  1. Considering there is no way an El Loco is going to take up all that space. I wonder what they're going to do with the rest of the space freed up? I'm thinking mostly of where the channel that went from the station to the lift was since the El Loco is going where the splash pool was. Maybe they'll keep that part of the channel and theme it more to look like a natural river in the dome? I doubt it considering the whole reason they're removing the ride and reportedly at least a portion of the mountain is a lack of space. I just hope that the dome doesn't turn into an indoor version of a ghetto carnival without all the theming if it really does go away.
  2. All I'm gonna say is, if you're at WDW during a cheer competition, be prepared for some temporary hearing loss.....
  3. ^Part of me kinda wishes that Tatsu didn't tower so much over Revolution. But it's a great ride so I won't complain. However we'll see what YOLO coaster does to the beauty of the area. (It might not do too much because it's a little farther away from Revolution.) I'm going to miss the lagoon however.
  4. ^^It's a ride worth going back in time for. I'm trying hard to remember a coaster I like better than GhostRider when it was new. I haven't gotten on El Toro or The Voyage yet, so I'm limited in terms of experience of great wooden coasters but I'm sure it would rank among those two.
  5. Hopefully Matt Ouimet will see what a gem the coaster could be and bring it up to par. The park is wowing us already, so maybe it's not that impossible? What would they do though? A complete rebuild, an ordinary retracking (which I don't see working too well), Rocky Mountain treatment or maybe even a Rocky Mountain rebuild but it stays a true wooden coaster? We can hope. When I was on it a few weeks ago, even the prelift kicked my ass and I was in row three.
  6. Psyclone. It ruined a trip to SFMM for me because my back hurt so much. Forget Lethal Injection or the Electric Chair, I think execution by marathoning on Psyclone might actually work.
  7. I'm going to go out on a limb and say any coaster at Marineland or Lightwater Valley. Their park layouts are so bizarre.
  8. Probably YOLO coaster. Really was hoping to get to Hershey in the spring for SkyRush but decided to go skiing in Tahoe instead.
  9. I was 8 when I rode GhostRider for the first time. It was around two weeks after it opened, and even then, as an 8 year old I knew the ride was special. I'd say back then it was probably the best rollercoaster in the world, or at the very least in the top 3. My gut feeling says that I don't think we'll ever see the coaster run as good as it did when it opened. I sincerely hope I'm wrong. The way it just hurtled to "the drop" was definitely an OMFG moment.
  10. I wish they'd demo Fountainebleu, it really kills the view from Stratosphere. It's almost like the northern strip has ceased to exist. To me, it's now as much a part of the strip as the so called "South Strip" south of Mandalay Bay.
  11. I'm so glad Boomerang is losing that horrible paint job! I myself was actually quite happy with the original blue, and wish they'd go back to that color scheme with the white trains. Not that I've ever loved the ride mind you.
  12. I can't wait for the hotel! I walk past it everyday on the way to my clock-in station and this will definitely be one of the best theme park hotels in California. (I'd say the only one on par is the Grand Californian.) I've been hearing great things about the Bricks Family Restaurant in Windsor, so I can only imagine how great the one here is going to be. BTW has anyone tried the rice pudding at Legoland? It's to die for, in particular the peppermint rice pudding. Which might be the best thing I've ever tasted.
  13. Thanks for the help guys, I loved Celebrity so I'm sure I'll love Princess. Plus we're taking my 84 year old Grandma with us, so I'm not sure that this is the cruise to do anything like an Oasis class ship. I've heard great things about repositioning cruises, I'm hoping to do one within the next couple of years.
  14. What do you guys think of Princess? My family's going on a cruise this year, but they're really pulling for a Princess cruise, while I'm trying to get us to go on either Allure or Oasis Of The Seas. After three Karnival cruises I'm skeptical of anything the corporation runs. The only non Karnival cruise I've done was a Celebrity cruise and it was fantastic!!! We haven't had a destination picked out, we just know we're doing a cruise Is it weird that sometimes we pick a cruise based on the ship instead of the ports?
  15. I'll be at CP in August it looks like. So I'll take the ride for a spin then. I'm not to far away from Knotts, so I'm sure I'll ride that one first. Hopefully I can see something through all the smog.
