  1. I'm not too big a fan of HDR because a lot of the time the result looks too cartoonish and fake, and it's annoying. But you did a pretty good job without overdoing the levels. And it's good that it wasn't cloudy because clouds look horrid when HDR is overdone. Pretty cool. I've tried HDR at an amusement park, but I can't get too wide a range with my camera.
  2. It's all right. I didn't find it too thrilling. There were too many quick direction changes, and I think it could have benefited from another airtime hill or two. Speaking of direction changes, at least two are taken too quickly for the trains to handle. The wheels go through the part of the car above them. You have to watch it with the PTC trains. They simple can't handle really quick banking. Trailered trains like the Millennium Flyers or Morgan trains work better. There is no lateral support. At all! Your lift hill needs some, but the turns really need them. Sure, the ride's got steel supports, but it still needs lateral supports. The turn between the brake segments doesn't need to be banked. I thought that was odd. It's fast paced and has some good airtime, which I liked. But I felt it was a little too much side to side. Pretty good work. 6/10.
  3. Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but it's what I found. Does anyone have this on PC? If so, are you a member of any squads or just play in whatever server you find? I play a lot, and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to partake in shooting me. I'm bad at it.
  4. I'll be at Raptor, as usual. And I think I'll stick around till closing tomorrow. I usually leave early because I'm an old man, but ERT on Magnum is fine with me.
  5. Just when I thought the nitpicking was out, they pull it back in. And I will argue that those supports aren't gray. They're beige or tan.
  6. That's a really deep blue. It should look good.
  7. Have you ever been to an airport? The people behind most of the ticket counters seem none too happy to be there. But that's not what this is about. Three-minute dispatch times? Give me a break. Why would they leave the gates closed while that entire train is just sitting in the station with the restraints up and totally ready to load? Did you complain?
  8. I have to agree. Dollywood's is really cool, but I blame that mostly on the engine. It's a fantastic engine. The course is pretty cool because it goes out into the woods, and it goes fast.
  9. Here's hoping it's me! Too bad I'm going to miss the announcement. I'll be away for a job interview.
  10. I've heard a couple of things about it. There must be an employee or two spreading rumors. One was that the ride was being removed but would be replaced with another water ride sort of like White Water Landing. Another rumor was that Snake River Falls was being removed for a B&M dive machine, but that fell through. I take all of these with a grain of salt. I don't know why the park would get rid of a ride that is really popular on hot days and bring the water ride total down even more. We'll see, though, as usual.
  11. Just getting the ride started now is the park being 100 percent positive it'll be ready for next season. As for the entire trackwork being finished by Haunt, I sort of have my doubts. But we'll see. Adena Corp. is fast.
  12. ^ No. Holiday World doesn't have $20 million to drop on a new coaster. Wasn't the budget for next season's improvement less than $10 million?
  13. One of my friends was there last weekend, and he's friends with Don Helbig, the public relations manager at Kings Island. He said the park expects to have the entire track up before the park closes for the season. That'll get people talking!
  14. I'm with everyone else. Why wasn't the layout released when the ride was announced? This is so weird. One image in the concept art looks like part of a pretzel loop. The same image also apparently shows a block brake.
  15. First: Hahahahahahahaha! Second: So do these people just replace everything cool with fake stuff and claim it's just as good? Because a tofu dog isn't nearly as good as a beef hot dog. And virtual animals would be so lame. Come touch the robotic ray!
  16. As I was out for my walk today, a Canadian National train passed by. The first seven or eight cars were stacked with vehicle frames. They may have been truck frames since I saw a slot for a hitch on the frames. The train also had vehicles already put together, numerous box cars and six or seven cars labeled sulfuric acid. I had no idea such a variety of things would travel on one train.
  17. I doubt it's old age. I get tunnel vision from Millennium Force's first drop every single time, and I'm 25. High G-forces will get you no matter what your age.
  18. One thing I've noticed about B&M's magnetic brake runs is that they take up less space horizontally. They're at a steeper angle than friction brakes. I wonder if that's got any sort of advantage to the ride.
  19. But Deja Vu is taller than Voyage. A flaw in your logic!
  20. Silver Bullet's got 'em. So does Patriot. They're not on every new B&M, but the company has really started putting them on new coasters. I don't think Black Mamba has them.
  21. Haha. I thought this was a spam post at first. To my surprise, TTD sort of hits me in the jewels. Immediately following the launch, when the catch car releases, the train shakes a little. I always feel the force in the seat right between my legs. Maybe I should wear a jock strap to ride TTD.
  22. If it's Deja Vu, I hope the animation Paula's talking about isn't the same one Six Flags used when the ride was announced.
  23. Maybe it's a multi-car drop tower. I don't know how that'll work, but Holiday World will figure it out. I hope they name it Mustang.
  24. Why do people bother linking to another site anyway? Eventually the link will be dead, and we'll need someone to upload it. It seems like more people are using this method than having it hosted on this site. That said, it's a pretty good ride. Without the terrain and objects, it would be a decent inverted coaster. You did a really good job on the objects and the close calls. The helix was a little bumpy, but the rest of the ride was pretty smooth. There are high G-forces and a touch of airtime, which I enjoyed. I didn't like the queue line, but that's just because this ride would be terrible to marathon if there were no crowds. But the theming was really good. Oh, and your T-shirts were boring. Great work, though. A++ would ride again.
  25. What do the T-shirts say? Prowler? Or "Coming in 2009! Something?"
