Looks like Sierra Tonante got some much needed retracking http://www.theparks.it/plugin/album_100.php?immagine=http://www.theparks.it/img_italia/mira06_W&num=023&end=35&start= http://www.theparks.it/plugin/album_100.php?immagine=http://www.theparks.it/img_italia/mira06_W&num=024&end=35&start= -
They werent removed. Thats a Move It 18, the smallest of the KMG MoveIt rides. The 'common' version is Move It 24, which has 6 arms, and then theres Move It 32 which is the largest one. Here you can see pictures of MoveIt 18, one of the ugliest rides KMG has ever made in my opinion http://www.feteforaine.net/reportagesm/moveit/index.htm Edit: Nevermind about that! I didnt look at the picture properly and I assumed that it was a Move It 18, but I was clearly wrong!

FINLAND WINS THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST!!!!

The voting is a joke. All the countries votes for their neighbors no matter how crappy the songs are... -
This hill on Thundercoaster in the backseat. Its nothing special when the weather is good because it usually goes quite slow at this point, but when its raining its flying over this hill giving the most extreme ejector airtime I have ever felt on a wooden coaster for the riders in the backseat. It can be quite painfull though if you have a few inches of space between you and the restraints because you are taking off like a rocket

Trip Reaport Tusenfryd 20th may 06
viking86 replied to jALIg's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I went to Tusenfryd the weekend after opening day and I had a blast. Speedmonster isnt that intense, but its still great fun. I didnt find the large turn after the pretzel loop boring at all. I liked that part because it just went faster and faster and faster. The only part which dissappointed me a bit was the hill through the pretzel loop. Btw I thought Thundercoaster was fantastic in the rain. When the track is dry its almost boring, but in the rain it becomes a completely different ride. Floater airtime becomes ejector airtime, especially in the back seat. I didnt find it that painfull either with the exception of the hill where they take your picture in the backseat. That hill has the most extreme ejector airtime I have ever experienced on a wooden coaster. I do think that Thundercoaster is a bit too rough, but at the same time its awesome because it really feels out of control. I havent had so much fun on Thundercoaster since my first rides on it in 2002, and it has dethroned Balder as my number one wooden coaster. Thats only when its raining though And youre right about the prices at Tusenfryd. The food there is REALLY expensive and its not that great either. Heres my pictures from Tusenfryd http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25014 Nice trip report! Yngve "wishes Speedmonster was closer" Oestbye -

WAAAAAAAY better!!!! The speed on the S&S towers is controlled, so you get a quick acceleration on the top but after a very short while it just moves downwards with what seems like constant speed and the effect of falling is gone. The cars on Intamin towers are rolling on vertical tracks and are only affected by gravity once they are realesed. Because of this the speed just keeps increasing until you hit the brakes! S&S towers are like observation towers compared to Intamin's tower rides! -

TR- Thorpe Park 13/05/06

I thought Nemesis Inferno was better than Colossus. In my opinion, Colossus has an even more boring layout. And I agree that its very uncomfortable at the moment. Yngve "why am I the only one who thought Rush was rather lame?" Oestbye -
Scenery that looks terrible!
viking86 replied to coasterguy4's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While its not something that looks horrible from the lack of maintenance, I cant stand the flags made of metal on the launch on Speedmonster -
I forgot to mention it, but the pictures should show it pretty well. The park was TOTALLY dead saturday. A bit more people sunday, but still very quiet. They were running two trains on Speedmonster, Thundercoaster and Supersplash, and Speedmonster was the only ride in the park which wasnt walk-on. It may have been wet and cold, but I dont think I have ever had so much fun at Tusenfryd before! I also cant belive how amazing Thundercoaster is when its raining. When its dry its 'just alright', but once the track gets wet it becomes a completely different coaster. The difference in speed and forces is huge! Thundercoaster is now back as my number one wooden coaster above Balder, but only when its wet!

PART 2 The entrance to Tusenfryd looks REALLY great now! At this point it felt great to know that I was going to go back there the next day! I hope you have enjoyed the pictures. It was very hard to get good pictures as it was quite dark both days! One of the last trains of the day. Awesome twisting Intamin-thing!!! WRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!! The launch wasnt as intense as I hoped for, but it was still very fun! Check out the massive queue later in the day! The corkscrew is one of my favorite parts on this ride. Its just so perfect! These hills were awesome! Almost a tad rough in the backseat, but not painfull at all. *Insert Intamin screeching sound here* Heres the only part of the ride that I was expecting to the better. How awesome is that?? The pretzel loop was really cool! Floater airtime/hangtime at the top and really strong G-forces at the bottom! And up they go... Greg & Andy getting launched. C'mon guys, you are on an Intamin ride! SMILE!!! Heres Greg & Andy standing in front of the awesome Speedmonster!

