This was probably the biggest surprise for me. I wasn't looking forward to seeing Affleck as batman that much but I ended up liking him quite a lot. I really enjoyed this older, more intense and brutal batman.

While the layout is fairly simple (and not very long) I think what people like abut it is that it delivers a lot of airtime, positive Gs, some laterals and with an incredible pacing. I believe the length is appropriate for such an intense ride too. My only problem really is the restraints. But well, everyone has their preferences.

I wouldn't say B&M is overrated given that a lot of people here find a lot of their rides forceless, as you said. In fact you can see the amount of discussion that takes place almost every time a new B&M is announced precisely because of this issue. So I don't think they are overrated.

Wasn't it supposed to go over the top hat fairly fast (to avoid rollbacks and hence the trims)?

^While I certainly wouldn't call it great it was fine by me. Fairly entertaining (which is what all these films are about) and I also liked the darker tone. I know I might get killed because of this but I'd put it more or less on the same level as the avengers which apparently everyone loved (especially the first) and I'm not a DC fanboy at all. I actually had pretty low expectations (perhaps that's why I liked ti more). Of course this is my opinion but, anyway, I thought it was pretty decent.

^That's what I thought too. I mean, they get this reputation mostly because of their older rides and it makes you wonder if they still deserve it.
