  1. ^I'm so glad to see more of these popping up! Hopefully one will come to SoCal soon, but since our ski resorts aren't exactly the biggest, I'm not holding my breath. I'd love to see one at Snow Summit or Bear Mountain. Right as you come into Big Bear there's that little FEC called Magic Mountain with an Alpine Slide, I think they'd be the most likely to add an Alpine Coaster.
  2. Steel: TTD Wood: Rattler (Pre-refurb)
  3. I gotta say I love it when a waterpark does something different than the usual themes. (tropical, Alantis, wilderness, etc) Half of me wishes that Universal Orlando was still going through with that movie themed waterpark idea, but now that they properly own all of Wet N Wild and it's land I don't see this happening. A Batman waterpark if done right could be amazing.
  4. Vekoma has been getting better lately. I'd like to see a boomerang with the same track style as Expedition Everest or Battlestar Galactica. Then I could imagine that they could be pretty great rides. Maybe they could spice things up a bit and make a new version of the sit down model (non-inverted) with a steeper tower, airtime hill instead of the vertical loop or hell take a leaf out of Gerstauler's book and replace the cobra roll with a banana roll . That being said I've had a few park visits shortened by a ride on a Vekoma coaster.
  5. Speaking of dark rides, any word on the rumored refurb of Calico Mine Ride?
  6. I should've clarified, I meant Jaguar's helix at the very end of the ride not the one after the first drop. That would leave the plaza open and the show building completely to the right of the entrance if they used the same entrance as Jaguar. Sorry for the confusion!
  7. I know this would probably never happen but..... Looking at the plot of land and it's proximity to Jaguar, if they got rid of Jaguar and kept the temple, this could be a site for a nice dark ride. The temple could be the themed entrance and the show building could extend out to where Jaguar's second lift and helix are located if the got rid of that train as well. I'm just thinking that there's got to be better use for that land than the massive station for a family coaster that has a height requirement of 48 inches. This is coming from a guy who actually enjoys the scenic ride of Jaguar.
  8. That would be open about as much as Windseeker... Did it have a lot of downtime? I was probably 11 or 12 when it closed so I don't remember too much about it.
  9. I'm another who misses Hammerhead. I would go on it almost every visit, whereas I've only ridden RipTide once or twice since it opened.
  10. Rearranging my plans to make sure I get on this next year. I retract my statement above.....We're in a "Golden Age" of incredibly high quality rides. I'd love to see what RMC would do with a terrain coaster like Boulder Dash. I know Outlaw Run is a terrain coaster, but not in the same way as Boulder Dash.
  11. Does anyone else think that with everything RMC has built/renovated along with all the other innovation happening in the industry that we are in another "Golden Age" of rollercoasters?
  12. I think that the far right slide on Python plummet looks especially thrilling with it's somewhat shorter length and longer drop at the end.. I wish they'd build one of these trap door slides out here in California!
  13. I'd ride it. I think RMC would have the best chance of making a good ride out of it.
  14. I think part of what causes the public to freak out is that many of them genuinely believe that their is some real danger on amusement rides. In my experiences as a ride op for both Disney and LEGOLAND I have had guests come ask me, "Is this ride safe?" I got this question even when I was working at TTA at MK! Of course the media knows this as the vast majority of them probably believe that amusement rides have some danger to them too. So what happens when the media senses fear? They capitalize on it, which increases the problem exponentially.
  15. I suppose that if someone did ask Vekoma to build a Hypercoaster they would. I'd imagine that they would use the same trains and track system as the Human Side of Battlestar Galactica at USS.
  16. ^If Boomerang leaves I'd like to see it replaced with another family friendly flat ride as opposed to another coaster.
  17. Love the trains. I wasn't at first, but I'm genuinely excited for Full Throttle now. Plus I love the sound of Premier launched coasters.
  18. Despite there not being any "new" slides I'm really happy with this transformation. Last time I was there the park was not in good shape and I'd rather them take the time to bring the park up to par, even if it means no new slides this year. The landscaping is beautiful!!
  19. Over the course of my time at the Disney College Program, I saw a disheartening amount of abuse of GACs. I do think the GAC for Make-A-Wish is acceptable. It gets the Make-A-Wish child and their family immediately to the front of the line. One incident reminded of is when an angry woman screamed at a family of guests using the Make-A-Wish pass. She literally said "What makes them so special that they get to go to the front?" I explained why guests get that particular version of the GAC and she asked "How do I get one of those passes?" I looked at her and said "You don't want to have this pass ma'am." That was heartbreaking.
  20. ^I'd hope so, but with the amount of movie tie-ins the park has you never know. However I think more than likely it would be a California mine theme.
  21. ^That'd be fantastic although I'd hope they'd use a different theme than Snow White. Too bad there isn't room for something like a Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars type coaster. Perhaps themed to the Sierra Nevada mining towns.
  22. I apologize if this has already been asked, but is there any chance of that refurbishment of Grizzly Peak with animatronics and a train ride being added ever happening? I know it's a long shot, but it would be incredible. Another idea I don't want to even dream about would be a version of Western River Expedition being brought back to life at DCA. That's a dream that won't happen. But I know that a place making of Condor Flats is an eventual possibility. The question is what could they do with it?
  23. I would always love to go to Perkins either after a long day at work during my Disney College Programs or after a long day in the parks in Orlando whether it was Universal, SeaWorld, WDW, or Busch.
