I generally put sitdowns/floorless together as there are so few of the first and the floorless coaster was basically a replacement/improvement of those. For me it is also a tide between those very same types. While floorless coasters might no have the crazy g forces and transitions some inverts have they generally provide a good compromise between inversions, length, smoothness and forces. For example, superman in Madrid doesn't have (apart from the first drop in the back) any Oh Sh!t! moment but I still like it a lot. it just feels very "complete" in terms of the ride experience and as I'm a fan of multi looping coasters it's even better.

Has a waterslide ever scared you?
rcjp replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's a crappy (really crappy) water park in the town we usually spend a few days of the summer in and last time I went there I was riding a water slide which finishes with a rather tight left turn but the wall on the right doesn't go any higher. Basically I could feel that half of my back actually came off the slide. It was enough to make my heart stop for a moment. The thing is you tend to think (with amusement parks in general): Oh, it's fine... it's safe.. But the problem is, with crappy ones like this I'm no so sure. In another one of those a combination of a tight turn with a little drop makes you jump and land on your back/left shoulder quite brutally. -
Most Photogenic Coasters

^^The hulk does look very sexy. Here are a few (I know I'll eventually remember a lot more) Nitro has always looked sexy for me. I love those wide lift supports, for some reason. Also Storm Runner with its collection of rather odd elements. Love this one! Shambhala also looks great (thanks in part to that turn) -
Best first drop on a steel coaster?
rcjp replied to CPmillenia94's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I think it is because of the 270 degrees twist. If it were straight like MF's it would feel very long. -
^It is kind of odd. The only park I've been to with those.

^Knowing B&M hyper drops I imagine Leviathan's must feel like it goes on forever (with some nice floater) -

^I've only ridden Hurakan Condor once and I got the normal seating. As far as I know (although I could be wrong) there is a tilting and a non tilting standup car. It has 5 in total so I'm not sure what each one does but I think you have two standup ones. -

For me too. Even though I like red I think that if they wanted to go for a single colour (which is already a weird idea) there would be better options (like black). -
What park have you been to the most?

I think it's Disneyland Paris but I'm not entirely sure. -

^Skyrush's drop is awesome. Fahrenheit's was great too. I have to say that MF's disappointed me a bit as it didn't give me a lot of air and, for some reason, it didn't feel as long as I thought it would. For these sensations I would choose shambhala: it does feel very long and delivers sustained air all the way. -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
rcjp replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Don't know if I'm using this right, but You can almost guarantee that Canada's Wonderland will be teasing "Ziz" for their 2016 attraction. My money's on a B&M launched of some sort. Wing seems like the most obvious one. A launched wing coaster could not be a very big project. The problem with a launched wing coaster is that the trains need to be shortened to be light enough for the launch (see Holiday World) and with CW's attendance, I really doubt CF would want to limit capacity like that. If it is going to be a launched coaster, I would expect it to be a sit-down or floorless train. If it were a launched coaster it would probably not be floor less because their has not been any floor less launched coasters yet. It will probably either a regular wing coaster, a B & M invert or a flying coaster. But this thunderbird is also B&Ms first launched wing coaster. There is always a first (not that I think that a launched floorless is happening) -

A year ago (and two months, actually) When was the last time you got caught in a traffic jam?

I also really like talon. That turn after the corkscrew is awesome. I also agree that hydra is one of the few coasters where I actually got zero g during the zero g. As to the rest of the layout, I find it fun. Nice first drop and I like how (especially in the front) you seem to enter the last corkscrew pretty hard after a moment of floater.
