  1. Thanks for reminding me how much I loved this quirky little park. I love Challenge of Mondor.
  2. I think we just need to wait and see now. I'm confused. http://www.nj.com/union/index.ssf/2016/09/bowcraft_amusement_park_to_become_apartment_comple.html Bowcraft Amusement Park to become apartment complex on September 30, 2016 at 11:51 AM, updated October 01, 2016 at 11:48 AM SCOTCH PLAINS — The town's planning board unanimously approved a redevelopment plan Monday to turn the current Bowcraft Amusement Park into an apartment and townhouse complex. The 13-acre property will be razed to build 190 apartments and 10 townhouses, with 41 affordable units included, township zoning official Robert LaCosta said. The complex will also include a clubhouse, a pool and play areas for kids. The property developers still need to obtain several approvals from state agencies before they can buy the land and move forward. "I really don't envision them breaking ground until possibly fall of 2017 or spring of 2018," LaCosta said. In an email to customers, Bowcraft denied rumors the park was closing and said it would remain open this season and next season. "Bowcraft is open for the remainder of the 2016 season, and will re-open for the 2017 Season in April of 2017. Also, the property is not sold. The property is owned by the same family since 1995," the email said. The park will also have a haunted attraction "Pantophobia" for October. The amusement park has been a mainstay in Union County since 1940, when World War II veteran Ted Miller opened it as an archery and ski equipment store with a small ski slope. Miller later added an ice rink, mini golf and amusement rides.
  3. Right after they are done converting all the Wacky Worms.
  4. Getting a new coaster with a potentially long queue is much lot better than not getting a new coaster.
  5. I've been hoping for an announcement like this since it was pointed out that Kennywood owned this land
  6. Unfortunately, that is not how it works. It is unlikely that every additional rotation of the turnstiles was the result of a single ticket purchased at $45. Season pass holders making return visits likely accounted for the vast majority of the attendance increase.
  7. http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/news/pleasure-beach-boss-drops-massive-new-ride-hint-1-8152530 Pleasure Beach boss drops massive new ride hint. The tweet posted by Amanda Thomspon Blackpool Pleasure could be about to reveal plans for a new multi-million pound rollercoaster. Thrill seekers have been filled with anticipation since Amanda Thompson posted images of herself on social media outside the headquarters of ride builder Mack. Earlier in the day she had teased followers writing “Sun is out the sky is blue and a big announcement is due.” Images have been posted on internet forums which appear to show two other tweets from Amanda Thompson one of which referred to a ‘double launch coaster’ due to open in 2018. Those posts are no longer on the theme park boss’s account. The announcement could end months of speculation over a new rollercoaster for the park. Earlier this year plans for a huge new ‘launch’ coaster, likely to be built by Mack, were posted on internet forums. At the time fun park bosses were tight-lipped over the plans.
  8. This. But it is semi entertaining that there's a legitimate chance that the best new steel coaster in America next year will be at Casino Pier. And the second best could be 55 miles south in Ocean City, NJ. Only 6 more operating days for Playland Castaway Cove.
  9. I agree but I don't care. It's not a big deal for me. I already have my SF pass, and I'll buying my Cedar Fair Pass soon and also a Dollywood pass. This just gives me a chance to catch up and get to places that have built new coasters over the past 4 years. I'm sure many seasoned enthusiasts will look at it as an opportunity to travel to other areas of the world.
  10. The European Coaster Club has tweeted that Olympia Looping is headed to Hyde Park Winterfest later this year
  11. I love the placement over the lake.
  12. Yom Kippur is a day I have circled on my calendar to attend. I wouldn't circle it if I didn't expect it to be a great day for riding.
  13. The last thing I want to do if I get kidney stones again is to get in a car and travel 30-45 minutes to ride a roller coaster. Although if kidney stones arise again while I'm at a park, I know what to do.
  14. I sort of fall into the 3rd and 4th options. I use it to follow TPR, but only when TPR is on a trip or hosting an event.
  15. Sorry I can't make it this year, BGW always does a good job with Hall-O-Scream
  16. Yes, but from you? Two months ago you said you were going to post pictures of Derren Brown's Ghost Train
  17. Thanks Ryan, I tend to use rcdb.com as an official source. Keep me in the loop, I'm too lazy to remove it from the list right now. When I saw you post in this thread I thought is was going to be a laughable comment about the other "planned" Houston parks.
  18. It is gone for good. It was eliminated a few months ago. You are correct, it is not serious.
  19. It's a race to see what happens first. Legoland Korea is still the favorite to beat American Dream How does American Dream stack up against the dirt down the road that is Universal Studios Korea? Parts of the complex, such as indoor ski slope, were completed over a decade ago. Definitely past the dirt stage.
  20. SkyWarp sounds better than SuperDuper Loop, which is what I will call it. Reminds me too much of Larson's Super Loop
  21. I haven't heard too many complaints about any of the Gertslauer's Infinity Coaster, except maybe Smiler
  22. I know you are going defend the place. It's good that Great White is running like new, but I'm not driving 2 hours to ride it when El Toro is only 50 minutes away. You have a lot more faith in Nor'Easter than I do. I'll return when they build that new woodie.
  23. Full PTR please!
