  1. May 4th, 2017. The only reason I remember is because it was the day of my AP Government exam... When was the last time you purchased an Apple product?
  2. I most definitely use Twitter and Instagram the most (and about equally, too). I like both platforms for different reasons. For me, Instagram is more for the photo/visual/interactive side (with stories and live streaming and all that) and Twitter is for the information/news/announcement side. I stopped using Facebook many years ago and never looked back. And I know it was purposefully omitted from the list, but of course I use YouTube all the time and am a subscriber as well.
  3. I assume it is because RMC has so much on their plate for 2018, so they needed to get a head start on their most massive ride in order to complete the others on time. I'm sure CF did it for financial reasons as well, but I completely pulled that outta my a** though, what do I know.
  4. It is still very early for me to have any plans set in stone, but I do have some. Guaranteed: 1. Lagoon 2. Knott's Berry Farm 3. Six Flags Magic Mountain Maybe...: 1. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom 2. California's Great America 3. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk 4. Gilroy Gardens And there are a whole bunch of "if" parks, but I won't bother listing those.
  5. I agree. This is most likely a star flyer. I can't see them add Patriot, Railblazer, and a B&M Hyper all back-to-back. But of course, I would love to be wrong! Cali could totally use a B&M Hyper ASAP!!!
  6. Six Flags Great Adventure, for sure. I love Kings Island, but you can't even compare the coaster collections. Indoor Premier spaghetti bowls (Flight of Fears) or outdoor ones (Joker's Jinx, Poltergeist)?
  7. Lagoon tomorrow. I really wanna get out to Glenwood Caverns and Elitch Gardens this year, but there is about a 1% chance of that happening. I'll be at Knott's and SFMM this winter.
  8. A third water coaster! Seriously though, that would be awesome.
  9. While I agree that KD is the "prettier" park, I don't think KI is as bad as you described it. I still very much enjoyed both my 2014 and 2017 visit to the park. It has a great atmosphere. But when comparing to KD, it definitely feels more corporate.
  10. I'm not going to come up with a name, theme, or location, but I'll list the rides and coasters I'd like to see in my park, trying to be as well-rounded as possible. Roller Coasters: -Huge, awesome GCI woodie (like the ones in China) -S&S Free Spin -Gravity Group family thrill coaster -B&M Hyper -Multi-launched, looping MACK Mega Coaster -MACK Power Splash -Some kiddie/family coaster, probably from Vekoma Flat Rides: -Enormous 2nd-Gen Intamin drop tower like Blue Fall -Funtime Star Flyer -Mondial Top Scan -Zamperla Giant Discovery -S&S Screamin' Swing -Variety of family flats like Troika, swinging ship, scrambler, flyers, etc. -Kiddie flat rides Others: -Sky Ride -Train -Log Flume -Intamin Rapids
  11. Cannibal is my closest coaster and is 52.3 miles away from me, as the crow flies.
  12. ^My thoughts exactly! Knott's isn't "fed up" with the launch system. It's actually quite reliable; it just requires lots of maintenance, especially for a year-round park. Xcelerator, and its launch system, isn't going anywhere.
  13. I am 100% happy with the way Viper is now, but I know the park is going to have to do something at some point to either keep the coaster around longer or make way for a new coaster. To be honest, I really don't want the new Vekoma trains on this thing. Yes, they prevent head banging, but the really do compress on your chest/shoulders, and at least for me, that is more irritating than a quick little jolty moment on the ride. I really just want a fresh coat of paint, and maybe fewer ads!
  14. ^This must be the most logical answer, because the park wouldn't just keep one of their most popular attractions down because they can... it must be a pretty serious/big reason. The ride ran daily from last October all the way through June with two trains almost every day. I can't even recall the last time the ride as done that, so it must have taken a toll on the ride's system in some way shape or form. I'm sure it'll open up sooner rather than later.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if the layout alters SLIGHTLY or some of the elements' shaping changes a little bit. It happened with Twisted Colossus, Wicked Cyclone, and Joker. For the most part, this is what SFOG is getting (and it looks AWESOME), but I wouldn't be surprised if a couple tweaks are made here and there, because based on history, the RMC animations don't always turn out to be 100% accurate. I really need to get out to SFOG soon. This ride is icing on the cake.
  16. Last time I checked, no park has two Goliaths. I don't have a problem at all with Six Flags reusing ride names at other parks, but I'd be lying if I say I wasn't shocked when SFOT announced "Harley Quinn Spinsanity" when they already have a ride (fairly new, too) with the exact same name verbatim. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Oh, you know you're a Six Flags park when you forget what color a coaster train is/was because it is always covered in ad wraps.
  17. While I pretty agree with all that Robb said, I will chime in a little and say that Halloween events at parks have never really been my thing. I grew up going to Knott's and still have never been to Scary Farm. I love all the decorations, lights, and props, but I've just never been interested enough in the walkthroughs, mazes, and shows to justify purchasing an extra ticket. For those who enjoy them (whom I assume is the majority), more power to you. I'm one less person in line!
  18. Can we talk about the head chopper down that drop? Holy crap!
  19. ...if you name your new ride "Harley Quinn Spinsanity" when you already have a ride, with the exact same name, in your park. In all seriousness, obviously they are going to retheme their current Harley Quinn, but I'm a little curious as to why they didn't just name their new ride something else. Sounds like a move that would confuse the general public. Sorry, back on topic now.
  20. I think you mean two years ago. Last year SFOT got Joker (S&S 4D Freespin). Well, it's still only August 2017. I think saying they got the flat package last year is a fair statement...
  21. I also noticed that Twisted Cyclone seems to use the original RMC trains rather than the new generation ones like on Twisted Timbers and Steel Vengeance. I know it's just concept art, but I thought that was interesting.
  22. I bet Six Flags is so used to just plopping DC themed rides all over, they completely forgot they already have a Harley Quinn here! Obviously that probably isn't the case, but it's still kinda funny. Looks cool. These rides look like maintenance/reliability nightmares, so hopefully Six Flags can do a good job operating these.
  23. Interesting. Is this still going to be a Larson Super Loop, just... a mega version? Or one of those S&S things? It says 32 passengers rather than the typical 24 on Super Loops, so I guess Larson just "blew up" their basic model? Very intriguing...
  24. Perfect addition! It's refreshing to see it with a different theme. I've been checking out SFM's socials, and the GP seem to be absolutely stoked for this.
