kind of like when the Intamin towers re opened after the superman accident
  2. That looks amazing. Saw a re-creation of it, and thought it was a joke... Guess not.
  3. Waiting for Attack on Titan season 2 next year.
  4. Check this out: Looks like an enthusiast beat RMC on this one! Apparently, this was for an engineering project. IMO: Very well done! Will be great to compare this to whatever RMC has in store for us at IAAPA.
  5. ^Is the 5 horizontal thing only for lift sections?
  6. ^Forget double ups and downs... I'd just like to see a regular airtime hill or two thrown into an invert... That's something rarely seen.
  7. Well, from experience of riding coasters (as all of us here have), the steeper the curve of a hill is, the more of a "pop" of airtime you will receive. Also, the steepness of the descending drop also can be a factor for how much airtime the riders will experience. The less steep a hill is, the less airtime you'll experience. Also, double-down hills can produce airtime as well. I hope this helps. Not an engineer by any means, but from what I've experienced riding coasters, it seems like height of the hill is also a pretty big factor. The ride in your avatar is a perfect example. The beginning few hills on Skyrider (Now freestyle, located at some random-middle-of-nowhere park in Italy ), gave mainly strong floater air. However, once the ride hit the final bunny hops before the break run, you got a couple great pops of ejector air. That also reminds me that it's not just the shape of the hill/element that affects the amount of airtime, but also where in the train you are. Looking at Skyrider again, the last two hills gave the best ejector air in the front; however, on other rides, like Vampire at La Ronde (a BTR clone), the Zero-G gives far better airtime (if you can call it that) in the back. All in all, as others on here have already stated far better than I have, there's a lot of factors that come into play.
  8. Exactly Same... Even better, an RMC launched invert... in the middle of La Ronde. That'd give the park the title of most inverts of any park anywhere (SLC, BTR clone, RMC). Check your facts bro. Dorney= 3 Inverts Talon Possesed Stinger Oh boy Kings Island: Banshee Invertigo Flying Ace Junior SLC The Bat?? It's at least a tie Dang and I thought I was being smart Well Dorney is a little different though because it's 3 of their major coasters Most full-circuit, major inverts in one park... There, fixed Anyway, back on topic, really wondering if any of the 2017 coasters will be a TREX design. My bet is that CF will build one first, or SF will put one in a park lacking an "RMC-able" woodie, along with converting one of the other major woodies at another park (the Boss at SFStL maybe?).
  9. Exactly Same... Even better, an RMC launched invert... in the middle of La Ronde. That'd give the park the title of most inverts of any park anywhere (SLC, BTR clone, RMC).
  10. Roaring aside, I've been wondering just what kind of elements these new rides will be able to do. What if we're thinking about things a little "backward"? I remember hearing an interview with an RMC designer saying that the elements on their current coasters couldn't pull too many Gs/ be too intense because the high forces would put too much stress on the ride. What if this TREX design allows them to have their stalls/rolls/step-up-underflips, along with more "traditional" elements like loops?... That'd be one hell of a ride if you ask me!
  11. trim.94936F54-4800-4D4E-AB16-FDA54F599A55.MOV First attempt at a layout in AirCoaster. Feedback welcome.
  12. My thoughts exactly!... Really hoping more parks on this side of the pond start working with Mack.
  13. Looks great. Almost reminds me of the AirCoaster App.
  14. Not only do I disagree with this, but I actually think the inverted coasters maintain their smoothness better than any other B&M coaster type. Almost all of the floorless coasters have developed a rattle, as have many of the older hypers... but I find the inverted coasters (including the Magic Mountain and Great Adventure Batman rides) to be perfectly smooth and one of B&M's best rides. The B&M Rattle is noticeable, but these coasters are all still very enjoyable. I don't mean to make it a bigger deal than it is, I'm just pointing out that I have never noticed it on any B&M invert that I've ridden. The Batman rides are perfect, I see no reason to change anything about them (or do something stupid like turn the trains around backwards... ahem) and I definitely don't see any of them being removed in the near future. Agreed.. One of the smoothest coasters I've ever done was a batman clone. Only coaster that was smoother was the Mindbender at Galaxyland. As for the rattle, it's a real issue on some other coaster types. Take behemoth at Canada's wonderland, or any of the new hypers, which had a rattle just a year or two after opening.
  15. ^Thanks for the advice... Working on a layout now.
  16. ... Gee, thats almost as dark as asking for allowing the trains to derail mid-ride to make a perfect Mindbender recreation.
  17. ^Followed you on the app, and posted on wall. If you just need time to reply, no worries, but personally think it'd be easier to just post some of the tips here. That way, other users can get some advice too. Was mainly needing help with stuff dealing with supports/catwalks/custom made scenery etc. some help with inversions would be greatly appreciated too.
  18. Post tracks, tutorials, tips/tricks, or anything else related to the mobile ride-sim here.
  19. ^Pretty new to the game... I'd have to check. Maybe someone could start an air coaster thread if it hasn't been done already? *EDIT*: User name is Canadianparkfan **EDIT** AirCoaster thread started
  20. Canada's Wonderland.... #Ziz2017 #Should'veBeen2016 #F&$@youCP
  21. ^Yes, it's an amazing app, and personally, I welcome the low graphics (takes up less space on my phone ). As someone who doesn't have much time for no limits (I only play when I have absolutely nothing to do), air coaster is great. It's just that one bit simpler, but you can still make brilliant rides (especially considering it's for mobile). Would be amazing if someone could do a series of tutorials on how to make things like station buildings, catwalks, supports, etc. (I've seen them in user created tracks, but not quite sure how to make it work). As for the other apps, has anyone tried the RCT3 port, if so, how was it?
  22. Welp, you guessed right lol. Can't agree with you (not even a little!) about Vortex. That ride is a gem! And Skyrider? While I was sad to see it go in a nostalgic kind of way, I hadn't ridden it in years and it probably would have been an honourable mention on my list too if it were still standing lol... Yup, you're backwards haha. But, to each his own! If you love 'em, ride 'em! At least Skyrider had a good mix of positive Gs and airtime (the latter of which, vortex doesn't have ) Definetly found the airtime to be the best out of any ride (never had problems with the uncomfortable seat), and (smoothness/comfort aside, was probably one of the closest things CW (or any Canadian park for that matter) had to rides like El toro and Skyrush (the latter of which also gets complaints about an uncomfortable ride experience... Yes, I know I'll be hated for saying this, don't remind me ).
