  1. Mostly in the way that people keep saying they bet it's a GCI or Gravity Group or any number of things the park has said it's not getting. You're giving Cedar Point too much credit. Dude really? You're knocking everyone else's ideas but have yet to offer anything up of your own. I'm not really knocking anyone. But the park specifically said it's not a Gravity Group or a GCI, yet people keep saying, "I bet it's a GCI!" And he really is giving the park too much credit. Saying the ride won't get you wet but saying "maybe they meant drenched" is a little ridiculous. For my own ideas, why should I offer any? I don't know what it is. I'm waiting for the announcement. No biggie.
  2. A Twitter update does imply that Paddlewheel Excursions won't go away: "Them Canfield's & McGee's will still be feudin' down river next year..." Too bad the PR people don't understand plurals.

  4. This thread is quickly becoming idiotic. I hope CP hurries up the announcement and disappoints people. When is it? Have they given a date, or are they just saying they'll drop hints all week?
  5. This Whyte Lightning thing is a little confusing. I thought they were teasing that at Carowinds, and that's Intimidator. What's this theme now? Is Cedar Point getting it, or is CP getting another Intimidator? Is Whyte Lightning another thing being built that hasn't been announced yet?
  6. Most in a day: 50 rides on Raptor. Most-ridden coaster: 1,143 rides on Raptor.
  7. Why would they even joke about Togo? Does Togo even make coasters anymore? Do they expect people to believe they'd get King Cobra?
  8. That's not anything wrong. It is the ride's vertical drop. It may not be vertical, but it goes from one height to another. It's a drop along the vertical plane. That's why it's called the vertical drop.
  9. Can we say an entire thread? Seriously. That thread's ridiculous. People are getting so mad that someone got a coaster fact wrong. What an idiot! Rawr! That thread could have its own parody thread like this one. There are quotes every page that are just gold.
  10. ^ Correct. It's the local affiliate. Rupert Murdoch has nothing to do with it except the name. I love the speculation without any details. Then it turns out to be wrong!
  11. Who cares what region Virginia's in? This coaster's still being built, and it's still got a really wacky support structure.
  12. I SO want to say something sarcastic here. Intamin did have to rework a section of Maverick track, apparently because of excessive g-forces. Just my eyeballing is telling me that transition could be trouble. Just sayin', is all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maverick_%28roller_coaster%29 But a transition wasn't changed on Maverick. It was the heartline roll. This coaster should be fine. Besides, if Intamin saw a problem with Maverick's transitions, the transitions on Intimidator 305 likely would be modified versions of Maverick's. Because of the speed and the trains, I'm sure they'll be a bit more spread out than Maverick's quick transitions.
  13. I like speed, so this ride looks pretty cool. I bet it tears through every element there. Any idea of the height of that second hill? It looks like it'll be about 180 feet. That should be some good airtime. I bet your eyelids will flap for the first 3,000 feet on this thing. Edit: I can't wait to see that support structure in photos. That's insane. It reminds me of Superman: Krypton Coaster.
  14. You really should write E-stop. Use a hyphen. That colon makes it look pretty confusing, especially if that's the alphabetical system you use. "E:stop" just looks odd, and it's not really grammatically correct. Could we define really simple things like the colors of G-forces? Like red G's, yellow G's and green G's. We should probably try to make this like a simple complement to the read-me that comes with the program. We could use the jargon we've all become familiar with. Maybe we could name the manufacturer of the coaster types. Like the corkscrew coaster is Arrow or Vekoma.
  15. Actually, I think a NoLimits dictionary is an excellent idea. There are a lot of newbies who don't take the time to learn it, and the terminology is so jargony now that the program's been out for years, they're not going to find any answers by searching key words. They'll just find people saying "that's too pumpy" or "I like pressing 'I' to make a straight lift." We could have a sticky thread where we show examples in rides or images of all the issues people could have with NoLimits. The first post would have to have links to all the answers. That way it'd be a little easier to weed through 20 pages. Real's got a point.
  16. I'm sure more people knew of the park's plans before the Internet was as big as it is now. Now, they're not going to be telling ride hosts or team leaders. Maybe supervisors they know can keep it quiet, but the people in the know most likely have greatly been reduced since 1993.
  17. Ride hosts don't know anything about the new ride, and they certainly wouldn't be telling you. I worked there for three summers, and once one little rumor gets started among the employees, they all think they know it. Last year, I heard from numerous ride hosts that it was the last season for Snake River Falls. It's still there! Don't listen to them. Why would a simple ride host know? They get paid the second-lowest wage.
  18. Here's a thread with answers to basically this same question.
  19. To add to what RCFreak said, try to keep about an inch or a little more between "the boys" and the seat. That way, with your knees bending slightly to take most of the forces, you're not crushing your nuts every time the coaster pulls more than 2 G's.
  20. ^ Because people like you get so upset about it. I think it's a great game.
  21. They already know what they are building, they just want to see if people guess it right. Water ride is out since it is not an option. And apparently they are reading these type of forums as they know of all the different speculations about the "island" being turned into a halloween thing.....given that was one of the options, and how many gp type people would look at that website and really understand what all that meant anyway? I'm being really, really facetious in this thread.
  22. They're throwing you off! It's none of the above. Besides, a poll asking what the park will build? Will the most votes mean they build that? Ha.
