  1. Damnit! Why torture me with these pics now that we've had to scrap our trip to Dollywood
  2. If it's a nice day, maybe
  3. CHOOSE NEITHER. THEN WE NEVER HAVE TO GO TO NEW JERSEY *OR* MONTREAL!
  4. But it's in New Jersey, which nullifies any goodness that it may contain.
  5. NOT WORTH IT. NO SFGADV.
  6. Okay so this year's original "Angry Rhino Trip" had to be shelved due to lack of both time and funds. However Nikki and I still plan on making a week-long trip and hitting a few parks just to fill our coaster requirements! So far, we've planned to hit Carowinds, Busch Gardens Europe, and then a very quick stop at Kings Dominion for a ride on Volcano, Avalanche, and maybe Italian Job. We have one more park that we can hit during this week-long trek, however we need some outside opinions on the matter. So, here are the three choices: 1] HersheyPark 2] Kennywood 3] Six Flags America Now, normally, it would only be a two-horse race [the first two]. However, we've been to both of the first two parks before, and got all of the credits. We liked both of the parks, but we're creditwhores, so we always want to improve that count. Here are some questions I'd like opinions on: 1] Is SFA worth a trip? 2] Are their coasters even good? 3] Is the park suffering from the usual "Six Flags" problems [ie: poor reliability, bad management, ugly park] 4] What is the area surrounding the park like? Lots of traffic? Horribly busy? Ghetto as all hell? 5] Is it worth the new credits to go here over another park that we really liked and would like to return to at some point? 6] Should I eat carrots or peas for dinner with my meatloaf tonight? Okay, you can skip that last question But seriously guys, I need some opinions on SFA here Thanks!
  7. I agree with what Carnage said! imbordisux's suggestions were good but would require a lot of extra driving, money, and time to do. Thus, in the long run, it may be out of the question. I would probably say to spend an afternoon at Geauga Lake [you could easily get all the credits there during that span, including re-rides] and then drive to Cedar Point. Two days would easily suffice at Cedar Point [though, again, it's a definite "weekday only!" park]. My girlfriend and I scheduled three days at CP our first time there [during the week in late-May], and we had ridden all but one coaster [including TTD and MF] by the end of the first day, including a couple of re-rides. The second day was basically just going on the things we really loved from the first day, as well as a couple of assorted flat rides. I did a quick Google Maps check on the quickest route from Cedar Point to SFGAdv, and that route takes you fairly close to Kennywood, in Pittsburgh, and HersheyPark, in Hershey [both Pennsylvania]. I'd say that, with the time you save from not spending four days at both SFGAdv and CP, you could definitely do both of those parks. And speaking as a guy who has been to both and enjoyed both, I'd say that you probably should not pass up such a great opportunity. Not only do you get lots of good credits [Phantom's Revenge! Lightning Racer! Storm Runner! Great Bear! And more!], they're both very beautiful parks and HersheyPark is home of some great candy. I can't give any suggestions on SFGdv, as I have never and will most likely never go there. But I'd probably listen to Carnage, he sounds like a wise man. So that's my suggestions, anyway. And whichever route you do decide to go, have fun!
  8. I'd rather have Yanic Perreault than Todd Bertuzzi, let me say that right now. Leafs also didn't have to mortgage a ton of prospects and picks, and they got the best face-off man in the league, an All-Star and a guy who will easily hit 25 goals this season. I fail to see what's laughable about that. The big winners were the New York Islanders! Ryan Smyth! That's an insane trade! INSANE!
  9. And I thought I was the only hockey fan on this board. I'm basically a die-hard hockey fan, even though my fandom is relatively new [02/03 was my first "full season" as a major hockey fan]. I spend far too much time and money on researching, watching, and discussing the game and buying the jerseys [i am anxiously awaiting my Nashville Predators jersey's delivery to go along with my Leafs home and away, Sens away, Thrashers home and Finland national jerseys]. I'm a big Leafs fan first and foremost, but I also love the Sens and am a big Sabres, Thrashers and Preds fan. My favourite player is the Leafs' Wade Belak, though I also really like Buffalo's Maxim Afinogenov, Atlanta's Marian Hossa, Ottawa's Ray Emery, Nashville's Steve Sullivan and many others. That said, GO LEAFS GO.
  10. Vortex, though BBW was really good and I can't wait to ride it again.
  11. Disaster Transport Avalanche [PKD] Alpine Bobsled was closed when we went to TGE Avalanche is far superior to DT.
  12. It was fun, decent air and laughs, but it's a one-trick pony that brings nothing to the table but airtime. It's good for what it is, but nothing special at all. Probably the worst hyper I've been on.
