  1. I actually was *at* She Said Boom a couple of days ago, and hadn't heard of it beforehand. So I was like "HOLY CRAP" when I noticed the name of it when I walked by. So uh I guess it's pointless to tell you that I saw the store with your screen name. There goes my story.
  2. 5/10. And knowing all of the answers doesn't mean you "don't have a life" or are a "loser". Knowing random trivia does not equal no life.
  3. PKD is about the same distance from any other Cedar Fair park. How far is Knott's from PGA? This is garbage, btw and I definately am not getting a Wonderland pass next year [especially since they ruined Wild Beast].
  4. I hate you for having a good time at this place. Hate. Our time sucked hardcore.
  5. ^^ They won't lose any money by not offering the park hopper abilities with the pass, however they may GAIN money from those who are still willing to go to other CF parks and pay full gate price. Granted, it would be an absolutely minimal financial gain, but maybe that's what they're going for?
  6. Well PCW is pretty far from any of the other parks, but that can also be said for anyone at any of the other Paramount parks. With the new Cedar Fair merger, those in Ohio are close to other parks, as are those in California. Wonderland is about five hours from Geauga Lake, six from CP and eight from PKI [by car]... probably about the same distance from other Cedar Fair parks as PKD and Carowinds, so location probably isn't an overwhelming factor in the decision. I'll just agree with Carnage's opinion that not many PCW passholders use the pass at other parks enough to justify allowing the few who do use it free entry at them. But it still annoys the hell out of me.
  7. I sat in the front seat, but never got a chance to ride Damn you, mother nature.
  8. Well this is bogus. Hopefully they re-think things. I certainly will not be purchasing a Season's Pass at Wonderland if this is the case [we had plans to hit Cedar Point and possibly Carowinds and Kings Dominion next year].
  9. Any idea of the pricing of Flash Passes at either La Ronde or SFNE?
  10. I've been on it twice [98 and 01] and I still class it as my least favourite coaster
  11. We made a trip out there in June and skipped Predator due to one train operation and an hour long line. Since Nikki doesn't have the credit, we were planning on going back for another trip. Looks like we won't have to now. I, personally, am relieved about it.
  12. Standing outside of Holiday World: Hick girl: "Raven's pretty tall, I think it's nine feet tall." Inbred brother/lover: "Well it's taller than the Legend right?" Sex partner/sister: "No, Legend's gotta be ten feet tall."
  13. Our Dorney Park experiences were much different I found Talon to be quite an enjoyable ride, and the only coaster at the park which I would've had fun making a second visit to the place for. I thought Steel Force was a heavily braked snoozer, especially on the way back to the station, and that Hydra was neat but didn't particularly hold any sort of awesomeness in riding. The rest of the park we found to be utterly forgettable. Odd how opinions can be so different
  14. Funny. I was discussing this topic with shesaidboom a couple of days ago and lo and behold, it gets bumped. My screen name obviously doesn't come up with anything good, so I put in another name I use [grind your soul]: slur your dingo!!!
  15. That launch of airtime after the first hill is awesome. But that's about the only part I liked on Skyliner. It was decent enough but nothing special. However I enjoyed your pictures. I was excited that there was a ballpark right there and was hoping that there'd be a game so I could drag my girlfriend to see it. But no. And nice picture of the crash, too. Looks like it happened right before you got there.
  16. ^ agreed. We, too, had similar experiences when we were there. And we were left wondering "What the hell is all this praise for?"
  17. Uhh Grizzly?.. its not like Thunderhead or even Cornball Express good, but its probably best in the chain. And at night its everything the Beast SHOULD be, but of course isn't since the Beast sucks. I didn't like the Grizzly. Maybe it was where I was sitting, but I got nothing out of it. It's not common knowledge. Most people I've encountered think Wonderland is the be all end all of parks. And yes, lots of Canadians do go to Cedar Point. I want to go back. I miss Cedar Point.
  18. Of the three I've been to: 1 - PCW 2 - PKD 3 - PKI On the visual scale. PCW is generally a nice park, although recently it's become more of a corporate dump with a lot less charm than it used to have. I think PKI as basically a gigantic county fair with little charm or theming. Basically you walk along a cement path and into the queue. Nothing nice plants/tree wise to catch your eye. PKD was nice enough, although it's the vaguest in my memory since I've only been twice [1998 and 2005]. Coasters-wise: 1 PKD 2 PKI 3 PCW PCW has a large selection of mediocre at best coasters. Vortex is top notch, however everything else is of much lower quality. The one ride that I really loved [Wild Beast] got horribly tamed this year and has lost a lot of the fun that I once had while riding it. All of their other coasters had been tamed long ago, or were tame to begin with. Except Italian Job. That's just a fun ride. I also don't quite understand the infatuation with the park's flat rides. We go there seven or eight times a year [since it's like, a five minute drive from my house], and rarely do we go on any flats outside of Shockwave, Psyclone, Sol Loco and ... actually that may be it. Nightmares is decent enough, the Jump2 is meh, I don't like the program on the Top Spin, and the rest is usual amusement park fodder. So yeah, I used to get all defensive when peeps hated on my home park, but I keep enjoying it less and less so I may have to jump on the bandwagon soon. ps. PKD's coaster selection is okay but lacking a good woodie, and I only like three coasters at PKI: Adventure Express, Outer Limits and Top Gun.
  19. Depending on when you go, I'm going to say that doing SFNE and Lake Compounce in a day is going to be hard work From everything I've heard, SFNE is at least a one-day park, especially on a crowded day [which is what I will assume you'll face in August]. If you're more for experiencing the atmosphere of a park rather than rushing in, getting the credits and moving on, then I'd try and leave myself some more time at all the parks. It's not the quanitity of credits, but how much fun you have getting them At least that's how I think.
  20. Looks neat from above - wonder what it'll look like from the side/profile view. I'll definately be heading there next year.
  21. The only major ones were Wicked Twister at CP. We got an exit pass for that. And sorta Boomerang at DL. We needed the credit and waited while two other people were "trapped" in the back seat for about 45 minutes. We got two exit passes out of it, so that was solid.
  22. Also, Lakemont is located behind the baseball stadium, so it's not exactly hard to get to. I still find that awesome.
  23. Cedar Point is usually very reliable. I've not gone a whole lot [i think we've been on three seperate trips for a total of eight or nine days in the park], but of all of those times, the only ride that was closed for more than a few hours was Top Thrill Dragster. So you should be fine.
  24. I'm confused. What's coming to Canada?