  16. Isn't Mondial the company who is responsible for the insane drop tower that shows up at the San Diego County Fair? I think they also did the tower at Silverwood as well. It's interesting that what seems like a simple ride concept has had so many issues. I wonder if it has anything to do with weight, because the ring of seats on these rides aren't exactly tiny. I hope I get to ride one before Cedar Fair opts to remove them all.
  17. I really hope they don't take out the mountain. I think the Adventuredome would be pretty bland without it.
  18. ^Like the lawsuit between Knott's and Togo? For the life of me I can't remember the outcome of that. Back on topic, I've never been on any of the Windseekers, (I was doing an internship with Disney in Orlando when they opened.) but I've gotta imagine that they aren't nearly as terrifying and thrilling as the Star Flyers are so I don't know if I'm really missing something or not. The view has to be great and I do love the lighting packages however.
  19. I remember seeing an old Coney Island video of a really unique coaster idea. A coaster structure (track and supports) that moved and tilted in a circular fashion while the train was going through the circuit. Maybe this idea could be in the near future? It'd probably be extremely small, no more than Wild Mouse size.
  20. You know, I'm excited for the new credit. But I'm really going to miss Rim Runner. I remember going on it when I was four years old the year after the Adventuredome opened. At least to a four year old the Adventuredome, (then called Grand Slam Canyon) was awe inspiring. I remember all the old theming that the ride used to have. Watching the boats make their way through the park was mesmerizing. In some ways I wish the Dome had remained the same. But I seriously doubt that it would've been feasible financially to have such a small number of attractions. Anybody have any old pictures from the park?
  21. This is sickening. Karnival Korp should not be telling passengers how impossible it would be to accommodate them at this service considering it's for an event that almost killed said passengers. First they fail on their most important duty which is navigating the ship and it's passengers safely to it's destinations, they try to pass off the emergency as a simple power problem thus taking many innocent lives, then Karnival decides to offer the passengers 30% off their next cruise to make amends, on Costa's website they have a whole section about what great things the company is doing for the environment and now this. Klassy, klassy, klassy. The company is negligent, disrespectful, and I can't believe they have the nerve to even operate Costa after all this. Oh wait, yes I can, it's Karnival.
  22. It's great how they really seemed to put an effort into integrating the coaster with the terrain. You don't see that too much with relocated coasters.
  23. I'm so excited about this! I'm really hoping they restore the room at the bottom of the first drop, it was my favorite theming in the ride. I love the direction Knott's is going now, maybe some kind of dark ride in the KOD building isn't such a stretch after all. (Assuming they find a way to deal with the Johnny Rocket's equipment that takes up part of the old attraction's space.)
  24. When I worked the Dragon at Legoland California many years ago, we NEVER did this. However one time a couple of guests hopped over the gate and then the track to get to the exit. I wasn't near an E-stop so I couldn't press it, however I was kinda surprised my coworkers didn't. Probably because we were operating one train and it hadn't even made it a quarter of the way through the dark ride section. Maybe because I'm a little overcautious, I would've done it. That being said, I am so proud of how safe Legoland California is. Makes me feel lucky to be a Model Citizen.
  25. You know, I've been an enthusiast since I was seven years old. I became a coaster snob and treated park visits like I was visiting a museum. Then I came across Theme Park Review..........now I know how to act in parks. You're supposed to be having fun, a sort of escape if you will. Since then, instead of worrying about some crappy 1920s coaster being demolished, I only care about one thing........that the ride is fun. The videos show the true spirit of how you should act in a park. If there is swearing (like the Manhattan Express video), it is well deserved and a natural reaction. If you hear people in the videos having a good time well, the term is AMUSEMENT PARK. I love the fact that when I'm at a park I can just let go and forget about anything else except the fun I'm having. Sometimes I even act a little bit of an idiot. But who cares? These places and videos are supposed to be fun. It's that spirit and sense of adventure that TPR's videos, trip reports, and community have that make this site what it is. If someone doesn't like it, there are plenty of boring coaster sites and communities to go to. Everyone should act a little crazy when they go to parks. It's all good and fun.