  13. The one time I've been to a park alone [i stuck around after a shift at PCW to get some Wild Beast rides in], a couple of girls who I assume were barely into high school asked to get in front of me for the back seat. It was about a five minute wait, and yet they still asked. Their reasoning? "You're a single rider, would it be okay if we went ahead of you since there's two of us?" Yes, they seriously said this. I said, "Hey why should I wait more just because I'm alone?" and told them to go find a shorter line if they were that impatient. They basically just scoffed at me, gave me cut eye, the typical 13-year-old response, and walked off in a huff to find a shorter line.
  14. It's because you touch yourself at night. It's because you touch yourself at night. Psht, I ALREADY WON THIS RACE.
  15. I worked at a store at PCW a couple of years ago. PRO: get to work at an amusement park CON: don't get to ride anything PRO: get free passes and cheap parking to the park CON: working so much you never want to come to the park PRO: if you like working outside, this is mostly a good job CON: the general public are all idiots CON: management is generall pimply faced teenagers who get off on bossing around older people, so watch out CON: hours suck because you're working most of the times you would be coming to the park anyway, defeating the purpose of it CON: even if you like working outside, chances are it will be sweltering in the summer and it's rare for places at parks to have air conditioning, especially on rides or with food So there you go.
  16. Well I got here before Wes, so my day is complete! [and it's obvious you were baiting someone, I just happened to be the first one to reply] Your response of "LOL DAT MEENZ U MUST DO IT IF U SED I DO" is pretty juvenile and makes you look like a bigger whiner than you did before, so congrats.
  17. It's because you touch yourself at night.
  18. You got $725 worth of gifts and you're complaining? Jesus kid, people like you make me want to strangle things!!! Wow. "OH I ONLY GOT $725 WAHHHH MY PARENTS HATE ME" dagjbadgljbadgljbagjlkb As for me, I got what I wanted and am very happy with it.
  19. Lake Compounce. La Ronde. Those may be the only two parks we've been to that have "let us down".
  20. Yeah, it's definetly a one trick pony. Though that one moment is one of the biggest WTF moments I've ever had. Agreed. It really looks like a nothing ride. That last drop doesn't even look all that special. But, it delivers one of the most terrifying coaster moments around. I really like rides that look lame, but wind up rocking, like Cornball Express. Who would have thought that little kiddie looking coaster wouid rock so much? Am I the ONLY one who thinks Cyclops has moments other than the third drop? It might just be that I'm so light (19 years old and only 126 pounds), but I could not stay in my seat the entire ride I agree. for me there were at least two other poinst where there was some air, and I spent the whole ride laughing. That drop though - HOLY GUBSGUBS. I knew it was coming and I still almost died. It also made Nikki scream Others: -- Adventure Express at PKI, my favourite coaster at that park. -- Phoenix at Knoebel's. I thought it would be good, but not THAT good. -- Big Dipper at Geauga Lake. It was an afterthought to ride it, and ended up being awesome and deserving of a ton of re-rides. -- Lightning Racer at Hershey. It looked very good, but I hadn't really read or heard much about it so I went in not thinking it would blow me away like it did. -- Batman at SFGAm. I'd heard mixed reviews on Batman clones, and didn't expect much - possibly something similar to Talon - and was blown away. Non-stop intensity from start to finish! This thing was insane. There are probably a lot more - I like to underestimate things, rather than overestimate.
  21. Oh my God, Angry Rhino Trip!!!!! LOL!!! Let's see.. PCW or just your starting point, Holiday World, Beech Bend, Dollywood, SFOG, ?, BGW, PKD, Dorney or hershey?, Knoebel's.. no SFDL on the way home? why not? Not to mention you'll be driving right by SFKK in Louisville. And, that you could by a Maxx Pass and throw in CP , CFPKI and GL,. Starting point = my house [right next to PCW ] My house -> Holiday World -> Beech Bend -> Dollywood -> SFOG -> Carowinds -> BGW -> PKD - HersheyPark -> Knoebel's. We tried to minimize the amount of SF parks, since we don't want to get Six Flags passes. So SFOG is our only one. We also have no reason to return to SFKK or SFDL after our trips this past season, and we still haven't had a good experience at PKI so that's useless for us. We're planning a seperate trip to CP and GL next season, most likely during the TPR Mid-West trip. But Maxx Passes will most likely be purchased And hahaha @ the Homer face.
  22. It may still be factored in, but honestly I just forgot to put the marker next to it There are also a couple of parks that may or may not be added to the agenda, based on financial situations. We also may have to take a park or two off. We'll see. But it's still something to look forward to! Hopefully we can also meet up with the TPR Mid-West trip at Cedar Point as well. It'd be cool to meet some of y'all.
  23. Hopefully this season will pale in comparison to next season's... !!! Now, can you guess where we're planning on hitting? The blue/black dots represent stops on the trip! And yes, the rhino is our actual driving path. How awesome is that?!
