  1. Lucky for you ride ops at Cedar Point don't have to do spiels over and over again.
  2. What are you going to study that takes 13 years to study? Or are you pre-planning switching majors a couple times?
  3. ^ And Sandusky is severely lacking in black market bread.
  4. I was once taking shelter under the tiny overhang of an ATM machine located right beside TTDs hill during a massive downpour. As I was losing the battle of staying dry I heard the brakes being lowered on TTD. I thought to myself, "surely they can't be thinking of launching it in this storm". Sure enough a few seconds later an empty train came roaring along. It didn't come close to clearing the tower.
  5. Hopefully it made the move alright. Batman Knight Flight was always my favorite floorless. And good riddance to Hypersonic. POS.
  6. ^^ A bit of both. That's the typical art style on those types of maps, making the big rides look massive. I like how tiny Sledge Hammer is compared to Psyclone. ^ High capacity or not, Behemoths line is not going to be 45 minutes at any point. Unlike Italian Job, everyone is going to see the ride before they even get to the park. So where do you think everyone is going to go first?
  7. ^ Hit or miss. You could have rain, or you could have scorching heat all day long. A typical rainy day will just have the odd shower pass through. Although weather conditions can be unpredictable. I wouldn't really worry about it though. Just plan the trip, you can't control the weather. You'll probably end up having sunny weather.
  8. And yet they only built like 45 minutes worth of queue line.
  9. I've yet to experience this new rain policy. I've always experienced the old, "rain or shine" operations at CP. But this past year I was at the park the week before the accident. And my 2nd visit to get Maverick was scorching hot. I'm hoping they improve their act this year. I really don't want to make the 5 hour drive down there and end up sitting in the hotel room playing cards or something for two days.
  10. I was practically waiting for it to roll back in that first clip. I'm sure it'll speed up as that train gets worked in. I was up at my sisters near Wonderland on Friday. Saw Behemoth testing, but didn't get a good luck at it. (had to concentrate on driving, and didn't feel like stoping to watch).
  11. Well the brakes it slipped through are emergency brakes only used when the trains stack. When those brakes are used the train hits them pretty damn hard. Results in quite a bit of whiplash for the people on the train. So it's not totally surprising that a train slipped through when wet.
  12. If possible I'd suggest picking a non-holiday weekend. Otherwise you will be risking major lineups at the border. I waited 2.5 hours to cross into the US on Labour Day two years ago. If you do go you'd be wise to plan your border cross for a non-peak time, like extremely early in the morning, or real late at night.
  13. I'd assume destroyed for scrap metal. Most steel roller coasters when removed are sent for scrap. Few rides are taken down carefully to be put back up.
  14. Drop Zone is not a gyro drop. It's one of the older smaller 2nd gen drops. (like the one at Kennywood). It is NOT like the bigger gyro drops like at KD or KI. And as Joe said, the flats are alright, but nothing special. Sledgegammer (Huss Jump2) looks alot better then it is. Psyclone (Mondial frisbee) is not nearly as good as the Huss giant frisbees. Cliffhanger (Mondial Splashover) is pretty fun, as long as you don't mind getting soaked. Shockwave (Mondial Top Scan) is pretty awesome. And the coasters as you said, other then Behemoth and Vortex they're pretty forgettable.
  15. Hopefully it's open on the 17th, as I'm planning to stop on my way to Cedar Point. If not I'll come back at some point to ride it.
  16. ^ Sucks for the people who live in the sub division which is 50 feet from Behemoth. Serves them right though for buying a house right next to an amusement park.
  17. Running hot means exactly like it sounds. Dust, clogged fans, etc could make the computer heat up, at which point hardware failure is more likely. Or if the fan on the CPU died, that alone could burn out the CPU. But this is kind of worse case scenario stuff, and sounds like not the most likely problem if you've been regularly cleaning out dust.
  18. ^^ Or failing that, could be CPU. Would it typically run hot? If the CPU burnt out it's pretty much a goner. Getting someone to have a look at it is a good idea. (just don't pay anyone, it's too old). We can't do much else then guess on what the problem is.
  19. As others have said it's a fun ride. But not worth the visit just for it. Some friends and I went to Ontario Place for Canada Day last year. Awesome fireworks, but really the cost of the place isn't all that worth it.
  20. Could probably be any number of hardware problems. Could be something as simple as a loose connection. My best guess would be bad/dead RAM. Without RAM the computer will do exactly as you said, nothing. Fans will turn on, it'll power up, but won't boot. Do you have a spare/extra stick of RAM you could try in it? It's just a matter of trial and error. Have to figure out what peice of hardware is preventing it from starting.
  21. Works fine for me as well. Maybe just a random glitch? Does it work fine now? I think I've heard a couple people mention the forums randomly glitching on them recently. So maybe it's just a temporary web issue.
  22. ^ Cedar Point doesn't even use it all that much I find. At least it seems they like using "America's Roller Coast" more.
  23. Yeah, I think I'm willing to give it another try. My experience was so bad that it couldn't possibly have been the norm. And true, being a couple years ago could have something to do with it. It was one of those days where the park was overrun with annoying punks, the staff didn't care, and we only had a few hours before a massive thunderstorm rolled through. And to top everything off, I was standing at the front turnstiles taking shelter from the downpour, waiting for my group to show up. I was standing in front of a turnstile that was also blocked off. An employee came up and told me that I couldn't stand that close to the turnstile, I had to step back 10 feet. (in other words, I couldn't take shelter under the over hang, but I was welcome to stand in the massive downpour). I thought she was joking at first, but no she was just being a witch. Nice final impression to give me of your park.
  24. ^ Or Six Flags Mexico's hypercoaster which also took years to finally open.
