I also think they are underrated. GIBs are awesome (yeah, when they work ) and, as mentioned, they have lots of cool stuff too. When was the last time they actually built a bad and rough ride? -

^^Nice! Sadly I couldn't get a good look of the trains but they seemed different -
Who ever puked during or because of a ride?

It has never happened to me but then I don't usually do a lot of spinning + looping flats like top spins (even though I love a good Frisbee ride) -

The snappy turn into the brakes on raptor. Some love it , some hate it. I actually thought it was really fun -

Sounds interesting (especially the family coaster and the flyer). It'd be nice to see another flying coaster getting built in Europe. -
Which coasters are the "most fun" to ride?
rcjp replied to A.J.'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Steel force was a coaster I actually found pretty fun while not being intense. Those pops of air towards the end always put a smile on my face -
^ ? I know it's not the greatest ride ever and it gets quite a bit of downtime but so does TTD and I imagine a lot of people might go to the park because it has the world's tallest roller coaster (among other reasons). So while it is definitely gimmicky I wouldn't call it a mistake. I personally love it (if you ride in the front)

Big Surprises on Coasters
rcjp replied to gerstlaueringvar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thunderhawk's last hills (with trims off) gave me some pretty good air (especially with buzz bars) Oh and this bit (under the airtime hill) on CĂș Chulainn at Tayto Park provided and unexpected "jerk" to the right with some air in the middle. Pretty fun -

I see what you did there I personally love a properly loud coaster Yes, indeed. It makes them more "imposing" and intimidating. I find it a shame that almost all newer B&Ms seem to be either totally filled with sand or partially. I have no idea why some people find it rally. I mean, even if I rattly wanted to be nitpicking I'd say millennium force has a slight rattle but raptor still doesn't. (it was also way smoother when I rode it than gatekeeper) -

Single element with the most dropped items
rcjp replied to LuminousAphid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Furius baco's heartline roll is a good one too. The fact that as you rotate you go through 1 positive, negative and lateral G (like on other rolls of this type) combined with the intense shaking will make quite a few people lose their stuff if not properly secured. Even my watch which was strapped to my wrist nearly fell (the vibrations opened the metal locking thingy) -

Maybe they were. Isn't this the accelerator coaster with the highest capacity trains? (plus they're wing trains so that'll even add more weight) -

^But B&M's track for wing coasters isn't very wide, is it? (at least when compared to the bigger dive machines). Maybe it's just the way the trains are built with one single rigid bar connecting all the seats to the chassis. -

Wow, it must have gotten pretty bad recently which is a real shame as it is a short yet awesome ride. Hope they do something serious about this (new trains would be great) -

Single element with the most dropped items
rcjp replied to LuminousAphid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
True. And while slower inversions hangtime providing inversions like hydra's jojo roll are also good ones generally people, when riding a coaster that "goes upside down", will be a little more careful when in reality inversions like loops are not that likely to make you lose stuff. On the other hand many non inverting coasters that have airtime moments will make people lose their items (I'm thinking about one ride on nitro when as we were going over the hill after the hammerhead turn a bunch of coins flew out of someone's pocket and one of them hit me in the head) -
Do inversions make a coaster better to you?
rcjp replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There isn't one answer, in my view. You can have a great coaster with or without inversions. For example, my top three rides: dragon khan - loads of inversions storm runner - a few inversions mixed with other elements skyrush - no inversions so there really isn't a trend there. Also, a few years ago you either had coasters with no inversions or coasters which basically consisted only of inversions while nowadays you have plenty which have a nice variety of inverting/non-inverting elements (RMC's come to mind). So I don't think I can choose one as I really love the classic loop or a zero g but also an ejector airtime hill + fast turns,.... -
Front Seat Vs. Back Seat Coasters.
rcjp replied to Physical's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you don't count the view generally the back is more interesting (even if it is just because of the first drop). The thing is (at least for me) that I get to ride in the front a lot less often than in the back so that probably makes it feel more special which might affect my judgement. If there is a clear front seat coaster though it's kingda ka (and TTD) as they feel like totally different (less intense) rides in the other seats.
