  1. I'm kind of doubting this since (non-expert observations ahead:) it's super quick to unload riders from the coaster, but time consuming when loading and checking restraints. That train in the unload station would probably still be waiting there for a while for the loading riders. If dispatch times were significantly faster, I'm sure it would constitute having a separate dock. Heck, Mystery Mine has two load/unload docks, but the park only uses the front one. As for the previous conversation, running faster/slower... I don't care, as long as it keeps running at all. Still a world class roller coaster, either way!
  2. Intamin strata coaster!!! Source Source ----- Edit: https://www.planetcoaster.com/en/news/planet-coaster-14-anniversary-update
  3. My interest in playing Planet Coaster has gone up and down a lot, and I have been veeerrrryyyyy slowly chipping away at this park. Little details here, big changes there, and at some point totally forgot to give updates to this park... which has now received quite the expansion since the last update here. I will attempt to shine light on what I can without getting too abundant on photos. 6 lands: (counterclockwise from bottom-right) Welcoming Center, Slums, Mining Pit, Gated City, Castle, and Farmlands. Slums/mining: The slums had received a bit more detailing after the majority of the layout was already setup. I'm comfortable enough to say that the slums is complete, but could definitely benefit from some more tiny details being thrown in. Knock knock? Get the door, it's religion. The mining pit also received some love. It still needs buildings to be built and more scenery thrown about, but the layout of the area and the attractions are all pretty set in stone. I'm not a fan of large, sprawling coasters, but this area asked for one considering it's the most dangerous of all the lands. The Forge, and Iron Fury roller coaster in the background. Iron Fury diving into its tunnel. Gated City: This area took a lot of thought on how I wanted it to look, but I think I can still get it to be consistent enough with the other lands. I'm aiming for a city/downtown-ish feel with a small park, carnival, and historic building mixed in. This area is still under heavy editing, so things will likely get changed and replaced at some point in the future, though. Gated City recent overview. WIP though, things are gonna be changed around pretty heavily. Snowflake flipping from the back corner. Yeti roller coaster. Castle: It wouldn't be Castle Tundra without a castle, right? That aspect is still in the works, but I slowly jump into this area to plant things and see how it fits into its own land and how it interacts with other lands. I'll come back to it eventually, likely once I get Gated City a lot more fleshed out. Gotta get sidewalk going up the slope to the top, and get base design of teh castle, courtyard, miscellaneous buildings, etc. Bare interior for now, but there's sidewalk in it and guests will be able to walk around inside. Realistically, that drop tower would never run. Too cold and too windy up there. Farmlands: The very last land I'll start building up are the rural farmlands that will grow crops for the surrounding lands. Easy walk to and from the welcoming center for guests. Windmill will receive a barn for its queue scenery, and a farmhouse will be close to it as well for eatery. I'm hoping to leave some space for the new game update that will allow tables to eat at as well so I can have patio spaces. Miscellaneous fun facts: -There was 7471 guests in the park when I shot my most recent screengrabs. -Tundra Express railway stretches 3572m long and currently runs 10 trains (probably only needs 8, but I'm experimenting for now). Each train runs 4 cars and holds 96 people.
  4. I'm wondering if they are going to take out that whole ride complex and put the cabanas there. I could see that, Cabana's around the lazy River. It was written that they'd be near the wave pool: http://www.wdrb.com/story/36750528/kentucky-kingdom-adds-4-new-attractions-for-2018-season
  5. A date was announced, the anniversary 1.4 update is coming out Wednesday November 22. [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew]
  6. The new alpha update is out for download: For those of you that can't wait for the water coaster to come out on Planet Coaster, I have some very good news for you: It's pretty neat. Tried it out myself with something simple. It doesn't go flush with a body of water because it'll auto-make a tunnel if you do, but instead uses its own splashdown section. Also discovered you can toggle the GUI on/off by hitting 'x'. Helpful for screenshots. New scenery ratings. "Guests don’t like seeing park utility infrastructure such as staff rooms, resource depots and employee paths. They have a negative effect on the scenery rating." Now it makes more sense to block off the view of the staff room, because it will have an effect on your guests. Speaking of... New immersion ratings to go along with the scenery ratings. Now people will be affected by how much scenery is around them: New 45 degree turns on all tracks. New Monorail ride! There's a bunch more things I didn't cover since they're kinda spread out, but they're all in the game's Devlog here. And a bunch of other things not covered in this post.
