HangTime will definitely help distribute crowds a bit better, especially once Xcelerator and Monty both reopen. The new coaster should also help alleviate GhostRider's line as well. I wonder if Xcelerator is getting a third train, or maybe new trains in general? For the coaster to be closed this long with "TBD" means it is quite serious, whatever it is.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

DO NOT SKIP CEDAR DOWNS. it's awesome. (sheesh . . I'm with "Cedar Downs" at CP, like some are w/ the Pierogis at Knoebel's . . or others are with skyrides/flumes. ) I have been on it and I enjoy it but i am after the big coasters on the short trip. I will ride more next year. Cedar Downs is awesome. We had a storm blow over one evening, so basically the only ride open was Cedar Downs, it was so much fun. I was shocked that there were no seatbelts! -
Traffic jam. I don't have to deal with people directly. Kumba or Incredible Hulk?

Add to this list: Illinois (just O'Hare airport for a layover) Delaware North Carolina South Carolina West Virginia Colorado (just DEN airport) Idaho

I am finally all moved in my college dorm room. Class starts next week! It's a little nerve-wracking, but I'm SUPER excited.

I imagine the cars can be dispatched as soon as the other train clears the drop. By the time a car reaches the top of the lift and hits the holding brake, the train in front of it will have cleared the brake run. I'm pretty confident this will have a better throughput than most other rides in the park, minus Silver Bullet and Montezooma. I am very curious if Cedar Fair will add seat belts under those Gerstlauer lap bars. If not, capacity could be quite good actually. But slow operations and seat belts would make it no better than GhostRider or Xcelerator. We'll have to see! It looks amazing.

These rides were always intended to be stock/cloned rides, RMC has talked about this since they were first introduced. Not to mention the blueprints for the coasters have been out for years, doubt it was designed specifically for CGA or SFFT. Gotcha. I didn't know that. I guess I was just surprised at how well Railblazer fits in that spot, giving me the idea that it was specifically designed for that spot and not some off-the-shelf ride. I just find it so fascinating that Six Flags and Cedar Fair are adding the exact same prototype ride in the exact same year. That doesn't happen too often!
-
OMG that's not how any of that works and why does it even matter which ride is a clone of the other? Do you realize how silly that post sounds? I guess you're right. I just hear people everywhere saying it is a clone of Wonder Woman when we really know nothing about what went down with the RMC / Six Flags / Cedar Fair relationship behind the scenes. It was just a thought, and it doesn't matter at all since both rides look great.
-
Part of me feels like Wonder Woman is a clone of Railblazer, not vice versa. Railblazer seems to fit in its spot perfectly snug, as if it was uniquely designed for CGA. Even though Wonder Woman was announced first, I really think Railblazer was the "original," and SFFT mirrored and cloned it and slapped it in their park and announced it first to claim "world's first." Just a thought.

What's new about them? Are they different than past RMC trains? The wheel & chassis setup is a little different (think like NTAG and Iron Rattler's trains), but I believe the bodies/seats/restraints are essentially the same. Only the super coaster nerds would notice the difference (like I did). Very cool! I understand being a nerd, trust me. Where did you see the detail of the chassis? I wanna see! I actually wish they would reconfigure those RMC seats. They could be much more comfortable. Just check out any of the animations for Twisted Timbers or Steel Vengeance, and take a look at the wheel bogies. The cars ride on two wheel per side instead of the usual one, and the bodies seem to be elevated a bit more off the track.

THIS THING IS INSANE! I'm so glad there's no launch or tilt track or other stupid gimmick. It's just a HUGE, steep, fast, long, twisty ride! BRAVO!!!! I have no doubt this will beat Maverick as the "king" of Frontier Town. -

Lumberjack looks good. This park just kills it in the flat ride department. The variety (and quality!) they have is outstanding. They could add 5 more roller coasters back-to-back and still be a well-rounded park. Impressive! -

Looks like a solid addition! Even though they are a little "carnival-ey," they are fun rides that are visually appealing. -
Does anyone else have a gut feeling that this announcement will disappoint? I mean, they have done basically no teasing at all (when compared to KD, CP, and CGA), and the park is being very hush-hush with their announcement (I found out the time through an Instagram comment from them). I'm thrilled for the announcement, but something just doesn't seem to quite add up the same way the other three parks have been doing it over the last few weeks. EDIT: He ^ took the words outta my mouth. I hope we're wrong.
