  1. ^Yes! Although it was probably overkill, we could have just said "boo" and Neil would have jumped three feet. (We love you, Neil!) Ken, that picture of Bandit is great because there's a guy holding his head. "Why oh why did I ride that awful coaster?" Also, we got stuck on the brake run of Bandit for a while. Man was that "fun. "
  2. Awesome, thanks for the TR of this park. I would love to visit Colombia to visit Bogota, Cartagena, and the two big amusement parks.
  3. In addition to some mentioned above (SFoG for Atlanta, Orlando parks), I've seen Clementon Park when flying into Philadelphia, Boomers/Dania Beach flying in to Ft. Lauderdale, and I guess technically the roof over Nickelodeon Universe in Minneapolis.
  4. A few large scale things: -Visit all 50 states (only have North Dakota and Hawaii left) -Visit the 50 largest metro areas in the US (Sacramento, San Jose, Austin, Jacksonville, Raleigh, and Salt Lake City left to visit) -Travel to the Southern Hemisphere. I would love to go to Argentina, Peru, Australia, New Zealand... And some more specific things: -Machu Picchu -Iguassu Falls -Meroe And, just for fun, some of the most amazing places I've ever been (add these to your bucket list!): -Seoul, South Korea -Islamic Cairo -Meteora, Greece -Mezquita de Cordoba, Spain -Angkor Temples, especially Beng Mealea -Lisbon, Portugal -Yellowstone National Park -Dalton Highway, Alaska -Jerusalem -Mekong Delta, Vietnam
  5. Another vote for Wooden Warrior. It's a top ten woodie.
  6. ^It has not been a couple of days, it's been less than 24 hours. Please give others a chance to post when they have a correct answer. (The one you posted is Grand Canyon - Bugok Hawaii. Now it's zachclarke2's turn). *EDIT - don't mean for that to sound rude at all! Just trying to make sure people get a fair chance to post if they answer correctly.
  7. ^The very unique and short lived Galaxie Express in Germany. Next:

  9. I'm really enjoying this TR. Did you get a chance to try Fukuoka ramen (tonkotsu)? So delicious! Looking forward to hearing about Korea... last year I did the reverse direction, going from Gyeongju to Busan by bus and then taking the ferry to Fukuoka before heading up to Tokyo.
  10. Looks like major damage to "Looping Coaster" and "Mighty Mouse" at Funtown Pier as well: source: http://mildlyamused.tumblr.com/post/34633862455/funtown-pier-at-seaside-park-in-new-jersey-is source: Flooding around Gillain's Wonderland Pier: source: http://www.imwan.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=482&p=2254466

  12. Awesome. Sounds like an amazing journey; can't wait to see the pics. I know it's a lot of work to put together a big photo trip report, so we appreciate it. On a related note, I miss South Korea!
  13. I think the ND/OU game is pretty wide open. I would not be surprised if Oklahoma wins by four touchdowns, if the game goes to overtime, or if the Irish defense pulls out a 10-6 victory. Florida should whomp on Georgia. They're better on nearly every metric except quarterback. But we all know how Aaron Murray does in big games. USC could falter at Arizona. Michigan/Nebraska has some pretty big implications for Big10 champ, which is very important since OSU is ineligible. Whichever team wins this game will likely go to the Rose Bowl. And let's not forget Mississippi State at Bama. Another huge clash of unbeatens.
  14. Which is exactly why we're shifting away from the silly system we have now.
  15. I'm going to say Korea. Delta has direct flights from Atlanta to Seoul, and it's an incredible country to visit. There are two amazing coasters in Seoul (T-Express and Atlantis Adventure). Of course you can't go wrong with Japan either, but Korea is a slightly more off-the-beaten-path option and right now is a fantastic time to go. It's much cheaper than Japan, but still has first world conveniences, delicious food, and great tourist sites.
  16. I did a 4-day one-way cruise on Holland America. Started in Seward, with stops in Glacier Bay, Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan, and ending in Vancouver BC. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time! A few tips: -The water can be rough on Alaskan cruises. Even if you've done a Carribean cruise with no problem, you might want to pack some motion sickness medicine just in case. -The Alaska Sealife Center in Seward is nice and worth going to if you like aquariums. The Seward Ale House is a little dive bar that's a good place to grab a beer. Both are walking distance from the cruise port and the train station. -Ketchikan is a neat little town. Make sure to walk down the boardwalk on Creek Street. Very quaint. The Potlatch Bar is a hole in the wall local bar - great place to talk to people who live there instead of just wandering from one tourist shop to the next. -If you stop in Haines, check out the Haines Brewing Company. It's a bit of a walk from the main part of town (maybe 20 minutes), but they have great beer and it's located on the remains of the set from the movie White Fang. -Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau is great. Maybe not as picturesque as some of the glaciers you'll see from the cruise ship, but you can get much closer to it (and even walk on it). Alaskan Brewing Co in Juneau is really good, but you'll have to take a bus or taxi to get there. We took the bus and it was actually pretty easy. -If you want to get good pictures, I recommend taking a camera with a good zoom. You'll see lots of marine life (whales, seals, etc) but they often won't be super close to the boat. Are you going to have any time in Alaska outside of the cruise? I highly recommend getting a rental car and heading up to Denali National Park and/or checking out more of the Kenai Penninsula. Even the Dalton Highway if you have the time and guts. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Have fun!
  17. Fantastic TR, keep up the good work. Can't wait to see more of the parks.
  18. John L. Smith is hilariously ridiculous. I wish he was still Michigan State's coach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PU-TnL_GDI
  19. The mini-UK trip looks fantastic. I haven't been to the UK yet, so this looks like the perfect opportunity to go. Also the Mexico trip is interesting. I went earlier this year, and I highly recommend that people visit. It would be a good first-time international TPR trip for Americans, as its close/cheap/short.
  20. Had a great time at the TN/NC State game even though the score got a bit lopsided by the end. Apparently somebody fell over the railing and died, but we didn't see it at all. GA Tech / VA Tech was great, although GA Tech had no business losing that game. Same question here - is GA Tech under-rated this year, or is VA Tech once again over-rated?
  21. ^I have to agree. Once you're going to more than 3 or 4 parks in a row, it's just exhausting to do all of the planning, booking, driving, etc... not to mention you won't get any ERT or added perks. More power to you if you can plan a two week coaster trip, but a tour is the easier and more enjoyable thing to do!
  22. I'm also excited for this ride! I think it will be a great family-friendly addition. I rode the Star Flyer at Holiday Park and it was really fun. The 40mph breeze will be a nice way to cool off during the hot Georgia summers.