  7. If credit is required: last car, front row, brace hard. (The airtime on the first drop is quite frightening there!) Is that generally the "magic seat" for any custom Arrow looper, or does this only apply to Vortex? I cannot guarantee it works for other Arrows (It's a "magic seat" for a lot of old school Vekomas, tho). I'd typically only do one ride on Vortex using that seat and survive just fine with some bracing on transitions for the second half of the coaster. But who knows, maybe I've been missing out on something better this whole time:

  9. Personally, I don't think making it any smoother will make it a better ride. The layout is kind of boring, and even from the back seat there isn't much airtime. It's a decent introductory coaster, though. RMC can fix that The irony is faaar too strong in this one, lol
  10. Nah, we won't talk about the Scenario Editor that's also coming in the free anniversary update. Also won't mention that they spoke details of it at the 27:25 mark in the video: We're probably also not going to talk about being able to switch trains on shared track-types like switching out Inverted Coaster trains with Flying Coaster trains by using a drop-down menu, shown at the 24:54 mark.
  11. , which focused on their three big current works: Planet Coaster, Elite: Dangerous, and Jurassic World Evolution. During it, they announced some upcoming updates for the Planet Coaster Anniversary! Staff Management. All staff, including vendors, will get a place to rest-up and switch out for shifts. Cascade (water coaster) Hop The Gaps (side friction coaster) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dWb-VRA8Qk Weisshorn (Caterpillar/Music Express flat ride) I also particularly like this outro since it shows how far the developers had come with the game since the game first came out! EDIT: Almost forgot, new scenario editor Also spotted in the Staff Management video, tables for people to eat at:
  12. Despite the quantity of coasters there, it seems only two or three of them were built with airtime in mind. Getting another ride that produces plenty of that would be wonderful at this park.
  13. That trip report was wild. Thanks for sharing THE story of your trip.
  14. Not that corner of the park. Enterprise's spot is sure to get a flatride.
  15. Ed said 220 feet is the max height in the park, so that could basically hint at any type of coaster that could reach that point. Doesn't strictly have to be a hyper like Diamondback. Heck, a 200ft Mack with numerous inversions could still be pretty marketable in the region. And while a little bittersweet with Enterprise going, I do think it was about time for it to go. I could certainly feel its age when I rode it.
  16. First time I've ever heard a rumor of Raging Rapids removal. Great TR, though, and glad to hear you enjoyed Storm Chaser so much. Also never new one of those Wigwam places even existed in Kentucky! That's quite the interesting find!
  17. I always tell people who have the same story as you that the park is overall significantly better now than it was in the last few years of the Six Flags era. Not just in the attractions, but the overall vibe of the park has gotten much better too. I loved GL too, but its replacement is so much better. T3 has been running 1 train ops these past couple months, but everything else that has been doing just fine it seems. This upcoming weekend is the last two days the park will be open for this season too, just fyi.
  18. I've seen it happen once while I was at the first year of Coasterstock. It was a super busy Saturday at the time.
  19. It was pretty clear seeing that lineup who the REAL target demographic is for this event, so it makes sense. Sounds like a lovely family-friendly event to be had, though. Those seeking intense thrills have the haunt events anyways.
  20. New $11 DLC, the Spooky Pack. http://steamcommunity.com/games/493340/announcements/detail/1461839319158555370 Personally, just from seeing the video alone, I freaking LOVE what they've done and will be sure to get this (especially for the lightning strikes). But for those of you craving that dark-ride fix you've always wanted, this is also the pack for you. A full custom tracked motion simulator ride, and a pretzel dark ride. Oh, and a new coaster type!
  21. 1. Twitter since it's a lot simpler for me to use and doesn't feel as burdensome or as flooded with ads/tailored content as Facebook (I still loathe Facebook). 2. Instagram's a more distant second, though I've surprisingly made some pretty good new friends through it. A nice medium for those that work with photos or enjoy photo work.
  22. Would a Sunday in late September or a Sunday sometime in October be more busy? Debating when to use up the second day on my two-day ticket. (Also considering getting a Gold pass for a possible extra visit this year and all next season.)
  23. That area could maybe do with a nice family or kids ride to balance things out and make Storm Chaser more of a staying destination in the park for more people. It's quite easy to hang out around T3, Lightning Run, or Thunder Run's Belgian Village because of the plentiful seating, eating, and wide range of activities and rides. Storm Chaser's area, as nice looking as it is now, seems to lack that 'staying' power for some folks because it seems like you're really only there for the coaster. Having said that, I do see the unfair advantage the other coasters have being in areas where people often need to pass to make it to other areas of the park.
