  1. This is exactly what it is. A brake's default position is closed. It takes power and air pressure to leave them open. If the power goes out, the power giving the air the pressure to open them is lost, and the brake closes.
  2. I've critiqued plenty of your coasters, so I don't think I need to give you the long version this time. It's probably the best coaster I've seen you make. Good work. You're learning a lot. It's bumpy, but it's not totally unrideable because of it. There are only two things I can really say I didn't like about it: One, you only run one train per side. It might be able to work with two trains per side or four trains. Two, the layout's pretty bland. I was upset when you said it was inspired by Twisted Twins. That's one of the most uninspiring coasters I've ever been on. CCI didn't try anything fun with that coaster. Your first drop isn't anything special. And the dueling/racing was only really noticeable at the bottom of the first drop and the twisting portion of the end. Pretty good work. 6/10. Edit: Also, how did you do the dueling? Did you select all the first track and save it as an element? Then did you insert it as a mirrored element and change some places so the rides didn't collide?
  3. They haven't fired it up to full speed or starting colliding protons yet. They're just shooting protons in and speeding them up so far.
  4. Is there any solid evidence of a layout of this thing? Will it really have no hills and just be like the Thrust Air prototype without the hill? Because that's kinda lame.
  5. Mulva?
  6. Ahh! I saw you with your Beech Bend shirt. By the way: That's me! Hahaha. Notice the hat in the photo and the hat in my avatar. Same hat! I was in the process of marathoning, so I was running from the unload station to the load station. It was so empty, I was able to get off one train and get on the train ahead of it. I got 16 rides on MF. It was amazing.
  7. They named it iSpeed? Come on. This is iBoring.
  8. That wooden "support" is weird, but I guess they need some way to hold it up before they get the next supported segment up.
  9. Magnetic brakes can't fully stop a train, but if the track weren't at an angle, the train would probably eventually lose enough momentum that it would stop. But I don't get why it's at such a steep angle. I asked about this earlier.
  10. How many people are going to lose their iPhones by keeping this out while on the ride?
  11. That whole thing is written pretty tongue-in-cheek.
  12. Complete with spelling errors.
  13. You stopped on both!? Oh man! Some of my friends were on the MF train that stopped. I would have been, but I opted to ride in the front seat. Boo.
  14. Has anyone heard of the time travel theory? This one is pretty amusing. Apparently, this thing may be the reason for time travel. But we won't know it because you won't be able to travel in time before a time travel method is discovered.
  15. I'll go in depth tomorrow. I didn't know it was your second coaster, but I can see that. I apologize if I came off as a jerk, but, really, spend more than five minutes on a coaster. Ride in the back seat, check the G-forces, make brakes and the lift hill straight (push "I"), and think in terms of realism if you want a realistic coaster.
  16. THANKS FOR SHOUTING. This is a joke, right? I mean, you didn't spend more than five minutes on this, and you just posted a rough draft, right? Right? I won't bother with a critique unless you really, really want one.
  17. You seem a little confused. No biggie. A cable lift is an elevator lift. Mean Streak has a chain lift.
  18. ^ Hang on. Raptor stopped on the lift hill, and you got scared and didn't ride? How often do you visit the park? If someone's got their cell phone or a camera out or unbuckles their seat belt, they'll stop the ride on the lift if it clears the station. I think you're paranoid. What are "weird noises" when it comes to roller coasters? Also, don't ride Mean Streak. It's crap. What cable would make a plucking sound on Mean Streak? There aren't cables on the ride except below the handrails on the rides, and those don't move, so there's no sound to be made. Are you sure it wasn't the anti-rollbacks?
  19. What this article fails to mention is that a lot of these reports are probably minor things. People at water parks run around in bare feet, so they're going to stub a toe. They'll trip and scrape their knee. They go to first aid, and it's recorded in the log. As for getting hurt on Great White and Steel Eel, those just could be people hitting the lap bar during airtime or twisting an ankle while getting off the ride. Rattler, on the other hand, has gotta be legit. Articles like this come about several times a year. It's best not to even post them. We could probably find another one and just copy and paste our responses and replace the names of rides.
  20. You know what's awesome? The Legend, built after Raven's success, is based on "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" with the headless horseman. Ha. I hope you're not building a Legend clone!
  21. Hey! I was in the park on Sunday too. I drive by an EHCRWA tower on my way home, though mine's a different tower. I think it stands for (E-word) (H-word) County (Reclaimed or Regional) Water (Authority or Association). I can't find anything online. The crowds on Sunday were extremely light. I got numerous rides.
  22. You mean it's for real until it falls apart like every other major theme park project for Arizona. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE my homestate to get a real amusement or theme park. But starting off with two rides with 200-foot-plus drops is insane. And Florence is pretty far out of the way. I-10 is 30 miles away, which isn't too bad, I guess. But, as with everything related to Arizona getting a park, let's way to see if this plays out. My money's on this being another family fun park like that guy wanted to start near Eloy: Not gonna happen.
  23. You're overgeneralizing it. We should be more worried about the strangelets it may create. But we'll find out if time travel is possible once this thing gets started up!
