  1. Google Earth has recently updated aerial photographs of Knott's Berry Farm. They are dated December 2017. You can see HangTime under construction, Sol Spin in Windseeker's spot, Montezooma's new colors, and the Soak City expansion. I just thought I would share since I'm always stalking theme parks on Google Earth. HangTime under construction with pieces across the street. Sol Spin and Monte's new colors. Soak City expansion.
  2. I’m very interested to see how well operations go on these Raptor coasters. I watched a video of Wonder Woman doing continuous three-train testing, and it looks pretty smooth with the continuous loading station. I wonder how different it will be with Railblazer, since this one won’t have the moving station as far as I know. I do, however, prefer Railblazer’s colors, theme, and name. That black and green train is going to look so good flying over orange track.
  3. Great news! Does this leave La Ronde and Great Escape as the only Six Flags parks without it?
  4. I’m not going to get my hopes too high for this one. Remember when everybody was freaking out over SFMM’s 2013 investment, and it ended up being a “good but not GREAT” ride? Not trying to sound negative, but I just can’t see the park investing in a huge $30 million giga coaster, as awesome as that would be for the park and SoCal.
  5. Excellent video of what looks like a great ride. It's always sad to see a Schwarzkopf looper go, but this looks like a very worthy replacement.
  6. I’m the opposite. I really like it! Can’t wait to get back to the park once Roller Coaster reopens.
  7. Looks like a great family coaster! I didn’t realize how low you sit on these Bobsled coasters.
  8. Any updates on the new boardwalk/beach area that's being opened up down by Wicked Twister and GateKeeper?
  9. It's interesting to see them use the old school trains/restraints on a larger scale dive machine. I guess that just goes to show how it's a park's decision and not B&M's. Also loving the color scheme!
  10. Looks like they reversed the direction of the zero-g roll too than what is on the animation. I like when small changes like this are made. It makes following construction more exciting. I think Twisted Cyclone is really going to be a sleeper hit this year...
  11. The trim is always on, but it really makes a difference with a full train versus an empty one. In the middle of the day, when it's warm out, with a full train, you barely feel it at all.
  12. I think I've posted in this thread twice before with overly ambitious expectations. Now that summer is drawing closer, my 2018 plans are looking pretty light. 2016 and 2017 were big travel years for me. I've already been to Knott's and SFMM several times this year. I'm definitely going to Lagoon this month, probably once Roller Coaster re-opens. I'll be going here almost every weekend in the summer. I'll be going back to SoCal in mid-July to ride HangTime, CraZanity, and probably Electric Eel as well. Other than that, nothing too exciting for the time being. Something may happen in the fall or winter, but time will tell.
  13. It could just be the perspective with those cars sitting in front. If you look at the one car already sitting on the bottom of the ride, it actually looks pretty massive. To me, anyways. Oh wow, now I can tell. Those cars sitting in the "station" definitely put it into better perspective.
  14. I thought Dominator rode very well for a Floorless when I went last summer (probably because I'm used to the square wheels on Scream at SFMM), but my biggest gripe with the ride is the lack of an awesome zero-g roll. Those are my favorite elements on B&M loopers.
  15. ^He means not being able to ride it because the restraints may not accommodate him, not because the ride is supposed to be closed.
  16. And what’s funny is that the park can let the area look like crap and it totally fits the theme of Apocalypse. It’s one of the best, if not the best, themed ride in the park for this reason lol. I can’t wait to see a refresh of the area.
  17. Is this one really bigger than the originals? It looks exactly the same to me...
  18. I know this is early speculation, but if the Tiger side indeed gets RMC'd, I REALLY hope the name is Twisted Tiger. Gotta be consistent with Twisted Cyclone, Twisted Timbers, and Twisted Colossus!
  19. It’s very intense, but the back left wing seat is by far my favorite seat on Skyrush. You will hang on for dear life.
  20. I think I’m most excited about the fact that this ride essentially has the same restraints as B&M clamshells, and those things are probably my favorite restraints on the market.
  21. I agree with everything that has been said about Hershey. Skyrush is absolutely ridiculous (in the best way possible), but even if you end up disliking it, the park has so many other fantastic coasters, particularly Fahrenheit. That ride is by far one of the most underrated coasters I've ridden. It and Storm Runner are both great rides.
  22. I'm willing to bet good money that HangTime opens well before June 1st.
  23. That looks amazing! What a cool way to bring the Boardwalk to life at night.
  24. Didn't you say you're buying a one-day pass one time before you start working there? If you won't have a season pass for a few months you might do better to wait until the following weekend. There's going to be a lot more of us there that weekend because there's a rumor that an unnamed roller coaster could be opening then... and this rumor isn't coming from some facebook post about 'weeks not months'. Of course, there can always be unforseen complications, which is why there's no official date. I actually may not work at the park after all. I got offered a better, more valuable job that pays almost twice as much that I couldn’t pass up. I’m a little bummed, but I’ll still be working in SLC so I’ll still visit Lagoon almost every weekend in the summer, therefore I am planning on getting a season pass.
  25. Anyone going to the park this weekend (7th - 8th)? I'm considering going Saturday, but I don't wanna be alone! I'd love to meet some fellow Utahn TPR peeps.
