  1. Hmm, not sure. There's not much else new going in this year though that I can think of? Not sure it will get enough attention though to win. Oh, I read how the guys from CWmania said the 3rd train was there. They're right, I finally spotted it at the end of a POV I took. That thing really is hard to see.
  2. ^ Yeah, that's about right. First drop in the back seat though pulls you out pretty good. But today's runs probably aren't a final judge on the ride. Most of the time there was only a couple people in the train. Oh, and to those that complained about not being able to talk to your buddies because of the staggered seating. Don't worry you can. You're about as far away as before, so there's nothing stopping you from talking to them without screaming. Overall the trains felt just like the standard B&M hyper trains. The back two seats really aren't raised up nearly as much as I would have thought. Although the extra arm room is pretty nice. Leg room doesn't really make a difference as the standard trains are spacious enough. I'd say the trains are pretty good, or at worst equal to the old trains. There's really nothing negative to them IMHO. They ride like the old trains, but with extra space in the outside seats.
  3. I rode it today, and the trims were only even on on the morning runs that were mostly full. Even then they were barely noticeable. Later on with empty trains they were off fully. However ... they could very well end up pulling harder with full trains in the summer heat. Even with today being warm, with only a couple people on the train it's going to be a bit sluggish, and the trims aren't even needed. Saying "it sucks" is way too harsh. The ride is a lot of fun. The first drop in particular was pretty good in the back. The general public is going to love this ride. (but that was a given, look at what else they have). Just don't go in expecting a new #1 ranked coaster and you should get off pleased. It's good, it's not just Ride of Steel good.
  4. It's funny watching those news reports, as I can pretty much remember watching all those clips being filmed. I'm just off to the side in a few of them. In fact I've got a picture of that CityTV guy hitting the brake run. Also a decent chance I'm in some of MuchMusic's footage. I was sitting right behind the chick VJ on a couple runs. (don't know her name though, don't watch MuchMusic)
  5. Hmm, who could that be? I rode it about 10 times today at the media day. It did valley yesterday. Two trains were running for media day. The third was nowhere to be seen. It's obviously not been put back on. The trims also were barely pulling, if at all. Then again other then the first few rides the trains were mostly empty. I'll post some more thoughts and pictures later. Right now my head is spinning after a 2.5 hour drive home. I hate traffic.
  6. You're the type that obsessives over every minor continuity error, no matter how trivial aren't you? So a Canadian tic tac was used. Big deal. Next are you going to complain about how many times Toronto has been used as New York in TV/movies?
  7. Well the last time I rode it, we rode it once during the day. It was running really slow, and didn't really hurt too bad. Then we rode it later in the evening and it re-aranged my spine.
  8. I'd guess that the Behemoth line will only be an hour if they limit the overflow queue. Everyone's going to go straight to Behemoth for at least the first part of the season. I will be pleasantly surprised if the line during preview night is only 1-1.5 hours.
  9. Saying a ride is tolerable as long as you ride in a specific seat, on a specific train, is a sign of the quality of the ride. When only one seat doesn't kick your ass, then the ride should be torched. I remember Viper being tollerable the last time I was there. Didn't bash me too hard. Predator though I'd be the first one in line to light the match.
  10. Too bad chat isn't logged, or we'd have more then enough to fill a thread. Didn't you say that you wanted to be a communist?
  11. That quite possibly has something to do with it. I'd guess the eBay affect has the most to do with it. Wait till the auction is about to close, and then put in your bid.
  12. That method leaves very little margin for error. If you decide you don't like a clip you're screwed because you don't have any extra footage to shoot from. Gives you no options but to put all your existing footage into the video. The end result will probably be a video that looks extremely rushed. So do you just stop filming once you've reached your 4 minutes? If you kept fiming you could would have the chance of getting some better clips, or more interesting clips. Don't be afraid of editing.
  13. ^ Was there a large amount of last minute bidders or something? Last I checked there was only a handful of bids.
  14. This year is when the name changes are taking affect. But the de-Paramount work has been going gradually since the purchase. They did inherit the licenses for at least awhile I believe. Hence why the name changes weren't right away.
  15. Cedar Fair didn't purchase the Paramount license. So all former Paramount parks are re-naming, and re-theming any rides with Paramount names.
  16. Looks interesting. I guess some of us will get to see it in person next week. Would have looked cool if they had lined the entire ride in LEDs.
  17. Do you have an iPod? Sounds like you got duped by the Apple updater "feature" that practically tricks you into installing Safari. And people claim only Microsoft try to force their applications on you.
  18. That's actually exactly how it felt a few years ago when there was a 3ish quake around here. I was sitting on my bed reading, and then it started to shake lightly. The windows started to rattle as well. Just thought to myself "well this is odd" and then it was over. The window rattling actually didn't phase me at first, as buses going by the house would cause the same affect. It was when it kept going that I took notice.
  19. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and shouldn't be persecuted for it. I personally believe my steak should moo when I cut into it.
  20. Sounds like pissing into the wind to me. How does someone expect to make such a drastic change affecting so many people? It'd be like making the campus one religion, one skin colour, one nationality, one choice of music, etc etc. It's just arrogant to think that a petition could get thousands of people to act and think alike.
  21. I'm not familiar with Yahoo! Answers, but is it un-moderated? Or even semi un-moderated? The Internet is a breeding ground for people to slander each other anonymously. It gets worse on sites that are fairly un-moderated. For instance skim through the comments on some Youtube videos to see what I mean.
  22. Only a month away. Finally it's starting to feel like spring.
  23. If you have to preface your questin with "Please don't kill me ...", then you really shouldn't be asking the question. Just be patient. The event is months away. It's hardly critical that we know the exact details right at this minute.
  24. Lucky bastard. Predator does a pretty good job at rearranging your spine.
  25. Sometimes when I'm in the mood, yes. But never on a roller coaster.
