  1. Add another to the Field Of Screams praise. I consider it the second best haunt I've ever been to, and I've been around the block all over this country. Everything there is homegrown and all the haunts are as in-your-face as you can get. I'm talking multiple actors at once, from all angles and heights, including dangling from the ceiling, cornering me while I was standing in the middle of a room, screaming like a little girl falling over a gurney. The only haunt that beat this is... The Hotel Of Horror. Holy. Forking. Shirt. They'll happily let you go through alone with plenty of space ahead and behind you so you don't catch up with another group. This haunt will make you its bitch. They might even ask you to join the show! I was a "patient" in the surgeon room for a few groups. After they scared the hell out of me, I complimented them on the team scare and misdirection and they asked if I wanted to help them but they needed a third. I got to be strapped to a chair screaming for help as groups entered. The uncontested greatest haunted attraction I have ever done. Full stop.
  2. Yep, that's a Tower Of Terror vehicle if I've ever seen one. I'm curious if they're just gonna make another ToT clone with a new skin or if this will be a new use of the system.
  3. This is my kind of update as I'm a huge Muppets fan. I'm sure there's going to be a ton of sight gags and jokey decor all around the queue and preshow and that will be the actual star of the show. The description makes the ride sound identical where it'll still be blacklight scenery with some Muppet updates. Personally I was hoping for a change in that regard, preferably something like Paris used to have before they butchered it into that Avengers ride. Either way, this sounds snazzy as hell and I'm excited to see all the details!
  4. It'll be nice to have a solid escape from the heat again, that's for sure.
  5. Honestly? This is probably the only Halloween attraction that would actually give me nightmares, so respect for that.
  6. If the cherry picker was under 100 feet, yes. That's the clutter zone where radar can't differentiate between terrain and objects.
  7. ^ I highly, HIGHLY recommend a trip to CDMX to get this deal, check out this excellent park, and fall in love with the city. It quickly, and I mean QUICKLY, jumped to the top of my "favorite places to visit" list and I intend on returning soon.
  8. Knowing that the haunts aren't worth my time, how are the lines on the other rides in the park during haunt?
  9. Hell, I'll give them $5 and figure out the details later. There's an FEC in town that would do well with that hog.
  10. I got to ride Wrath a few days ago and it's easily my favorite dive coaster. Starts like a standard dive with large elements, then quickly turns into a twisted mess of flips and sudden changes of direction. Everything from the third inversion until the brakes is bonkers and it had me laughing like a hyena. Also, the beyond-vertical drop is ass-out-of-the-seat the entire time. I rode in the back on the left edge, hardly any rattle but the pansies are making noise about the ride being rough. They're idiots and can't take a stiff breeze without bruising. This ride is nuckin futs, best ride at Great America. Fight me.
  11. You guys are thinking of the wrong records. Remember Viper? They're bringing it back for the record of "Most consecutive left turns on a coaster."
  12. Had to postpone my trip next week for unrelated reasons, glad I'll be able to get on this and Siren's Curse later this summer!
  13. This blows. I'm visiting next week and I'm missing Siren's Curse by that much and now TT2 looks like it'll be down, as well. Ah, well, at least maybe crowds will be lighter and I can ride Gemini all day.
  14. Here's hoping this will be open when I visit in two weeks.
  15. Finally, people can shut up about the river going away.
  16. Yes, it's a crap situation. Not knowing what their contracts said, though, this is perfectly legal for Disney to do. That being said, Unions are a great way to ensure stable employment, especially in the entertainment industry. Ask me how I know (20+ years of doing this stuff as a technician and an IATSE member). THAT being said, Unions aren't perfect and Actors Equity most certainly plays favorites on what contracts they give a crap about. AFAIK, Disney works with AEA and non-union for performers and their contracts demand only a certain percentage of performers be AEA members. Really what this boils down to is, if you ain't in the club, you ain't gettin' respect. I feel for the performers, but after decades of navigating this business I can only sit back and think about how this is a wonderful learning opportunity for those involved.
  17. Rollbacks happened early on Sunday, too. What I'm learning is that if you want a rollback, get on one of the first trains out before it's warmed up.
  18. Food - Antojito's on CityWalk is friggin delicious. I got the Mole plate. My wife and I were sat right next to the stage and enjoyed the live guitarist after a long day of jumping between parks. Express / Singles - We didn't have Express and were able to hit every ride (besides kiddie rides) in both parks, many multiple, and this was a day that IoA closed at 7pm. This also includes two rides on Hagrid. Hogwarts Express - Don't waste your time. It's faster to just walk. This isn't a ride, it's a tiny cabin playing a short film that has a stupid long line. The film is different in either direction, though.
  19. Six Flags Mexico might be on the chopping block. They already stole Siren's Curse away from it. Solid park, though, and it has one hell of a local population to support it. I'd just be sad to lose that sweet, sweet discount in the exchange rate for my all-park passport. Cost me $118 USD to purchase it during my trip in March. All that to say, plan a trip to CDMX in the near future, regardless of this park's future. Not only is Superman worth the price of the trip alone, but you also get a nice RMC and countless incredible things to see, do, and eat in CDMX. I recommend attending during the Pyrotechnic Festival and surviving the Pyro Bulls. It's truly the most insane thing I've ever done.
  20. That ride has had more homes than Olympia Looping. TAER IT DOWN!!!!
  21. That's an awful lot of effort for Great America. Remember, it's still very much a Six Flags park, operations and all the other "perks" you'd expect. Add it to a road trip, sure, but don't waste the time and money for a single day. Save that for somewhere worth it. Goliath and Maxx Force aren't worth it.
