Fantawild Constructionthrillseeker4552 replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I'd love to see Vekoma do a large-scale looper like Arrow did with Shockwave, GASM, and Viper back in the late '80s and early '90s. This new model from them looks so good!

S&S Sansei Discussion Threadthrillseeker4552 replied to Coaster Joe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I have yet to ride one of those triple-launch coasters, whether it be a Sky Rocket II model, GaleForce, the Mack coasters, etc. But that's going to change when I ride Electric Eel this summer, and I may even head up to NorCal and do Superman as well. I can see why others prefer one intense launch (as I probably will too), but I have to admit that I really do like Full Throttle's backwards launch. It has some good kick to it that I wasn't expecting when I first rode.

I love both Viper and Green Lantern more than most people, but even I can attest that Green Lantern is far worse. Viper has just a few rough spots that, if you know the layout, you can brace for. But Green Lantern just tosses you forwards and backwards in the most intense ways possible. I think part of the reason I like Green Lantern is because it is one of only a handful of coasters that legitimately scares me every time I ride. I never know how intense my ride will be. I really hope it reopens soon.

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Threadthrillseeker4552 replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! If this is indeed a B&M Dive Coaster, that sounds good to me. It’s not my favorite model from B&M, but Valravn was way more fun than I was expecting, despite the restraints. CW already has two fantastic airtime/speed machines, so something smooth and loopy could fit well into the line-up since the only other real looping coasters in the park are an Arrow loop screw and a freakin’ SLC

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Threadthrillseeker4552 replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I’m surprised they’ve removed that much track from Vortex. Without context you would think the ride is being torn out.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Threadthrillseeker4552 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Agreed. Even before the old pink seats got super ugly, I never liked the color in the first place. So nice to see new seats and lap bars.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Threadthrillseeker4552 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Every time I see a photo, my jaw still drops. It’s hard to believe that this is a real roller coaster and is actually happening and isn’t some enthusiast’s wet dream (although it still probably is).

From a page and a half before... It's even complete with a picture... I know, but the day after it reopened (after the long term closure), it got stuck in the air with several people on it (I saw via Instagram) for a while, and I hadn’t seen any reports of it operating since. We know how temperamental that ride is, so it reopening for a day doesn’t necessarily it’s been consistently open since. That was my train of thought.

A pack of twinkies this morning because I needed something to eat before class. About $2.

I haven’t ridden either, but if both rides were in front of me, I would ride Speed Monster first! Norwegian loop FTW! Fahrenheit’s is awesome. B&M stop making coasters or MACK stop making coasters?

	Sierra Sidewinder at Knott’s.

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Threadthrillseeker4552 replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Come to think of it, Canada’s Wonderland did prototype B&M’s 2nd-gen Hyper train, and obviously their Giga Coaster as well, so I could totally see some new B&M contraption here... like a launched version of Banshee. I can’t believe Volcano opened 20 years ago and is still the only complete-circuit launched inverted coaster.

I am still in the process of ranking my middle coasters, but my Top 20 and Bottom 5 are mostly solidified. Top 20 1. Skyrush 2. Fury 325 3. Intimidator 305 4. El Toro 5. Maverick 6. Twisted Colossus 7. Wicked Cyclone 8. Kingda Ka 9. Nitro 10. Superman the Ride 11. Millennium Force 12. Intimidator 13. Diamondback 14. X2 15. Cannibal 16. Tatsu 17. Viper (SFMM, don't judge, I freakin' love this ride) 18. Fahrenheit 19. Storm Runner 20. Magnum XL-200 Bottom 5 5. Goliath (SFNE, yes, even in the front row) 4. Mind Eraser (SFNE, I rode it with the old trains) 3. Mind Eraser (SFA) 2. Vortex (Carowinds) 1. Apocalypse (SFA) <-- I hope the ride's fire effects burn it down one day.

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Threadthrillseeker4552 replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I think a launched B&M Wing Coaster (ala Thunderbird) would be perfect for this park, but 2018 has proven that Cedar Fair will work with other manufacturers like RMC and Gerstlauer, so it could really be anything. Exciting!

Nice list Bill! I can’t believe you rank X2 and Green Lantern at the bottom of your list. I absolutely love both of those rides, probably because I’ve ridden each of them so much that I’ve had great and terrible rides on them, where I just remember the good rides the most. But I’m really happy to see Tatsu so high! I LOVE that coaster. I’m going to finish mine sometime soon. I can decide a Top 20 and Bottom 20, but everything in between is the long haul... Thank you to Robb and A.J. and Comeagain? and everyone else working on this list. It’s nice since I never did the Mitch Hawker poll since the last time it was out, I had barely ridden enough coasters to even consider ranking anything substantial.

Count me in as one highly recommending West Coast Bash as well. I alternated and did SFMM in 2013 and 2015 and Knott’s in 2014. Couldn’t go in 2016. Such an amazing experience from both parks, and everybody is so nice and inviting, and you can really tell how much work the Alveys put into the event. And for what you get, it’s also a REALLY good price! I believe I read somewhere in the Ask Alvey forum or something that they are indeed having a 2018 WCB this September, but of course plans could change.
