  1. 1. Name 3 of your favorite roller coasters, but not your top 3. Kumba, Thunderbird, and Storm Chaser 2. About how many different parks did you visit in 2018? Four 3. Which 2018 park visit was your favorite? Overall experience? Probably Kings Island for the Coasterstock event. 4. Your favorite 2018 park addition (ride, food, show, etc)? Steel Vengeance 5. What ride exceeded your expectations the most in 2018? Millennium Force. Love me a good and wild RMC, but can't underestimate a smooth, giant, and long roller coaster chock full of constant speed. 6. Best meal/food at a park in 2018? Still has to go to Holiday World's Thanksgiving section Plymouth Rock Café... I love fried chicken too much. 7. What was your favorite new coaster of 2018 NOT made by RMC or Larson? MY favorite new non-RMC/Larson coaster of 2018 that I'VE RIDDEN was Twist-N-Shout at Malibu Jack's. 8. Name one park you will definitely visit in 2019. Kentucky Kingdom... duh. 9. Best ride themed to a bird? ... Thunderbird. Next question. 10. Lamest ride/coaster you rode in 2018? In terms of high expectations, low outcome? I'll give that to Valravn. Not that I didn't like it, it's a lil more of a pretty lawn ornament than anything. 11. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2019 ride) Dodonpa. Always been a spooky coaster to me. 12. What new-for-2019 ride or coaster are you most looking forward to? Kentucky Flyer, mainly because I know I'll get to ride it. 13. Name the first totally middle-of-the-road (not bad/not great) park that comes to mind. Beech Bend park. 14. You're in Orlando and magically have a 1-hour ERT session on 1 coaster of your choice at any park in the city. You choose... Mako. Never ridden it yet, but I know I'll love it when I do. What better way to welcome a new credit anyhow. 15. Holiday In The Park vs. Winterfest. Who reigns supreme? Only been to WinterFest, so... 16. Mystic Timbers mystery shed or Wicker Man fire infusion? Mystery Shed, personally. 17. Which Six Flags have you been to most recently? Haven't been to one since 2010, I think. And that was Six Flags Over Georgia. 18. Intamin or Schwarzkopf? You may only choose one. Schwarzkopf. 19. Battle of Kings Coasters: Island or Dominion? Pick one. Dominion. 20. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2018? 2 hours for Steel Vengeance. 21. What roller coaster have you ridden more than any other? CoasterCounter.com tells me Storm Chaser finally surpassed Thunderbird for most ridden coaster, 79 to 77. 22. Best drop tower under 150 feet? FearFall at... yes, Kentucky Kingdom. 23. Maverick or Millennium Force? (If you haven't been to CP, pick what you want to ride more) Millenium Force. I place re-rideability at the top of what makes me love a coaster. 24. Log flumes or sky rides? You can only choose one. Log Flumes 25. What are 3 things you enjoying doing at your home park other than riding rides? Making photographs/videos, hanging out with local/non-local friends, And probably watching the shows. 26. What is your second favorite Cedar Fair park and why? Cedar Point. Not a park that really allows time for slowing down to eat and relax due to its size and amount of things to do, unless you're spending multiple days there. Some folks don't see a point in slowing down at a park and prefer doing things back to back to back, but I certainly do. 27. What is your home park and give us two good reasons why we should pay it a visit. Kentucky Kingdom. 1. Storm Chaser 2. Lightning Run 28. Launch or Lift? Launch! 29. Did you buy fast pass at all in 2018? Cedar Point Fastlane+, for the two consecutive days I was there. 30. What is your least favorite wooden coaster? Currently still GASM, but I haven't been on it since 2010. For recent woodies, I'd say Racer at KI, only for being a relatively "okay" coaster. 31. Disney fanboys: cool or cult? Really, really, REALLY depends on who you're talking to. There are some super-cool Disney fanboys out there. Then there are some that make you seriously question the community... 32. Best Batman themed ride? The B&M invert clones. 33. Name something that tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you. T-shirts, I think. 34. Best wooden coaster over 110 feet tall? (rcdb will help you) Lightning Rod. 35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something? A bug. 36. Skywarps: credits or no? State your case. Ugh I hate this argument No since there's something always being pushed by drive tires. Call it a powered coaster, tho. 37. Turkey legs: nah or yaaaaassssss? Sure! 38. What is the most recent B&M that you rode? Diamondback. 39. You can eat nothing but corn dogs, churros or funnel cake for the next 48 hours, which do you choose? Corn dogs. 40. Post a great on-ride shot of you from 2018. (DO IT!) Please scroll back up.
  2. I guess it depends where you're looking at. The steelies and unique ones (i.e. RMC hybrids) hog most of the limelight, and new "box car" woodies are practically phasing out. Some recent ones that came to my mind are compact (Mine Blower, White Lightning, Kentucky Flyer), and others were even weird "almost-but-not-technically-hybrid" things (Outlaw Run, Lightning Rod, Goliath). Upon checking RCDB mid-typing this, I left out GCI's (Mystic Timbers, Gold Striker).
  3. I am glad there's photos being shared by folks involved in the removal, so it'll at least east everyone's minds on what happens to the coaster. Besides, on the photo ban on Vengeance, it probably wouldn't make much sense for this coaster since they're not re-profiling existing structure into a new ride. They're just getting rid of it.
