If someone embeds a photo (not attaches it to their post), it's easier to quote it. Otherwise, you'd have to get the URL of the image in the post itself.

Correct NoLimits G-Force Colors
haux replied to Real's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^ I was thinking the same thing. People are going differ on their G spikes depending on whether or not you're using this version. -
Coaster101 Photography Contest
haux replied to coasterdude5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What happens with these? I'm kind of copyright-weird about photos, and I don't want my photo showing up all over the Internet without my name attached. Edit: I entered. -

Awesome. As a journalist, I enjoyed your photo trip report a lot. Thank you. Someday I hope to visit the Newseum.

I've heard the giant flume rumor for years. The park does need another water ride, though I'd like to see a log flume. -

NLDC Closing

Noooo! With the NLDC shutting down, we won't have people complaining here when someone links to it instead of uploading the pictures to their post. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Oh, no. Work stories. I worked at CP the summers of 2003, 2004 and 2005, and I visited as a guest more than 100 times between 2007 and 2008. I've got plenty of stories. Gross stories, fun stories, horror stories. -
NLDC Closing

NoLimits is still really popular. Lots of parks use NL footage when rides are announced. It's weird that things seem to be falling apart on the fan level. -

Supporting's the best part of making a coaster, Real. -
How's New Mexico Rattler running? I rode it in 2005 and was planning on trying to visit this year. It's a fantastic coaster, and I hope it's still running well.

Maverick Statix from CoasterDynamix
haux replied to Jack Rimer's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Too bad they're Statix. A friend of mine is making a recreation of Maverick. He's pretty far along, but I don't think he's touched it in awhile. -

If SOB closed every time an injury is reported it would probably never be open. Must be a pretty big lawsuit or settlement in the making. Or it's a big injury. There aren't any details, so we don't know. -

Yep. I just saw that. Cincinnati.com is reporting it's an alleged head injury. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
haux replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This thread makes me want to go to a park and just spout off as much nonsense as I can to see if it'll show up here. Stuff like "I heard they took the back car off of Terminator because people fell out, so they replaced it with that weight box." Or "The story on the Incredible Hulk coaster is real." Maybe "Some guy cut in line at Corkscrew once, and someone pushed his head into the queue rail, killing him." The best one I've heard: "Magnum XL-200 is the most cloned coaster in the world." That was from a ride host on Magnum in 2003. -
There isn't much to do in the area. Cleveland has the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You can catch a ferry to one of the Lake Erie islands, which have a lot to do, especially if you like to drink. You can also visit the Toledo Zoo, which is about an hour west. It's apparently one of the best zoos of its size in the country. South of Sandusky are some caverns you may visit called the Seneca Caverns.

That support structure is pretty weird.

Wicked Twister (CP) [NL]
haux replied to Real's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
All right, Real. 10/10. This is an excellent recreation, and I can't find anything wrong with it that can be counted against you, so I'm going to go with a fake jerk rating. The fence leading up to the ramp to the station seems off. I recall being able to stand on the ramp and still have the black fence in the way of the beach view until you get a little higher up. There's no Freeway line. Though the park doesn't do Freeway anymore, the queue is still there. There's no test seat at the entrance. The flags in a circle aren't that close to the entrance. They should be a little farther back. There also was no steel Wicked Twister logo on the ground in the middle of the circle of flags. The trash cans along the fence by the launch track all face the wrong way. Cedar Point puts its trash cans facing the flow of traffic. Both openings should be pointing the direction guests walk. The exit ramp is a little off. There are two lanes to exit. You also could have put up the exit doors. The flags are most likely facing the wrong way. The wind usually comes straight off the lake, so they'd probably be facing a little more to the south. You didn't put in the new supports. The two yellow supports on each end after the teal supports aren't there. There were no cubbies in the station to put your shoes. And there was no trash can in the station. You didn't use brakes to slow the train. Wicked Twister has brakes. Actually, that could be a real critique. I guess that's all. -
Millennium Force Cable
haux replied to CPmaverick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I worked there and visited a couple hundred times over the past couple of seasons. Sure, it stacked, but after awhile, the crew seemed pretty efficient. I seldom stopped in the brakes before the unloading station. No biggie, though. It's not like you stop on the lift hill. -
Welcome back, Real. I'm looking forward to this coaster.

Millennium Force Cable
haux replied to CPmaverick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Millennium Force rarely stacks because when it's timed right, one train is on the lift hill, one train is in the loading station, and one train is in the unloading station. If you're pulling into the brakes, a train will start heading up the lift, the next train starts heading into the station, and your train heads into the unloading station. The cottages aren't THAT far. They're a bit of a walk from the entrance, but it's five minutes tops. As for the bug in the pool, what does telling the lifeguard do? What should the lifeguard have done? Closed the pool and put up signs warning people that there are insects there? You're outdoors, bugs live there. What would management do? The park can't really do anything about the bugs.
