  1. Two years ago now I think? Summer 2005 I believe. Considering how much I despise G-trains, I doubt I would like the new SoB much better. The helix isn't even the part that bothered me the most on Beast. I found it to have a real weird stuttering shuffle through most of the flat parts. Where it would just kind of lurch, stop, lurch, stop, etc. My back took a pounding on it. Vortex along with GASM is the perfect example of how far engineering has come in the last decade. My head/neck just hurts looking at pictures of the ride.
  2. I don't think "awkward" is the word I'd use to describe a needle crunching through cartilage in the roof of your mouth. ^ That does make sense. I can just imagine what the doctors did to my arm to re-locate my collar bone after I dislocated it.
  3. As long as you don't mind having the rock hard seat back slammed into your back over and over and over again. It's all personal opinion I understand, but I consider Beast, Son of Beast, and Vortex at KI to be three of the most painful rides I've ever ridden. And I consider myself to be a glutton for punishment when it comes to coasters.
  4. Yeah, I've always had a really high pain threshold. Stuff like that doesn't really bother me. Actually, I think I found getting regular teeth pulled to be worse. (the needle through the roof of your mouth is KILLEr). I was fully awake for the wisdom teeth, but I was still drugged up really good. Anything less then that would be torture.
  5. Do you have enough time to do both?
  6. I had all 4 of mine pulled. And due to having a small jaw all 4 of them were flipped 90 degrees forward, so the tops of the teeth were facing directly forward. They were all impacted, with my 12 year molars half impacted. So they had to cut the gums back, crack em in half, and pull them out piece by piece. I had it done in the dentist office instead of the hospital. Which meant no anesthesia. So I was awake for the entire operation. I was given some pretty powerful medication, but I was still conscious. I mostly just remember having a towel over my eyes, and a nurse holding my hand the whole time. My recovery though really wasn't too painful at all oddly enough.
  7. I've been on the Sunday of opening weekend with little to no crowds. Though if you feel like braving season pass preview, do yourself a favor and process your season pass a couple weeks before the park opens. If you plan on getting your pass processed on preview night, that line will be longer then Behemoth's.
  8. How is it 5? I thought you only physically have four wisdom teeth? I had all four of mine pulled, and they were as bad as they could be. But really it wasn't too bad. I was awake for the whole operation though which really sucked.
  9. I guess that's just a bi-product of your "super size me" lifestyle down in the US. Everything is "bigger" in the US. Your cars, roller coasters, egos, and stomachs.
  10. First, but probably not a second ride. I'm guessing 2-3 hour line for it. I've always found SPP to be busier then it's worth.
  11. That's definetly unfair. I always had one of the strongest efforts in gym class, which would get me mid 70s/80s. But I was no where near being a decent athlete. There was always more talented guys who would be really surprised when they found out I was doing better in the class then they were.
  12. Squash & racquetball. I sucked at Squash though. I found that small black ball impossible to hit. I did better at racquetball though. Well other then when I took a shot right in the side of the head. One second I'm fine, the next everything is spinning and my nose is bleeding.
  13. I had that in grade 12. I did bowling, squash, curling, football, etc. In grade9 there was a Vietnamese kid in my class that almost drowned. He had to get rescued by the lifeguard when he tried going in the deep end. He probably made it about 40 feet at least before having to be rescued. Though we was skin and bone, so he probably floated that far. If he had more weight on him he would have sunk like a stone.
  14. I guess you have a real short memory? http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42149
  15. And that's different from the other pics how?
  16. Yeah, you really don't want people copying others by safely sealing their belongings in zippered pockets.
  17. One of my co-workers recently dislocated her shoulder while folding laundry. She leaned over to pick up something whilch fell on the floor, and pop out it went.
  18. I doubt the airport has much to do with that. It's a family park, no need to build large rides.
  19. That's the one thing I always listen for while in line. If the launch area suddenly goes quiet, that tips you off that the ride just broke down.
  20. It's not a "theory". The ride ops control the repeat of "arms down". It's not a co-incidence that you only hear it repeated if someone still has their arms up.
  21. Isn't being good enough to broadcast on PBS kind of like being good enough to win gold at the special Olympics?
  22. ^ That guy's painful to listen to. I watched his whole show last time, so I saved myself the 10 minutes this time. I love how he pretends to talk to a weather person at the start of his shows, but just plays a video clip from the weather network website.
  23. I counted at least 7 CF parks in his list. He'd sure be stupid NOT to have a platinum pass.
  24. I can't vouch for the quality of Castaway Bay. However you'll probably just need to decide if the extra money is worth it to you. You're probably going to find a big difference in price between it and Breakers Express or something. For the packages I've always found it cheaper to go that route. At least in my case. It's just a matter of doing the number crunching on your own. Write down how much the room will cost with and without a package. Then figure out how much extra you'll need to spend on admission, parking, etc depending on your group size, season passes, etc. Once you figure out how much each scenario costs, pick the cheaper one. Whenever I've gone with 3 friends who don't have season passes, the packages have ended up being cheaper.
  25. Nostradamus wasn't really a fraud. It's the people who interpret his "predictions" that are frauds. You need to realize that Nostradamus never made predictions like. "The world is going to end in 2012" or "On 9/11/2001 two planes are going to crash into WTC". His writings were complete gibberish. (partly to avoid being caught up in a witch hunt). His "predictions" are so vague and misleading that you could find any number of matches in history. Hindsight is 20/20.
