  1. I remember hearing before that X2's paint was really expensive. Riddler's original paint lasted for years as well That would make sense. Given its location, it would make sense that Six Flags wants their most popular and iconic attraction to look good for years to come. And the color scheme Nrthwnd described would kick so much a$$. I've always loved red and silver/grey together on roller coasters. Despite it becoming quite faded and peely, Firehawk at Kings Island is one of my favorite color schemes ever, if not my favorite. And, even though I'm not a huge fan of the repainted color, Xcelerator's supports are still holding up really well after the repaint, and it has been what, like 7 years now?
  2. Designated Survivor recently started up again! LOVE this show. I hate when I'm caught up though, that way I can't binge watch.
  3. I absolutely LOVE Xcelerator's original colors (salmon red with light blue supports). If you look at old construction photos, you can see. Too bad those colors just fade so quickly in the sun, at least with the paint used back then. Speaking of paint, why the hell is X2 still so freakin' shiny after 9 years? Why doesn't every coaster get repainted with that type of paint?
  4. Thanks for the quick update. That's good news about Sol Spin. I can't wait to try it out when I visit in a couple weeks. As for Xcelerator, that's a bummer. Ideally I would love to see Knott's repaint the track since it's just sitting there with no work being done on it (assuming they're waiting for parts). With new hotness right next door next summer, I'd like to see Xcelerator look nice and fresh. But the park seems to like its current faded look.
  5. ^It probably isn't being discussed because Haunt started, and nothing interesting is happening at the site yet. I'm sure once vertical construction starts, track starts to arrive, and Haunt comes to a close, there will be plenty of discussion on the ride.
  6. Thank you for putting together a list again. It really helps keep track of everything. Next year is going to be amazing!
  7. Looks good. I’m just waiting for this park to become year-round. I’m sure once they expand a bit more and draw more crowds, Cedar Fair will make the decision. I think I’ll hold off my visit until the Summer, that way I won’t be missing out on Demon, Grizzly, Psycho Mouse, and Railblazer. Compared to other Cedar Fair parks, though, that’s a solid Winter line-up, with both B&Ms, their star attraction, and several family rides all open.
  8. That drop is just breathtaking. I think like most RMCs, the back row is going to be the place to be on this ride. And I know it’s a ways away, but I can’t wait to see test runs!
  9. I know Kings Island is quite a few years away from a new major coaster, but if HangTime goes over well at Knott's, I'd love to see Kings Island get a Gerstlauer Infinity. The park could use some type of vertical lift/beyond vertical drop/dive coaster, if we're talking "holes" in the line-up. They are already so well-rounded as is.
  10. Looking good so far. I may have missed something, but does anybody know if they will keep the structure white, or repaint it brown like in the concept video? Personally I'd love to see white and blue, like Twisted Colossus. But I guess either looks fine.
  11. Europa Park is REALLY up there on my bucket list. To me, it looks like a Disney park that has big awesome roller coasters. It really looks like it pleases every single audience!
  12. Thanks for the update. I seriously cannot keep track of all the new parks and roller coasters going up overseas. The Vekoma looper looks good.
  13. Does anyone know what rides are open for Winterfest this year? I searched around their website and couldn’t find a list. I’m thinking of heading up there for the first time in December to get some final use out of my Platinum Pass before the end of the year. Thanks in advance.
  14. Great reports! I always forget about these out-of-the-way parks, particularly Magic Springs. I had completely forgotten they have a Maurer Sky Loop there. Whenever I see those rides, I always think European or Asian, so I needed a reminder that the USA has one! Hahaha. Sad that Arkansas Twister was closed though.
  15. ^I agree. I’m sure year-round operation is squeezed into their master plan somewhere. It is the only major park in California that is still seasonal. As for Carowinds, does it ever get REALLY cold in North/South Carolina? Does anyone think they could ever get away with year-round operation? Just a thought.
  16. Well technically Patriot at WOF was announced for WinterFest, but was replaced with Prowler recently. Also, CGA runs Flight Deck and I believe Knott’s runs Silver Bullet. Well, Knott’s doesn’t really count since it runs all year, every day. But you’re right about CGA.
  17. I’m glad to see Afterburn open. The ride lineup here seems better than Kings Island’s, at least.
  18. Great news! I’ll be back at the park in December to try it out again. Hopefully Xcelerator will be open by then too.
  19. Knott’s Berry Farm Knott’s Soak City SeaWorld San Diego Carowinds Kings Dominion Kings Island Cedar Point Lagoon
  20. This looks fantastic. The ride is so much longer than I expected! The backwards-facing seats are also interesting. Movie World has a winner!
  21. Looks great! It’s always nice to see small parks expand with another large coaster. Even though SeaWorld just worked with GCI on Invadr, I have a feeling this is going to be a GG creation, mostly because they seem to “specialize” in these kiddie wooden coasters due to their train’s increased flexibility for the tight turns. But either way, this is a great addition!
  22. Great! The hard work is really appreciated. It’s going to be quite a list!
  23. I really want to make it out to Lagoon one more time before the end of the season (and to visit Frightmares). After that, I won't be at a theme park until Knott's this December for Merry Farm / New Years.
  24. It's a great little park. Walking around, it feels pretty "crowded" (not from people, but just the size and layout of the walkways), but Canyon Blaster and El Loco are both solid rides. I visited for the first time last November and I'd love to go back. I'm very curious as to how this new coaster is going to turn out next year.
  25. Nice report(s). Monster looks like such a great ride. It makes me even more excited for HangTime at Knott's!
