  1. That's pretty great to hear they're extending their hours! Love hearing this park slowly grow here and there. Been wanting to make a return trip since they put in the new slide complex.
  2. I've kept a sharp eye on VB over the past couple of days to hear of the park. It looks incredible! I'm hearing the green slide in the volcano is being touted as the most intense slide anyone's ever ridden. Also figured as much there would be a large rush of visitors to the park first day, but as someone over Twitter pointed out, it apparently had not hit capacity... that has me a little worried. Still, can't wait to hear how all those kinks smooth out over time and if they find a perfect rhythm to work with.
  3. I'm trying to gauge my expectations of this coming weekend and consider dropping by to Kings Island AND Soak City either Saturday or Sunday. I understand there will be thunderstorms, but I'm hoping that it might not last the entire day and will drive enough people away from the park... maybe. Should I chance it? I'm mostly hoping to try some of the water park attractions.
  4. I've done both water coasters plenty of times with shorter waits in single rider line than would the normal line. It's a literal blessing in disguise!
  5. The game is now officially $15 dollars on Steam. Full price, not sale price. It... almost kinda hurts to see it finally hit this point.
  6. Both water coasters have dedicated single-rider lines. As for other raft rides... you're kinda on your own. (if you're desperate, ask a group if they're willing to share a raft with you).
  7. Wow, very interesting thing you pulled together! It's shocking to see how much the ride's been down compared to being open, and when it was open on the 17th it's an immediate 45 minute wait before dropping off the charts again! Other than that, out of its recorded 8 days the park's been open, it's been pretty much completely closed for 7 of them (they tried on the 22nd). Shouldn't they just announce it closed online just to cement it in and not get people's hopes up too much?
  8. New update's been released with the B&M style flying coaster, and some new scenery pieces like fountains.
  9. Very front of train: Thunder Run, Storm Chaser (back is nice too) Very back of train: Lightning Run, T3
  10. I didn't think MT's first drop is anything too special. The second drop towards the river is way better than that though!
  11. What do you call a chair travelling through space? A voy-a-chair (i take no credit for that joke)
  12. Kinda goes to show they're just as frustrated with it as anyone else is. it is quite unfortunate for both them and anyone going out of their way specifically to get to ride the coaster. Hopefully for anyone's first time at the park they don't get too caught up on LR being opened or closed, because there is still an entire theme park to enjoy! Continuing the Thunderhead love train, I might be in a minority but having tried both, I kinda like Thunderhead's layout more than Mystic Timbers. That coaster is just pure fun, and has some very comfy seats on it! Last I was at the park, I managed more laps on it than any other coaster in the park. It wasn't horribly rough, in my opinion.
  13. I actually witnessed an anomaly today at the park. When it started to rain, they announced that the rides would be closing, so I exited T3's queue and got food. As I sat and ate and watched as the rain get heavier, I saw T3 running... in the heavy rain... with passengers on board... four times! I would definitely not take that as a new thing that they are doing (and would never, ever ride T3 in heavy rain) since they were still planning to shut down the rides once the rain was heavy enough, but people were still braving the rain and getting on that ride. I'll still take a spin on the coaster any other time, but there's no way you'd ever get me on it during the rain! I did get to ride Storm Chaser when it sprinkled though, which was awesome! I said this elsewhere, but it felt as though the ride is moving a tiny bit faster this year. Anyone who's yet to re-ride it after trying it early last year needs to re-ride it. It's a far more intense experience now compared to its sluggish beginnings.
  14. ^We get those conditions later in summer. For now, it's just hot and occasionally rainy. ^^Greetings from a city 2 hours south of the park! Speaking of it getting hotter and more humid later this summer, good luck to those that get stacked in the station of hot days. Can't wait to experience that portion of it myself soon-ish! (let alone get to ride it again.)
  15. Nearly spit my coffee over this comment. Funniest thing I've read on TPR in a while. Poor thing, I never even considered that being a factor for the shed. Rode it on cool/cold days.
  16. Had to skip Coasterstock again for this year, sadly. Reeeeally wanted to go, but money and time said no. Oh well, might return next year maybe. Hope you guys that are going will have a blast!
  17. Pretty much what defrocker said, I think you should be fine, especially if you get there anytime close to opening.
  18. Here here. Monstrous airtime hills into dark valleys on Diamondback. Unpredictable laterals and airtime bumps on Mystic Timbers through a dark forest. The strobe from the onride photo to blind you before the slow roll and dive into the dark valley on Banshee. And the epic mile-plus of wood through dark forest on Beast.
  19. I used to be able to run my top 10 in order, but the top few get switched out so many times that I just have to say those top 5-ish are interchangeable as #1. That said... 1. Montu 2. Banshee 3. Lightning Rod 4. Kumba 5. Diamondback 6. Thunderbird 7. Storm Chaser 8. X2 9. Voyage 10. Mystery Mine
  20. Considering the nature of those slides, I'd feel a lot more comfortable jumping on them if I could see what they do. I'm always a bit iffy about body slides that involve high speed sharp turns, so it's a relief that it is not completely covered so people don't have to guess and find out what it does only upon riding it. That said, I'm also not a big fan of seeing the volcano open either. It just cements the idea that the volcano is just a "facade" and kinda brings the illusion away once you're at the backside of the park or looking at it from outside. Maybe it's open to entice people that are outside the park to see what's in, but even then, it's a giant volcano. That should probably do enough attention grabbing on its own. Disney's proven that you could close off or connect the mountain to a slide and still maintain it pretty well (case in point, the enclosed slide at Disney's Polynesian resort). Still, very interested in seeing how the water park looks once its open. I'm betting it'll all flesh together and look alright once people are in the park. And judging off of my experience doing numerous drops on Deep Water Dive at KK, you guys are in for a REAL treat with the drop on Ko’okiri Body Plunge! Just be weary of that climb up... it's a guaranteed adventure on its own.
  21. New devlog. Next update gets Flying coasters! There will also be zoning updates, and updates to the finances window.
  22. ^^^^Wasn't that the racecar/Nascar style Whip ride that was at the park, and they're just moving it to that spot in the park? If so, I'm pretty sure it is a kiddie ride. Completely unrelated to that, and just for the heck of it, I got some photos of Eye of the Storm I made two weekends ago to share: Still my first and only Larson Super Loop I've ever ridden, but it's still managed to put a smile on my face whenever I ride it. It's such a simple concept, and yet very enjoyable to ride!
  23. I usually gravitate to the third row (second car, front row) or fifth row (third car, front row) on most of their woodies, especially if I'm not in the mood to wait for the very front. I've marathoned the coasters in these rows successfully on less busy days and during Holiwood Nights. Thunderbird typically assigns seats (especially on busier days), but if you very politely ask then you might get yourself on front row. Next best is very back.
  24. I stayed at Comfort Inn during Coasterstock 2015. Can confirm a fairly comfortable visit with no complaints. They had to give me a handicap room due to room availability issues, so I had a king size bed all to myself! (so. much. bedspace. 0.0)
  25. No, it most certainly is not. "Awarded" would be better suited. Nobody "won" in this situation.
