Lost Island Waterpark planning Theme Park
KBrylczyk replied to diggerg56's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well that's a coincidence, because I'm not ready to visit without it. -

I've been seeing the fenced-in wave pools become much more common in the past couple of years. I get it, there's been too many easily-preventable drowning deaths due to overcrowded pools and distracted life guards, I just wish there were a better way to control it. -
Energylandia Park Discussion Thread
KBrylczyk replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You know, I've heard tales of Energylandia ever since it opened. It wasn't until I watched this entire video that I understood those tales. What's with the theme choices? What's with the pathways? Why are there only 4.5 good coasters out of 17?! I'm just...what IS this place?! It's like a Rollercoaster Tycoon fever dream but without the unlimited budget cheat so you just populate the map with as much off-the-shelf crap you can buy before the money runs out. Mars coaster, though, Disney better watch their back. That themeing was phenomenal. -

I know I don't speak for everyone, but 3D has always been a crappy gimmick that just might maybe occasionally accidentally be used in a semi-decent way. Once every thousand years or so we get Spider-Man. It was a 3D ride perfected. Top of the mountain. Nobody else has yet to match it, not even Universal because let's be honest, Transformers is a fun ride but it's a HUGE step down from Spidey. We have demonstrative proof that glass-free 3D works incredibly well and that's because they use it to add depth to a scene, not to point a stick at the audience or throw something at your face. -
Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread

^ Interesting that they're going the buffet route. The California version is quick-service but if you're not using the Disneyland app to order then you're really screwed as you'll probably wait longer to get your food than the line for Radiator Springs Racers. That being said, the food we got there was pretty darn tasty and the size gimmick is used well. I got the PB&J & Banana sammich on Pym Particle bread that also came with a tiny banana smoothie. The ChocoSMASH is more than enough dessert for two people and it comes in a wrapper designed to look like the bar exploded out of it. -
Adventureland Long Island!

What's the grand opening celebration gonna be? Rocking chairs on a porch? Honestly that'd be more thrilling. -
Electric Eel. Journey To Atlantis (San Diego). Steel Eel. Great White. Texas Stingray. Ice Breaker. All of these are coasters plopped onto dirt, grass, or gravel. I think you're nostalgic for late-90s/early-00s Orlando SeaWorld. That's when the original JTA and Kraken showed up and they're easily the most heavily-themed SeaWorld coasters chain-wide.

Please let it be a dark ride through a graveyard. -
HHN Hollywood is not worth the money they charge. They like to think they're Orlando but they're not. If you're lucky you'll get one soundstage haunt, the rest are in existing queues or tents. The budget is simply not there, either. Endless empty black hallways with occasional lightweight sets and the only scares are sudden loud noises, possibly accompanied with an actor or dummy and flashing lights. Scary Farm is the clear winner between these two options. You'll have much more fun at Knott's and they have almost every ride open for the event. HHN has maybe four rides operational if you're lucky.