  4. I certainly welcome the renovation too. Looks like there's gonna be plenty more space than before, and I'm certainly looking forward to it with the new food and drink offerings (and the coffee, can't forget about that). The media nerd in me also appreciates the presentation of the 360 video. Can't wait to be back in the park.
  5. T'was a slight delay due to some issues needing ironing out on the chairlift (oh yeah, did I mention there's a chairlift system now???), but it's finally out today!!!
  6. Looks great! Makes me wonder if this'll be a bigger hit than Thunder Run. The park seems to love putting in new rides with plenty of airtime.
  7. And I'm gonna be perfectly honest, repeat rides on roller coasters in 30 degree weather isn't as amazing the 4th or 5th time around as you might think. Eventually all you'll wanna do is warm up. I didn't even bother doing Mystic Timbers last visit, even tho I'm sure it was a walk-on by the end of the night. Besides, Winterfest is more for slowing down and enjoying the lights and skating and entertainment all around the park. Every corner seems to have different entertainers singing, taking photos with you, parading you around in a horse-drawn stagecoach or riding around in a vintage automobile waving at folks.
  8. As I write this, they're playing with the Schwarzkopf coaster type live on YouTube. And right after they built the two height variants of the Huss Snot’N Drop ride that popped up on their list today as well.
  9. Thanks all, really appreciate it! Each frame is an individual photo, and their resolutions are bigger than the video frame, so I could zoom and pan around the large image.
  10. Swung by the park last Sunday and put myself up to a little project of doing a timelapse video out of it. Hope y'all enjoy, it kinda took the whole night to do. Close to the end of the night when it dropped to lower 30's and my hands got a little numb, it was lovely getting two walk-on rides on Flight of Fear and warming up at the same time. Really glad they added it. Last hour in the park seemed to be the best time to get your marathons in on the coasters.
  11. ^9 new rides, also including... Now, there's something a little on the negative side I'd like to point out. I was talking with a friend about him getting into Planet Coaster, and he said it'd be a tough purchase simply because it's too expensive. My immediate thoughts were that "most AAA-ish games are around $60. $45 full price for Planet Coaster actually isn't terrible. Heck, I'd even say it's more than worth the price." But he didn't mean the base game. He meant the game + all of the DLC's. As of 8:12pm EST, December 6th. It's a little easy to gloss over/forget the fact that Planet Coaster's become a $108.91 video game ($80.91 if you get deluxe then add the construction kits). I'll still love and praise this video game, but I do finally see his argument. Mind you, I did see this game's DLC's recently heavily discounted, so if you do catch it at the right time, you can get the add-ons for much less than this.

  13. I guess it's more or less something nice to look at when you're walking towards Flight of Fear.
  14. Do they even know what they're doing?! There's wayy too many speed bumps along the way. Edit to throw in the POV video released by them yesterday.
  15. Today's the day, and indeed the price did go up. http://themeparkitect.tumblr.com/post/180623214832/release A lot more has been polished in light of the release, and especially since hitting three more betas since the previous time I updated this thread. All updates can be found on their Tumblr Devlog. Thinking back to their kickstarter a few years ago, I think it's awesome these guys successfully made it to a fully-released playable and fun pc game! Congratulations to the team!
  16. And visually speaking, Mystic Timbers is pretty tucked away deep into the park, oh-so barely visible from the parking lot. Whereas T3 is easily accessible visually from the highway, surrounding roads, and even from the front of the park. Not a whole lot of forestation to completely surround it either. You are right on one aspect, it's pretty staggering how T3 almost feels visually taller than Mystic Timbers, but stats say the exact opposite. Almost makes me miss when Chang dominated the skyline from anywhere, lol.
  17. Last year I don't recall seeing any special theming or lights. Only major change I saw was converting their Fast Lane to single-riders line.
  18. I only squeezed one ride in right when I saw it reopen for the second time in the day. Glad to pay a final respect, but I wasn't going to wait in either standard OR Fast Lane line for longer than 10 minutes. Paying respects to a now-fallen soldier. Otherwise, it was a great day at the park, apart from the cool weather and some rain. Diamondback was walk-on for a few parts of the day, and I couldn't waste that opportunity!!
  19. That's pretty sweet! And what a relief the project is back underway once again! Definitely one of the brighter sides in the world of coaster enthusiasts when a bunch can push hard enough to get a coaster's opening back on track.
  20. As am I! Completely out of left field, but not complaining at all. Can't go wrong with a great family coaster!
  21. https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/34179-Free-Update-1-8-coming-soon!?p=240638#post240638 Wait a sec... what's this about a Thememaker's Toolkit? https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/34140-Coming-Soon-to-Planet-Coaster-Thememaker-s-Toolkit
  22. I've ridden plenty times in the past years and never, ever found the ride rough, at all. It feels buttery smooth, to me, especially for being a Vekoma. I actually enjoy the ride experience (moreso in the last cars), but I never found it worth the atrociously long waits and slow dispatch times it usually has. The fact the queue is hidden from the main pathway doesn't help, either. I won't miss it because I'm very, very confident whatever Kings Island plans to replace it with will be much more worth it.
