  1. I really like the name! It's cool and original. I also like that the Pacific Northwest is getting a thrilling new coaster! Where I am, in Northern Utah, is still pretty far away from Portland, but I'm sure I'll get out here somewhere down the line.
  2. I know Merlin tends to over-hype all of their attractions, but that looks totally sick.
  3. Is there a photo of these new brakes on Green Lantern? Or am I blind and miss it?
  4. This is so true. Vortex (Carowinds) and Apocalypse are two of the worst roller coasters I've ever ridden, while Riddler's Revenge is one of my all-time favorite B&Ms! It's basically the "Kumba of the West" in terms of massive, forceful B&M loopers. Not only are they so subjective to enthusiasts, but each one is subjective to the other as well.
  5. Thanks for sharing! It's nice to see Sky Cabin finally operating after over a year of being SBNO. Can't wait to watch HangTime cycle from that perspective.
  6. I second this. I'd love to see an update with HangTime!
  7. Well, it's the offseason, so yes, Kingda Ka is technically down... As far as I know, it's been operating fine (that is, usual occasional breakdowns but nothing to the extent of Xcelerator).
  8. That track layout is exactly the same as the layout in the video. I guess we’ll find out what changes are present once it’s built.
  9. Part of me thinks that, even with Wonder Woman's moving station, Railblazer will still put through more people because Cedar Fair vs. Six Flags. Also, I doubt there will be queue gates to wait in. My guess is they will pull from the general queue and fill up the trains since there really is no grouping involved.
  10. Those are some cool trains. Even though it has shoulder straps, the restraints (and trains themselves) still look very open and free. I like it!
  11. Even though I'm not usually a fan of pink/purple color schemes, I really like this one. It definitely stands out!
  12. Knott’s and Magic Mountain the week of March 5th. After that, I plan on going to Lagoon’s opening day on March 24th.
  13. Great photos! That’s too bad to hear about your wallet, but at least you’ll never make that mistake again. On most coasters, I can keep my phone and wallet in zipped or button cargo pockets, but I think Tatsu is the only coaster where I completely empty my pockets every single ride. I’ve seen way too many wallets, keys, and phones fly out from other riders in the middle of the ride to take that chance.
  14. I’m sure they’ll get it open in time for summer crowds, hopefully early enough for spring break crowds. I mean, there has to be more to the story than we know; obviously the park wouldn’t keep one of their most popular coasters closed down this long if they had an option. I can’t get mad at them, it’s just frustrating for all of us. Right now, the park is basically SBNO farm with Xcelerator, Sky Cabin, and HangTime (obviously) not operating along with Sol Spin barely running, plus more ride closure in the next few weeks for annual rehab including Jaguar, Pony, and Monte. Good news is that the Log Ride should be opening back up this weekend!
  15. So true. I always forget how small the track really is. Can’t wait to see the rock work take shape!
  16. I’m pretty sure that wooden structure is going to be the exit building/gift shop. The queue is going to wind back and forth in the middle of the ride with canopy covers, according to the guy at the announcement. Thanks for the update!
  17. Flat screen! HangTime or Railblazer?
  18. Because it gets to a point that speeds faster than 150mph are just flat out uncomfortable and unpleasant. Plus, maintenance costs for the launch system and the train's wheels are probably a huge factor. Why did two of my classes get cancelled today and my essay due date got pushed back 24 hours? Am I just lucky?
  19. Man, this park really treasures this ride. I need to get out there and ride Phoenix in the next few years!
  20. Great news! Is this the last Schwarzkopf Bayernkurve still operating in the US?
  21. My first thought was a Vortex conversion, but I don’t see how that would incorporate new foundations. PLEASE be a GCI woodie!
  22. Wow! It’s nice to see people actually working on the ride, unlike the other SBNO Intamin about 60 miles south. Imagine if SFMM got Green Lantern open before Xcelerator...
  23. Come to think of it, that makes sense. The small eurofighter clones (Untamed, Hydrus, etc.) have similar turns, and they are counted as inversions on those rides.
  24. Nobody really knows. To me, the turn over the station looks much more inverted than the first dive, but neither look like inversions. If it were up to me, it would only have 4. It reminds me of the Silver Bullet debate about whether the overbanked curve is an inversion or not. In the end, it really doesn’t matter though. Looks like a great ride and it fits so well into the area.
  25. They could remove both Vortex and Nighthawk and replace that area with a kicka$$ wooden coaster from GCI, and that would still be a gain in my eyes. Those two rides suck big time and take up a decent amount of real estate.
