  1. The coaster enthusiast in me is horrified about losing a classic wooden coaster. The desk jockey in me is horrified to imagine my cubicle burning down.
  2. ^ I have no problem with it. Setting a minimum ensures that they get only serious bidders. Without the minimum they'd have all sorts of teenagers and lowballers bidding $10 or something.
  3. The power toy? It's not a program in the start menu. It gets added to the properties menu. So highlight one or more files, right click, and there should be a "resize images" option.
  4. ^ They've been doing this for years, and really it makes little difference. At least the times I've used the resort ERT it's been pretty good. A hanful of Joe Cool members can't make that much of a difference.
  5. ^ "We're sorry, that video is no longer available"
  6. I don't see it as that big of a deal. Keeps the low ballers out. When I first read about the auction I figured if I bid, I'd bid $100 anyways. So it's no big deal to me. $100 really isn't all that much for someone working full time. That's like a days wage for me.
  7. They should put the DJ booth on the midway, as that's where the majority of the line is going to be. I'm thinking I might sign up for that charity auction. At least to see what the bids are like. $100 isn't a big deal, and it's for charity.
  8. This has been out for awhile. There's websites out there which have posted all the most interesting pictures. Like a guy walking out of a strip club, a guy getting busted by the cops, sun bathing women with guys checking them out, and a guy peeing on a sign. There's all sorts of easter eggs you can find.
  9. 1. It's a holiday. Lines will probably be longer then normal, but not as long as the big summer holidays. 2. No. I've never seen it break down. Pysclone and Sledge Hammer I have seen break down quite a bit. 4. No. Drop Zone is your typical 2nd gen Intamin free fall. Nothing special. 5. No. You must have a child to ride Taxi Jam. Unless you plan on stealing a kid, you won't be getting that credit. (I only got it this past summer with my niece)
  10. Nastiest fast food chain out there. That's what makes it so good. Plus they tend to be in really, really sketchy areas.
  11. But only a Canadian would get that. Almost every non-Canadian that watches the video would go "What song is that??". It seems like he's looking for songs about/involving Canada. Not songs by Canadian artists.
  12. No offense, but how can you suggest going to one of two parks when you haven't even been to both? Ok, you like Dorney. That's fine. But if someone is looking for a comparison of the two, how is that helping?
  13. ^ GASM better then Laser? Really? Did you just not like Laser that much? Just curious, as I'd put GASM probably in my top5 most painful rides.
  14. The "extra ticket for someone to watch" sounded funny. I assume that means that you get a free guest admission for the night. Sounds kind of odd the way they worded it. "Bring someone along so that they can stand and watch as you have fun, while they get left out".
  15. Well there's the song "Blame Canada" from the South Park movie. I never really thought it made a good choice for a video though.
  16. Just like they were done with them after TTD's many problems? And Wicked Twisters modifications following stress fractures in the track? Or MFs techical problems?
  17. Maverick is already next to Mean Streak. (which is pretty much like Farenheit)
  18. I didn't really think much of Dorney. None of the rides really stood out to me. Even Talon I thought was a bit tame. The waterpark however was awesome. I'd say GADV easily unless you're desperate for a new park.
  19. That's been true ever since the ride was built. Year after year Raptor has always had an awesome crew. Personally though I've found the employees to be fairly average other then Raptor. Not bad, but not great either. And I didn't really notice much of a difference this year. All my visits the last few years have been about the same. Although I also rarely go during the busy season.
  20. The whole "SFMM/CP" debate has been going on for years. But the one point which keeps coming up is that only enthusiasts really consider the parks to be competing with each other. The two parks are thousands of miles apart, and have completely different target markets. SFMM might pick up a bit more of the crowd going to California for vacation, but that's about it. Neither park draws from a common population pool. They could call each park the best coaster park, and their guests wouldn't know or care if that wasn't techically true. It's more likely to compare SFMM to Knotts, Disney, etc, and CP to KI,SFGAM, SFGAdv,etc.
  21. Case in point this part of the article: Sure, by the summer they'll have the same number. But when you take a closer look at the details involved it's not even close.
  22. ^ Then just make the transition into and out of 90* real gradual. As with a roller coaster, the bigger, faster, steeper, the longer the transitions are. I don't really see a problem with a 90* drop as long as they make it gradual enough to prevent people from slamming head first into the top of the tube.
  23. So we "shouldn't" get confused? What if we did before?? The images on the coins I barely noticed. What threw me for a loop was the random sizes. In North America we are used to a very specific coin size. For the most part the bigger the coin, the bigger the value. In the UK it almost seems backwards. I quite often found myself totally confused as to how much change I had. (with the exceptin of the pound and two pound). Many times I'd be buying something, and trying to figure out how much I had in change. Eventually I'd give up, say "screw it!!" and pull out a nicely labeled bill.
  24. I've been to Canadas Wonderland and Valleyfair during rain, and all rides have ran in the rain. (except when lightning approached). I'd gues that the over the top rain policy is restricted to Cedar Point.
  25. ^ I think you're nuts for considering so much driving. Nashville to Buffalo is quite a haul. Not too mention a 5-6 hour drive from Toronto to Sandusky overnight.
