  3. Thanks for the update from a park we rarely see on here. Too bad about the SBNO coasters! Also, I think Tennessee Tornado was the last custom looping Arrow coaster (and X, if you count that).
  4. For an outdoorsy/adventure activity, you can canoe or kayak here: www.floridastateparks.org/bluespring/ It's about 35 miles from Orlando though, so you'd need a rental car to get there. In November there might be manatees (they come to the springs in cold weather). There's a nice little boardwalk hike too.
  5. I have a few: Lake Compounce Adventureland (Iowa) TPR!
  6. Awesome thread! I'm excited for your Xochimilco pictures - it's a very cool place.
  7. FSU doesn't need to stop Auburn, they need to match them. The question is - can FSU hang 40+ points on Auburn? LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Missouri have all shredded the Auburn defense this season.
  8. Labor day weekend in Atlanta is insane. It's not just a lesbian thing, it's the official black pride weekend, with 75,000 attendees. Add in Dragon*con, Decatur Bookfest, the college football kickoff game, three large music festivals and a NASCAR race, and Atlanta is a delightful mish-mash of humanity for the holiday weekend.
  9. Accroding to Vialand's twitter, Nefeskesen won't open until next spring. "Merhaba, Nefeskesen önümüzdeki bahar açılmış olacak. Tüm detayları çok yakında öğrenebilirsin" Google translation: "Hello, Breathtaking [Nefeskesen] will be opened next spring. You can learn all the details very soon" source
  10. A few of my photos of Atlanta. Midtown Atlanta Downtown from Georgia Tech View from my balcony Bank of America, the tallest skyscraper in the US outside of New York and Chicago
  11. A growlette of New Holland Dragon's Milk.
  12. There sure were some exciting games on Saturday! I love that Auburn knocked off Alabama in dramatic fashion, but I'm not happy with the outcomes of some of the other games. Michigan's gutsy 2-point conversion call was football at its best. The biggest rivalry, 114K in the big house, trip to the national championship possibly on the line, and it comes down to one play. Unfortunately the Wolverines couldn't topple the Buckeyes. In a typical classless move, Meyer won't suspend his player that was ejected from the game, kicked over the bench, and flipped off the stadium. The other dissapointment was the Georgia / Georgia Tech game. Tech looked awesome in the first quarter, slicing up UGA through the air. What!? Where has that version of Vad Lee been all year? But then they blew a 20 point lead and lost it in double overtime. Thrilling, but sad. The University (sic) of Georgia moves back in to the BCS rankings. My prediction: Florida State vs. Missouri in the BCS title game.
  13. I buy some stuff online, but I really try to support local businesses, especially tomorrow on "small business saturday." When you shop local, more of your money stays in your community and supports local jobs. You couldn't pay me to step foot in a big-box store on Black Friday! I already saw a video from this morning of someone getting trampled at Walmart by a guy trying to get a TV.
  14. Barbarian 174 IPA and Cumbres Inka Pale Ale made with purple corn. Both brewed in Lima, Peru. Lima has a fledgling but growing craft beer scene.
  15. Looks like it's still not open yet, but at least they took the flag off the track on the tophat: Source
  16. Holy cow, I just got mine in the mail today! My person wins for being the speediest! Hmm, wonder if I can resist and wait until December to open it...
  17. Sounds fun, count me in this year! I like pretty much anything. I'm partial to cities, maps, beer, skyscrapers, the Simpsons, and Notre Dame.
  18. Another angle on the new coaster: Source.
  19. There's a really interesting book called "The Fortune Cookie Chronicles" about the evolution of "Chinese" food in America and around the world, and how it has influenced American culture. fortunecookiechronicles.com/ Or you can watch the TED talk about it: Thanks for all of the updates, I'm enjoying this trip report from your unique perspective!
  20. Did anybody else notice they called it a "giagacoaster"? They must mean "geaugacoaster" and Cedar Fair is putting in a giga at Geauga Lake! Seriously, I would take this all with a grain of salt considering they say 65mph, can't spell gigacoaster, and show a picture of a wingrider saying it's "suspended from above." Ah, local reporters.
  21. I thought Budweiser was America's answer to Budweiser?
  22. Excellent trip report; I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for posting!
  23. Looking really bad... this is a HUGE fire!
