  1. Nice! I wonder what this element will be and the amount of Gs it'll pull as G forces in this position are always interesting.
  2. Stunning photos, as usual. I really liked this one
  3. Ive ridden Skryush once before, (and loved it) but still dont understand what people mean by a "kink". Could you explain it to me please? It's best felt in the back. During the first drop, you get two pops of air. The first comes while cresting the hill and initially dropping. The second is midway through the drop, when the hill is around 85 degrees. It's a little hard to explain, but if you rode it again, I think you would get what I mean. I wouldn't call it two pops of air as you continuously get airtime as you go down the drop. The thing is it's not constant (like on a B&M hyper) as you start by getting moderate air and then near the end it rapidly increases to OMFG ejector. (it's not evenly distributed)
  4. Saw Spectre yesterday. It was generally good with nice action sequences (some were great) but overall the plot and ending were a little meh..... (in my view). I also expected a little more from Christoph Waltz as the villain. It was fun, nonetheless.
  5. I don't see how the block brake affects the ride experience at all. It's literally only there for CAPACITY. It's not there as a point in the ride for the riders to say "Oh we're halfway through the course, time for something else!" That's not what it is.... Take Banshee for example. It has its block brake at the VERY end of the ride, but I have yet to see anyone here post how Banshee is terrible after the "MCBR" because there's just more brakes afterward. If GateKeeper didn't have a block brake, would anyone still complain about the helix? I think we all know it isn't there for the ride experience but you have to admit that it does affect it. And even though Banshee's brake run can be "technically" considered a block brake + final brake run it is different to have no pauses until the very end of the ride. In my opinion, ideally (for the sake of the experience) there would be no MCBR but naturally there have to be some for capacity reasons but it's better to have that pause in the middle (like raptor) than near the end as you do expect (after hitting the brakes) either no more ride (if it's a final brake run) or some ride (if it's a MCBR) and that helix just doesn't feel enough. Of course it has a purpose and I'm sure they studied all options but it's just that if you're going to cut a ride/break the pacing it's better to do it in the middle.
  6. ^I don't believe there was any major problem but there were some occasions when it was closed for a while and/or many times (pretty much like KK and TTD, really). Also, I don't think there is a speed "limit" for LSMs. It's just that it might get too complicated/inefficient to reach higher speeds using them.
  7. I kind of looks like a zero g which turns into a inline roll in the middle. Interesting. ^So I guess that makes it the "loopiest" wing coaster
  8. Are those "wings" on the first car for the actual train or just a way to check clearance?
  9. Interesting drop.... This is starting to look pretty nice.
  10. Great pictures. ^That last hulk photo is awesome!
  11. ^Me too. I especially love the ones with no train as the track seems to twist in a very odd way. Like this
  12. I don't know yet but perhaps a trip to Germany + Scandinavia to hit a few main parks (and naturally Kolmarden too )
  13. ^B&M has built a few coasters lately with rather uninspired post-MCBR parts (shambhala also comes to mind) I actually enjoyed steel force's ending. It's nothing spectacular but then so isn't the rest of the ride. I found those last hills pretty fun (a bit like nitro only not as good). I agree with great bear, though. Perhaps if it were today they've put a heartline roll or something but back then they didn't do that.
  14. Indeed! And it should hit it with some speed as it has that turn before.
  15. You almost forget this ride (and the shuttle coaster). It's amazing they're getting all of this.
  16. Those two coasters alone make a nice set. Looking forward to seeing what vekoma does with this one.
  17. ^It's a very silly (if real at all) record but the ride looks awesome nonetheless.
  18. ^Looks like there will be some serious air
  19. Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
  20. Looks great! I'm happy to see it doesn't crawl over the top of the loop (and this is still testing with low chain speed) as I was afraid they'd sacrifice speed top get maximum height.
  21. That first drop looks pretty steep for a swooping drop. Great!
  22. That's something I always think about when I see these older coasters using this cable system.
  23. ^ Very cool! I'd be nice if more parks did this.
