  1. The only proper way to un-stuck-ify a coaster.
  2. Yo mama so dumb she thought Iron Rattler was kept in her bedside drawer.
  3. I'm all for WoF getting a new coaster, I just hope they go a little more original this time. Mamba is 90% a clone of Steel Force and Patriot is 90% a clone of Talon. Great rides, no question about that, but unless it's a wooden coaster they tend to do the "Hey, let me copy your homework. I'll change it up a little so the teacher doesn't know" method.
  4. Just spitballin' here, but so many reasons, man. So many. One major thing might be the pandemic taking an extraordinary bite out of expected income. They might be spreading the project out so they don't have to worry about schedule conflicts, there's more than likely massive shipping delays for literally everything, labor issues with third-party companies, yadda yadda yadda. Xcelerator was built in a time where amusement parks were exploding in popularity and in constant competition with each other for a "World's First" title, of course they're gonna get it built as quickly as possible before anyone else can steal their thunder. Giving a 44-year-old shuttle coaster a refurb isn't nearly on that level of giving a shit. Basically, they're gonna do what they feel is the most financially-beneficial route for the park to succeed. If that means I can't go "whee" on a ride I've been on a thousand times already, well, I feel like that's not the end of the world.
  5. Honestly the complete dippy derps that pay $200+ for a plastic popcorn bucket deserve to get fleeced.
  6. Kumba and Montu are RIGHT there. Hulk is a fun ride but after the midcourse it completely loses momentum.
  7. Worth it, but only if they install an elevator.
  8. Alright, I feel like I'm in the minority, but I really didn't like Verbolten. Sure, there's some strong G's for about three seconds in the building, but that's all the ride has going for it. It has far too many stop and go moments. Launch, turns, stop. Freefall drop, launch, turns, stop. Slow, boring drop towards the river, turns, stop. Just let the ride give me a ride! The bridge drop should have been taken with no brakes but instead they slow you to a crawl or a full stop sometimes, so much so that even in the back of the train you barely get any forces going down. This is all without mentioning the wicked shimmy the ride has developed, too. I'm sure Hagrid's is fun but man Verbolten is just a slap in the face as a replacement to Big Bad Wolf.
  9. Let's not pretend that seeing Monty operational on any given day wasn't already a huge gamble. Out of the past few years I think I've been lucky enough to actually get on the ride twice. Hold up a minute. I'm all for a TPR Timeshare in SoCal and I'm pretty darn sure a bunch of you other maniacs are, as well.
  10. ^ They should take a hint from Cowabunga Bay in Vegas and build a massive half-pipe, theme it to snowboarders. Wild Surf might be a one-trick pony but that doesn't matter when the trick is pants-shittingly insane. Ever get so much airtime on a water slide that you get launched out of the tube and get to re-enact your very own scene from The A-Team? Becuase I have. Multiple times. It's nuckin futs.
  11. Palace better put some serious money in the park, otherwise Lost Island is going to steal all of the thunder. I know Waterloo is ~2 hours away but still.
  12. I've only been on ROTR at Disneyland once and that was with the boarding pass system still in place. IIRC, though, that ride pumps people through unlike any other ride I've seen, Disney or otherwise. It's a people eater of the tallest order. When I used my boarding pass I walked through the queue to the third-to-last room before the Rey preshow and only waited ten minutes. Barring a long breakdown I can't see a full queue being exceptionally long, time-wise, but like I said I've only ridden with the boarding pass system in place. We had to do child-swap and they sent my wife up the Lightning Lane entrance. That let her walk from the gate directly into the preshow with zero wait, the lucky duck. I don't recall seeing a single rider line, but then again I wasn't looking for one since it wouldn't have been open anyway. Millennium Falcon has one, though, and we both walked right on the ride and got on the same group that was loading when we got to the top of the stairs. Neither of us stopped walking until we were watching the video from Hondo outside of the cockpit.
  13. Oh damn, that's a shame. The industry just lost one if its greats. His testing grounds had some of the most diabolical, insane rides ever created, and we loved him for it. RIP, Stan! Now go tell God you want to install a Sonic Boom in Heaven.
  14. ^^ That must be the Washing Machine upgrade. Water comes in but it won't flow out.
  15. NGL I'd happily volunteer to be in the back row for that. Reminds me of my ride on Divertical -
  16. I used to work for Carnival. Book with Royal Caribbean.
  17. I know I'm late to the party, but imagine spending extra money to ride Smuggler's Run. It hurts me to even think about that. Spend the coin on something worthwhile like Small World.
  18. Thank god you're running after thunderstorms and not running a massive tourist destination. You're now equating schools with entertainment options. C'mon, man. And finally now you're insulting everyone on this board with your stupid little sign-off quotes. Get bent. You might have some idea of what weather can do since you claim to be a storm chaser, but there are also legitimate meteorologists on this board who would also tell you to take a hike. Climb down off of your high horse and let people make their own decisions. You're not their dad. Edit - Furthermore, as an actual father myself, if my son told me they wanted to go ride coasters with the chance of a storm rolling through I'd tell them to keep an eye on things but to have a blast. Do you have the slightest clue how small of a chance there is of a tornado sucking you into the sky? I would hope you do, seeing as you're a storm chaser, right? Holy crap.
  19. Since I'll be in Jersey visiting family over Christmas I took a look at the park's website to maybe jump on a few coasters. I had to laugh when I saw Sandy's Blasting Bronco is currently listed a down for "annual maintenance" even though the ride hasn't been open a year.
