This was on Tuesday but Colin Vearncombe AKA "Black" died due to injuries sustained in a car crash earlier in the month. Link. I had kind of forgotten how the music video of one of his songs (probably the most known one) features a park.

The ride seems to make a small climb into the brakes. Will this mean it will drop all the way to ground level (unlike TTD and especially KK whose drops end quite a few feet above ground)? -
Favorite Rides from the Movies

^Haha I watched this movie as a kid quite a few times yet I didn't remember this scene. Now those would be some seriously intense rides -

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Well, it could be worse. Here (as there aren't really any parks) I get the feeling that when I tell someone I like coasters they don't really know what I mean unless they've been to a proper park. I think most of them imagine carousels and things like that -

^That's what I thought, which makes me really hope there is one unless. . .. . .. there is a trim at the top -

^I hadn't realized they had grown that much! I did get the feeling they were getting more people lately (as I even started hearing a lot of people who didn't seem to know the park even existed talking about it) but that's pretty good. I wonder what we can expect in the future. As to stampida: I also like the layout as it is. I only rode it once but it was great fun (not even too rough although that might have been because it was early in the season back then) so I'm fine with a retracking (as long as it doesn't change the ride experience as I mentioned earlier) -

^But it doesn't look like and idea that would make it to a ride of this size (at least I get that feel) -

Indeed. That's what makes it so intriguing. One of the things I find the oddest has to be the unbanked turn leading to the MCBR (given that the rest of the ride doesn't seem to focus a lot on laterals) -

Imaging the feeling of sideways airtime alone is awesome! Except.... the cars will be spinning at that point, so not sure how much sideways airtime there will be. Although I haven't experienced it, form my understanding sideways airtime is when you're sideways (obviously) and feel Gs that pull you off the seat which means the Gs are actually lateral but so are you. Therefore you should get the same feeling no matter where the cars are pointing on that element. -

Me too. It looks better and hopefully will provide more weightlessness or something like that -

Those were my thoughts too. Isn't it a bit of a waste of money (maybe) to keep trying to fix these rather than getting new ones. I'd imagine intamin would be capable of more advanced (and better) trains now even if the coasters isn't exactly old. -

^Last time I rode it was on opening day 2014 and I did ride in the back outside seat. I thought I was going to die (having ridden it before in other seats) but it actually wasn't bad. It's a shame to see it's got like this. -

If taron (at Phantasialand) really has such a powerful launch as I've been hearing (like 1.8 Gs) I find it a bit odd that this will be "only" 1 G. But there is one thing, though, all these calculations we make are based on the time it takes to hit a certain speed and that speed so what we're getting are the average accelerations. Most coasters don't have a constant acceleration and perhaps this will have a strong kick in the beginning but then as the speed increases (and so does drag) the acceleration is reduced. -

I wonder if the coaster will have a 270 degree twist on the way down like TTD and KK or if isn't tall enough and then will only have a normal 90ยบ twist). I can't really tell from those images Also, I hope it has lap bars only. -

^^That picture truly is stunning Coaster-Lab. He said it will be "a little less than 1.9". It's going to be insane! If this really is true then I'm seriously impressed. The most powerful launch I've been on was kingda Ka and I didn't imagine LSMs could go over that. Taron will have launches around 1.8g. Where did you read 1.8? That's insane for an LSM; TTD, Xcelerator, and Kingda Ka don't even break 1.7. But I suppose it's possible, Dodonpa is 2.7... I remember watching a documentary about hulk that said the launch was 2 g's. Even taking this into account 2 Gs is a lot. Is this really accurate? I mean, I've never ridden the hulk but I don't remember hearing anyone saying the launch was super forceful (which would be the case if it were 2 Gs)