Okay, so the weekend after opening day I travelled across the mountains to Tusenfryd, Norway's only amusement park with adult rides, to check out their new Intamin rocket coaster called Speedmonster. I met up with Andy & Greg, some friends of me from England. You may have seen them before in Robb's Blackpool Pleasure Beach updates. I was very excited to ride it as the only launched coaster I had ridden before was Kanonen at Liseberg, and this looked so much better. I was not dissappointed.... I dont want to write a long boring text so I'll just bring on the pictures: PART 1 And a S&S Spaceshot which is one of the few good ones I have ridden. There is also a great view from the top as its located at the highest point in the park. Part 2 is coming up.... Tusenfryd also have one of these Zamperla Dragon coasters. It didnt last long though. The same cant be said about Thundercoaster which were closed for 1 1/2 hours after getting stuck at the top with passengers onboard (in the rain!) Yes, that is a Vekoma ride stuck on the lifthill. Backseat riders: Weeeeeeeee! Frontseat riders: OWWW F***ING H**L SH*T OUCH!!!!! Andy standing in front of his favorite ride at Tusenfryd! Greg didnt want to ride, and I passed aswell since I already knew how crappy that ride is. I was surprised the fountains were on, but they didnt make the passengers very wet. Can you guess who Andy is??? Andy then decided that he wanted to try the Mondial Roll-Over. Me and Andy even stayed in the boat for three or four rides without leaving. (check out the very wrong blue track in the background) I dont know if they raised the track or lowered the water, but atleast we didnt get very wet on it. As you can see it was really busy! (they were actually running 2 boats on it) Im always surprised by how good that drop is! Its cold, its raining, theres still some snow left on the ground and were off to ride Supersplash Andy was the only one who didnt have the credit, but he didnt want to ride alone so I rode it with him. As you can see we are very excited ..IS a credit! (check out all the wheels that brings this coaster to its highest point) No Andy, thats not a credit! This one however... This hill in the backseat in the rain has the most extreme ejector airtime I have ever felt on a wooden coaster. With a few inches of space and some slack on my seatbelt I went like a rocket into my lapbar. If it only was running like this all the time. I ...it was FLYING!!! Seriously, it felt like it was going WAY too fast!! It was just amazing! Rough as hell, but amazing!! I havent had rides that good since my first rides on it in 2002! We then headed off to Thundercoaster. Our first ride wasnt very impressive, with the airtime not being very strong, but when it started raining.... Weeee corkscrew!!!! Klank, klank, klank, klank,..... The Arrow train had shiny new wheels, but the ride didnt feel any different. Not too smooth, but not too rough either. Loopen, the parks star-attraction for many years until Thundercoaster opened in 2001. And if you were wondering..... YES that is some snow left on the ground!!! So we got our first ride on Speedmonster and it was awesome. I will post more pictures of it. But lets check out the rest of the park first... The awesome train hitting the VERY short brakerun! We arrived at the park about an hour after opening so we were delighted to see that the queue wasnt any longer than this. Heres Speedmonster, the reason we came to Tusenfryd, flying above the escalator between the park entrance and the rest of the park.

I have ridden the one at Gardaland. It was okay. Not uncomfortable like I expected it to be, but not very exciting. Once you have ridden it you dont feel the need to get back in the queue again... -
Some Questions about Pepsi Max Big One
viking86 replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the first drop was re-profiled quite early, although I could be wrong. If you look at the distance between the track and the box supports on the first drop you will see the difference. It seems that after the re-profiling the drop isnt quite as steep. Edit: Hmmm looks like someone was faster than me.... -
Thundercoaster at Tusenfryd was amazing when it opened, but now its really rough and slow. However, once it starts raining it becomes a completely different ride with insane ejector airtime. But its a shame that it has to be raining for the ride to be good...
-
Both arms up if its an exciting and not uber-painfull coaster as long as the restraints makes it possible. Riding Thundercoaster @ Tusenfryd with both arms up in the rain was amazing because it throws you around so much. Wild Train @ Erlebnispark Strasswalchen was also awesome with both arms in the air. Gave me a major bruise on my left side though.

That pictures of SUF was taken on opening day. Most coasters will have dirt around them once they are done. Just look at this picture taken 2 years later. Looks much better http://rcdb.com/ig1976.htm?picture=61 -
