  1. That first shot of El Toro is amazing! I've known you've had talent, but wow!
  2. Great photos! Rikki and I visited the day after the girl fell out of the Sky Ride, so we unfortunately couldn't give that a go. Glad you had fun!
  3. What I think she's referring to is the fact that none of the 2020 additions are themed to Cyborg.
  4. Went in August 2018 and that's how the the Fastpass lines worked for me, as well. They really helped make sure we could ride everything we wanted to and grab multiple re-rides on stuff we wanted. It was especially effective on Swarm - anytime we booked it we practically walked straight onto the ride.
  5. ^^ That's good to know. To be honest, I've never heard of them closing the secondary entrance; there really isn't a valid reason to unless the park itself is closed.
  6. Oh man, I didn't realize another one of these existed out there. Ugh, I'm torn between wanting to hate-ride this for nostalgia's sake and wishing for another natural disaster to come through and spare people from riding this one, as well.
  7. To be a bit fair to Six Flags, buying up all of the parks back in the 90s/early 2000s wasn't the only contributing factor towards bankruptcy, but also the HUGE capital investments the company made into each park. Think about how many huge coasters Six Flags parks added between 1999 - 2003, not to mention all of the SLCs, Boomerangs, and family coasters that sprang up as well. Park operations have been a lot more disciplined with their capex approach in recent years. That said, it'll be interesting to see how this pans out. There's a big opportunity for some good and a lot of bad. Definitely continues the trend of big companies becoming bigger. Reminds me of Parks & Rec:
  8. ^ Interesting. At first glance, I also assumed the "yellow" track was just some of the unpainted orange reflecting in the sunlight, but now that you mention it, it does seem as if there's now true yellow track. That would look really cool!
  9. Awww, that's sweet. Gold star, Six Flags!
  10. I swear it feels like it was just yesterday when I heard the news that Disney planned on adding the Skyliner. LOVE what I'm seeing, especially how each station seems to have its own unique "feel". Such a fantastic transport option! Man, I really need to get back to Disney. It's been over 15 years since my last trip (over 25 years for Epcot and Hollywood Studios), and Rikki's never been (well, she technically was there while in utero lol). I was originally planning on a couple mini-trips next year to visit some Cedar Fair parks I haven't been to in a while as our last "park" trips before trying for a kid; maybe I scrap that and just do an all out Disney trip instead.
  11. Bill beat me to the photos. In addition to the BAFF, they had the secondary entrance to the park (for those looking to enter from 537 eastbound) closed off, so anyone looking to get into the park from that direction had to drive past and turn around. You think the jughandles suck on a normal day?
  12. Definitely seems like it was a late-season decision. I get that nostalgia is a thing, but if us SFGAdv can admit that Rolling Thunder and GASM were hot garbage, then you can do the same for Vortex, too. Which it is. Hot garbage.
  13. Gotta say man, your stamina for all these park visits on one trip is impressive. I'm at a point where I get burnt out after just a couple. Glad you had a blast! Also, yay to Canobie getting a pass! I really enjoyed my visit there a few years back. Here's hoping they see positive results from it.
  14. The cliche thing may be to poke fun at Six Flags operations, but here's an instance where Security's actions, coupled with law enforcement at the scene, may have prevented something really awful:
  15. Oh yea, I remember this trip from your Twitter feed! Great to see photos from it again! I loved seeing this sign. I wish a version of it could get hung up in my office building. The noise pollution in some corners is off the charts!
  16. Even though this park has been within a 10 minute drive for me the last 6 years or so, I could never bring myself up to actually going there knowing its reputation. TBH, there are much better uses for that land.
  17. Great Adventure is my home park, and though I do think it had some really scenic areas, Fiesta Texas blows it out of the water. Fiesta Texas may not be perfect, but the quarry setting, Rockville, Crackaxle Canyon, and the front section of the park are all gorgeous. Never seen anything like that at a Six Flags park.
  18. Oh man, that's crazy! Glad that you ended up seeing the positive in it all. That said, if I ever manage to get Rikki locked inside a random kiddie park in search of some kiddie credit, I'm pretty sure divorce papers wouldn't be much further behind.
  19. The park is starting to do some beautifcation projects. The Batman logo on the B:tR sign and the Movietown bathroom have each been painted (the logo looks especially nice), and Nitro's exit ramps are about 50% repainted. Here's the logo (courtesy of GAH):
  20. For some reason I expected the entrance to be farther back and not up next to Congo Rapids' entrance and Nitro's exit. That little nub of pathway from Nitro's entrance back to Congo Rapids is going to be insane.
