  1. I could think of several rides with horrible theme, simply because they don't have any. But worst coaster that has theme IMO, would be Medusa @ SFDK. It has a small, lame greek theme. Worst coaster without any theme is Scream @ SFMM. It already has none, plus it's right over a parking lot. And you can still see parking spaces. And the only thing seperating Scream and the normal parking is a small old fence
  2. Nice Trip Report. Those restraints on Indiana Jones don't look too comfortable...
  3. Yeah, those trains look really cool. Can't get any better than MF's! They'll just...fly on the track.
  4. This looks so nice and smooth and perfect. It couldn't look any better! Definately one of the best, if not the best, hyper coasters IMO. I can't wait to read the reviews on this!
  5. hehe, Howler? (YES, HW DOES HAVE A STEEL COASTER)
  6. Michigan's Adventure would be closest but I'm sure you've already been there. Then if you're willing to make the 5+ hour drive, there's Kings Island in southern Ohio, Canada's Wonderland in Ontario, Dorney Park in Allentown PA, Valleyfair in Minnesota, and Kings Dominion in Richmond. All great parks and would be worth the drive.
  7. Silver Bullet @ Knott's, 7 times.
  8. I'd take away Valleyfair. It's still a good park, but nothing compared to the other two. Then, it really depends on what you want to ride. Holiday World is a great park, but not many coasters, even though they're all good. SFOT is also a good park, with a lot of coasters, some very good, but not as good as one at Holiday World
  9. I'm from Southern California. My true homeparks would be Castle Amusement Park or Scandia, my closest big parks are Knott's and Disneyland, but I kinda treat SFMM as my homepark even though it's around 2 hours from me. I still go there the most and it is my favorite amusement park out of the 23 I've been to.
  10. Giant Dipper @ SCBB. It's a really fun little tunnel. It even goes kinda fast and is a little long. That alone is probably better than Space Mountain!
  11. This should be interesting, to hear something from them. Maybe SF has finally decided to do something. Clean the park up? Add new ride? Sell it? Re-theme? I think #3 would be the best idea
  12. Crowds will be extremely empty at both parks. It would be good to have a seperate day for each though. You only need a couple hours for Santa Cruz, but at least half a day for SFDK + the shows and animals which will make it a full day. If you're only interested in riding the coasters at both parks, you can do Santa Cruz in 30 minutes-1 hour, then drive to SFDK and do their coasters in...3 hours max. I'd say. But the shows @ SFDK are pretty good, and most of them are only open earlier in the day. So maybe you could do SFDK first, then drive to Santa Cruz and do that at night.
  13. I'm surprised Knoebels removed this/is removing this. Now they won't have a kiddie coaster, OR a steel coaster. And...I hear it has ejector air...?
  14. HOT! It was over 80 degrees today! I Want Snow
  15. How long have you gone without riding a coaster or going to an amusement park? And probably just counting the last couple years since it'd be hard to remember or you weren't into coasters back then. I started going to amusement parks all the time in the beginning of 2008, so then and on, the longest I've gone was probably in the summer. The last park I'd gone to was SFMM in late July, and I didn't go to another park until I went to SFMM in late September. I'm also kinda going crazy right now. It's only been about 3 weeks since I went to SFDK, but I must go to another park! Just a few more days until Belmont Park and Legoland!
  16. Well, it's official. Looks like I'll be going to Belmont Park and Legoland this weekend for their credits. I'll raise my count to 74! And I think I'll go to Belmont first, so Giant Dipper will be that lucky credit to start the probably-not-so-great 2009 season!
  17. This is very sad. I almost went here when I was Northern California last summer. Now it looks like I'll never get the credit
  18. Oooh, I've been interested in this ever since it showed up on rcdb. It looks so cool. It's a combination of a rocket coaster, and a Maverick style coaster. So many sweet inversions, and an a extreme ride with ejector air! This is going to be the #1 ride in my "coaster wishlist" and the BEST ride of 09' IMO.
  19. I've had a lot of mixed experiences on coasters, and I think I do some kind of average between the two, but it really depends on the coaster. Like Scream @ SFMM. The first couple times I rode it it was great, and very fun. The last couple times I've ridden it, it's been horrible. Too fast, dizzying, rough, uncomfortable...ugh. Scream was my #7 coaster (I think) for a while, but now it's slipped down to about #11. And Batman: The Ride @ SFMM. I had an amazing first ride on it, and ranked it better than Silver Bullet. After a bad ride, it is now down to about #13, and Silver Bullet is at #7. So those are basically two rides, where bad rides on them ruined their rank. Here's the opposite: Tatsu @ SFMM. I'd ridden this two times and they were both #1, A+++++, exrreme, and amazing. I rode it my 3rd time, and got a dizzying, unenjoyable ride that day. But that doesn't ruin it's rank. It's still @ #1 where it's been since I rode it. The same thing has happened with several other rides ranked high on my list. So I think it depends on how bad my ride was, or how I was feeling that day, how the coaster was running, how many good/bad rides I've gotten on it etc.
  20. Looks awesome. I hope the trees grow back!
  21. Aww, this is sad. I really liked the way it was, right in the canyon. Everyone would always watch the huge splash, and it was definately one of the Adventuredomes major rides. Hopefully something decent replaces it. And good thing I got to ride this.
  22. 1. Tatsu @ SFMM. 2. V2: Vertical Velocity @ SFDK. 3. Xcelerator @ KBF. 4. Goliath @ SFMM. 5. Riddler's Revenge @ SFMM. 6. Speed: The Ride @ The Nascar Cafe in Las Vegas 7. Silver Bullet @ KBF. 8. Medusa @ SFDK. 9. Viper @ SFMM. 10. Wicked @ Lagoon.
