  1. That would definitely be an incentive for me to make sure I have whatever pass qualifies me for it, as long as I thought I'd be likely to visit on days it's offered (and if it's truly worth it considering the rides open and the number of people taking advantage). But since it's open to all passholders, I guess I'm already golden (although my pass is of a non-metallic variety).
  2. I did this for my job last Christmas (except we sent the kids cringeworthy poems from the Internet instead of personal notes). Let me tell you, some of the letters we got were heart-meltingly adorable. I wasn't wowed by Pilgiraffica. I remember being intrigued and excited when I first heard about it, though.
  3. No, not Bob!!! #SaveBob Ok, I just really like that there is a coaster in the world named Bob.
  4. Really glad to hear this (assuming it doesn't change in some undesirable way). This seemed to be the least praised of the pre-fabs, but still sounded awesome and worth seeking out.
  5. I kind of...can't at the moment (big surprise), but about three years ago via some computer monitor hookup sorcery. Yes, it was a theme park video. Yes, I made myself a digital copy and a DVD. When was the last time you owned any kind of cassette player?
  6. Some small changes due to visiting new parks: Disney: Tokyo Disneysea > Tokyo Disneyland > Disneyland > DCA Universal: Universal Studios Japan > Universal Studios Florida > Universal Studios Islands of Adventure
  7. They have so many coasters that I don't think I've ever really stopped to think much about their flat ride collection, other than that weird Huss Jump 2 thingy--glad to hear the park is so well-rounded.
  8. This is very good to know (if indeed currently true). And, Zach, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who will consider using public transit to get to parks.
  9. I'm kind of glad that feelings about the actual coaster are moving back in a positive direction; I'm disappointed that the ride will be on the smaller side, but still happy for a new wooden coaster. The marketing, though...yeah, others have covered it. I approve of fire effects on coasters, though! Still having trouble wrapping my head around it really being named Wicker Man. But I think I approve.
  10. Ladybug Coaster
  11. I definitely wouldn't mind visiting this park, especially since I've never found Hopkins loopers to be quite as bad as their reputations suggest. I never realized it's open year-round, though, which is good to know.
  12. First thought: this is exciting! Followup thought: this announcement is anticlimactic. Upon review of the posts here: this seems to be a positive change. I rode Timber Wolf in 2010, when it suffered a poor reputation, but I enjoyed it enough that it's still in like my top 30 woodies based on those rides. It sounds like the ride has changed a good deal since then; it'll be interesting to hear about how this improves the experience.
  13. I always, always brush those surveys aside. Might be rethinking that in the future.
  14. I was sorta thinking about how lucky you were that you squeaked in a ride last year, but I guess I forgot that you hadn't ridden it. I guess we're in the same (Valhalla) boat, except I haven't been to Blackpool at all.
  15. Liking the name. Yippee? Yippay? Yip? Don't even care. And, while the color scheme isn't my #1 favorite or anything, it's cheery and eye-catching. Nice little layout for a family launch coaster.
  16. “Divine Horseman” - The Flesh Eaters
  17. Gutted. I can't think of a time I've been hit harder by a closure. I still remember squirming the last time there was a rumor of this happening, but the ride had ultimately seemed safe based on the final commentary to come out at that time. On a purely personal level, at least I never had any rock-solid plans to visit the park that I'd previously cancelled, and I've gotten to do plenty of cool trips that I would've had to sacrifice in order to do a UK trip during a similar timeframe. And I wouldn't have visited recently following the Icon announcement, since I'd for sure rather wait until that's open. Trade-offs, always.
  18. I work for USPS. Yup, now y'all have someone you can officially blame... FUN FACT: mail trucks just like these are used by the United States Postal Service to deliver mail!
  19. So thankful I got to experience the dark rides and walk-throughs they had in 2011! Even though Jersey Junkyard was the worst of the bunch by far, it was all part of the Wildwood experience. That one Egyptian-themed(?) walk-through, which I always forget whether it's still there, was surprisingly average-good, too.
  20. I feel like I like this park "sentimentally" a bit more so than I did when I visited (no, not just because it closed). It felt like a B+ park in comparison to some of the other places in Japan--of course there's Disney, but my favorite comparable park to Space World is easily Mitsui Greenland. But, man, I have some fond memories from my two stops there, and it's a shame to see such a fun, quirky park go the way of the dodo.
  21. ^^Ahem. That photo is very...well, let's just say I'm excited.
  22. I'll be the one to call it a trick question and say he posted them in order.
