1. Maybe it's just me but things like this never bother me on coasters where you can pick your own seat. I see why people would care but if you know the ride is better in the front 3 rows then why would you ever sit anywhere else anyway? That fixes the problem and unless you wait for the very front the wait time isn't any longer. Even on rides where the ride needs to be ridden in the very front seat and wait times are increased it never bothers me because I just always ride in that seat and know that going in. That's why I don't care about vibrations on rides like Kingda Ka. If I know the ride experience is dramatically better in the front then I only wait for the front and the vibrations are a non issue anyway. The only time this is a problem for me is when you have a grouper and it's just the luck of the draw. Banshee is a good example as it can shake quite a bit in the back. Goliath at SFNE is a more dramatic example. Your ride can either be amazing or excruciating depending on where you sit and you need to wait for an hour to see where you'll end up. That's a problem, but if you can pick your own seat I'm more than happy to keep picking the best seat (which on Gatekeeper and Wild Eagle is the front seat, left wing). With Kingda Ka, I fully agree. Why? Because even if it wasn't rough in the back it's definitely a front seat ride as, for me, on any other seat it's like"Wow that fun!" while in the front you go"OMFG I thought the wind was going to destroy my face!". On Gatekeeper, however, it's not like that. I never got to try the very back (I was afraid of those vibrations) but in the 4th or 6th you could already feel those. Plus a new ride like that shouldn't have those problems. Especially when you have 20 year old rides of the same manufacturer nearby which still run silky smooth.
2. What about my proposition on page 3? I might add that the restraint I drew is no more valid. Instead, try to picture something like this, with a soft vest for shoulders: This. The salvation for standups.
3. Yet they're the only ones who did it. True. And if you look this is the only (or one of the only) coaster(s) with 8 car trains sitting 32 riders with an LSM lift. What they are is the exact same as the old trains minus the outer seats. I think the old ones looked waaayyy better but if this solves the issue that's okay.
4. ^I don't think so. The turn connecting the lift and the station goes under the turn of death. There only turn after the corkscrews leads to the brake run.
5. Stinger at dorney (yes, I managed to ride it!) was pretty forceful while being smooth (at least for me). It's not the most intense I've ridden but you could definitely feel the 5 Gs.
6. ^I imagine how stressful it can feel to have a lot of work doing something and then wondering whether people will like it or not. In this case it seems to be a win. I really like the colours now that we have pictures of the actual track.
7. ^The only B&M wing coaster I've ridden was GK and I didn't hate it. The first half was good but after the MCBR it was very weak. However, the worst problem for me were the vibrations I got if I sat behind the 3rd or 4th row. I rode it in August 2013 and I don't know if they have addressed that issue but it could get quite unpleasant as those small yet quick vibrations would give me a mild headache.
8. ^ Haha! me too. I would actually like to try one of these seriously messed up coasters as I haven't been on any.
9. ^That would be surprising. I would say they are just messing with us and it will be a normal lift but I could be wrong.
10. OMG only now with your post did I notice the turn after the loops is completely unbanked
11. ^The hulk has to be one of the best coasters to look at and I would really like to try it.
12. Personally, I think the standing floorless design makes Acrophobia one of the best drop towers but that's just my opinion. Anyway, I actually love B&M stand-ups when they are done well (Georgia Scorcher). If they are done poorly (Vortex at Carrowinds) they can be killed with fire. Honestly, I think that just like B&M redesigned their inverted trains, dive coaster trains, and floorless trains, if B&M were to redesign the stand-up train so that it loaded faster and kept the OTSR away from your ears, they would have a kick a$$ ride. Please redesign this B&M!! B&M hasn't really change floorless trains since they were created but yes, I do agree they could make a better experience now. Just look at the last standup (Georgia Scorcher) which seems to be the best around. Their new vest restrains would be great for these rides.
13. ^That's quite an interesting/odd ride. It's like a human centrifuge.
14. Yeah it doesn't really show much of the layout but thanks for posting. It's always great to see one of these getting built. Wasn't it supposed to open this year? I guess that's not happening.
15. I've always liked the way Hydra looks. Especially with that funk cobra roll.
16. What about . .. 100% extended Maurer Söhne Skyloops
17. Don't worry, I was mocking B&M for using different names when it's basically the same element. They did it on Fury 325 as well, finding a name for each turn: "high speed s curve" ; "overbanked curve" ; "high speed bancked curve"... pshh, same thing. I was just re-watching the POV and yeah, they're pretty much the same. I know it doesn't really matter but I don't see why they come up with all these names? Just to look fancy? It would be clearer if they used the same. (why do they call some of their corkscrews giant flat spins? ) That picture looked great. It should be a fun element.
18. Interesting colour. It doesn't seem to match any of the track pieces seen at the Ohio factory. (so I assume it was built in the other one, in Italy?)
19. ^Yeah I know it's not done yet. Probably some parks wouldn't bother with it
