2016 Oklahoma State Fair Review
Midgetman82 replied to SouthFloridaFreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just like what everybody else said, this squashes KY's state fair for sure. You even have a transportable Enterprise! Great shots too, especially of Area 51. -

Storm Chaser has the lights on the back of each car as well. I'm assuming it's a standard for RMC's to do that. (I might be imagining it, but I believe I've seen them somewhere on B&M wing coasters as well.) -

I'm confident it could still complete the course if it was a speedy lift hill. The experience, though, would change for sure. The two humps at the top of the launch hill both give airtime, and that would be lost. For a first time experience to the park, I also probably would not have been let down by Dollywood if LR wasn't running. This is a kicka** park on its own, and would be made better once the drop tower is put in. -
The other side has a shaded patio area with chairs and tables, but I think it was used as a smoking area last season. It would be perfect if they turned it into a new restaurant somehow. I rode by the park on the highway and could see the pieces on the ground from there. I'm sure the loop would be clearly visible as well once it's up.

Played around with the update shortly after it came out since I won't be able to tinker with it more until a couple days from now. I was surprised to also hear a lot of mechanical and scream sound changes with coasters. It sure didn't hit me how much it was until I saw the list of shops. Going from 9 food shops to 16 food shops is quite a jump!

Zero-G is 140ft. That and the 120ft ARM tower at KK are my favorite drop towers ever for the same reasons you stated! I'm excited for Dollywood to get a drop tower! The park's uniqueness stands out even further with getting a Funtime Skyfall instead of an ARM, Intamin, or S&S tower. I saw some videos of them and they look pretty great. -
Cargo Shorts. Your thoughts?
Midgetman82 replied to ElectricUncleSam's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Couldn't care less if they're fashionable or not. Also all of my cargo shorts have buttoned side pockets, and ever since Storm Chaser opened my trust in having my phone in any pocket had decreased significantly. One close-call led me to leave my phone in a backpack before boarding most coasters, typically. -

Hit right-ctrl + right-shift + G to hide the top and bottom bars, and then F12 to do in-game screenshots. Park looks nice so far. I especially like your water rides! -
While the other two park sims have fully "released" their games, the Parkitect team continue pushing monthly updates and additions to their alphas, as well as doing monthly art streams building a new ride and other art pieces. Latest update for this month rolled out included a Zamperla Power Surge, new music, and more statistical info added in the game. I was able to catch the stream where they built this ride, and it was interesting seeing them model the entire ride from scratch in one sitting (animating came later).

What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
Midgetman82 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Any Arrow or Vekoma looper (Vortex at KI, Ninja/Blue Hawk at SFOG, etc.), or almost any flat ride that utilizes hanging purely from chain or wires. -

Voyage at around 65. I predict Thunderbird to surpass it next season since it's at 60. -
Interesting watching a Planet Coaster playthrough, and at 6:33 he mentions TPR's "We're on a Log Flume" video while making a log flume in the game. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]

Words cannot even begin to describe how refreshing it felt to be back in a true "theme" park outside of Florida, especially on the level that Dollywood had. It was my first time there this past weekend, and being less than 4 hours away, I had no more excuses not to go. The variety and uniqueness in the park's coaster lineup was incredible. No two coasters felt the same and all were very enjoyable. Mystery Mine ended up being my top guilty pleasure coaster due to its deep and consistent theming, but also managing to be just a tad jarring in some moments. Wild Eagle was plenty fun, especially with its placement high above the park. I had no idea what I was getting into with Blazing Fury, but was fairly impressed with its drops and surprises. Thunderhead was far better (and longer) than I had expected, and easily one of my top favorites at the park! Tennessee Tornado was a nice surprise considering how smooth it was for an Arrow looper. The force of the kick out of the station on Firechaser Express was surprisingly strong, but it was pretty excellent overall for a family coaster! There's no surprise on my thoughts on Lightning Rod. I don't mean to add to the broken record of people chanting "all hail LR," but bear with me when I say this coaster was an absolute riot! I did row 8 early that morning after park opening and completed a lap around the park once, then successfully convinced my brother to join with me at the park and I got to ride row 2 with him. I don't think I had ever seen him (or myself) smile and laugh so hard on a roller coaster in a long while! The evening rides on it when it was pitch black in the forest made for arguably one of the best night rides on a coaster I've ever experienced as well. The coaster is very fast-paced and completely bonkers, and was worth the face-numbing frigid winds received during my two night rides! There's still a lot I missed from doing the park (like the shows, and lots of the food), but I seriously hope to make a return visit someday!
