  1. ^If it really will have a layout like that then it should be great for a dive coaster! Especially given it's not one of the biggest. Looking forward to seeing the compete circuit.
  2. What about a coaster with invisible track so that you can't see at all where you're going next? (and that would truly be like flying)
  3. I nearly murdered the terrible woman in front of me on the Labadee mountain coaster last week. She treated it like a scenic viewing opportunity and kept stopping, taking pictures, going a bit more at a snails pace then stopping again. Luckily the guys running it saw what happened and let me go again for free since my 'ride' was totally ruined! I'm already angry just because of reading this. Knowing myself, I would be FURIOUS is something similar happened to me.
  4. Like 90 DEGREES!! I really like B&M's hyper drops. The one on shambhala at Portaventura (the tallest B&M I've ridden) feels never-ending and provides some nice air all the way down. Watching the tunnel at the bottom of the drop getting closer and closer is really cool too. I haven't ridden goliath (or titan) but I don't like these "straight" drops as much as the more modern curving ones.
  5. I agree. While I didn't find it painful it certainly wasn't smooth and having had the chance to try trim off/trim on on the same that, boy did that make a difference.
  6. Stairway To Heaven
  7. WOW! News reporters are so dumb when it comes to parks!
  8. This is true. However it is not a coaster where you experience a 500' drop or speed. It a coaster that is built up instead of out. Cedar point was not the First 400' coaster, they were the first 400' full Circuit coaster. I still think that 500' needs to be broke where you at least feel the speed. I don't know, but I do think it was said perfectly that whatever it is, is something we won't know. I do believe Cedar Point has something huge planed, they already have plans for their 150, what it is will be the game for awhile. Yeah if CP one day really will break the height record again I wonder what type of coaster it will be. I mean, a full circuit one would cost a fortune and they already have MF. And a launched ride (no matter that happened after the top hat/whatever the tallest element would be, would make dragster redundant) so I really don't know.
  9. ^Roughly, because there are some parts with s curvature, but that should be close.
  10. I've just realised I've never ridden a woodie under 75 ft tall
  11. ^Well, many people also think the pre drop on older B&Ms was there to "tease" you.
  12. That turn is looking very interesting....
  13. ^^True. Storm runner is actually on my top 3 while TTD and KK are not. Still, the feeling of being launched to 120 + mph speeds and climbing more than 400 feet is awesome. For me KK's 20 seconds or so are the most thrilling on any ride. But then that's it, it's all it's got and that's the problem. If they added after the tophat of a ride like that let's say, a part like skyrush's two airtime hills-high speed turns combo (the 8 shaped part) it could easily be a no 1 for me. ^There's a ride planned for Orlando in 2016 over 500 feet, so....
  14. ^Yes. From what I've heard they brake the trains way too much meaning there is little air over the hills and that, overall, the coaster doesn't travel as fast as it should.
  15. Forget that. The dive is very fast and you're paying more attention to the Gs pushing you against the seat pretty hard. The bottom part is the most intense. I think I remember reading that Tatsu's Pretzel Loop pulls 4.5Gs at the bottom Oh, thanks. It's interesting how even though we tolerate a lot more Gs in that position 4.5 feels more intense than when you're sitting straight.
  16. That's the problem. These hydraulic launches are really powerful and, from what I've read, relatively efficient (in terms of power consumption) but have a lot of problems. LSM launches, on the other hand, are more reliable but use a lot more energy and don't quite match the former for both acceleration and top speed.
  17. ^I haven't tried raging bull but apparently it's trimmed to death which doesn't make it very exiting.
  18. ^A 300 ft drop might look more intimidating, but the pretzel is a more intense element. I would like to know how many Gs those usually pull. Does anyone know?
  19. Not at all. False. The person below me has ridden an intamin 1st gen drop tower.
  20. I had one last night where I was at Cedar Point but El toro was there. This is the coaster I have dreamed of the most times (probably because of the traumatic experience of going to SFGAdv and finding it closed). Anyway, I wanted to get the last row but it was already occupied and so, for some reason, rather than waiting I took the front row of the back car and, to my surprised, noticed it would sit four across rather than two. Then we started going and the restraint was fully unlocked meaning the only thing holding me during the ejector air moments was the seatbelt. Strangely I was quite relaxed despite that. I only got one ride (well, half because it ended suddenly) and in spite of trying to get more, I didn't manage to. I honestly don't know why so often on my coaster dreams the restraints fail. It's not like I am afraid that will happen in real life but that just keeps happening.
  21. Well it looks like an attempt at making one
