  1. I guaran-damn-tee that the number of people that show up will be greater than zero.
  2. Wow! $7.5 Million is a huge investment for Dutch Wonderland

(AP) — A Pennsylvania amusement park near Lake Erie plans to include a history less about a key battle in the War of 1812 in a planned expansion of its water park. The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/2dSoYQ2 ) says Waldameer Park & Water World will include historical references in the multi-million-dollar "The Battle of Lake Erie" project. Paul Nelson, CEO of the family-owned park in Millcreek Township, says the attraction should be open by late May. It will include 102 water attractions and seven slides, among other features. The new feature is being built on vacant land between the park's wave pool and the Kidz Zone, a special water area for younger children. The Battle of Lake Erie, in September 1813, helped the United States seize control of the lake from the British.
  4. Why wouldn't I hope for it? Hope and expectations are not the same. I guess I'll have to settle for this!
  5. ^Agreed, the fact that is not just lapbars is why I rarely ride Kingda Ka, yet I'll always ride Top Thrill Dragster when I visit CP.
  6. Because Six Flags. Because a coaster that doesn't make turns shouldn't need the vest restraints.
  7. Fixed that for you. I've been on five other Whips (Kennywood, Idlewild, Knoebels, Dorney, Camden), all of the classic Mangels variety, and Hershey's is simply...meh? Camden is far superior to all the others you have ridden. Only Camden and Rye Playland run the Whip as it was intended to run.
  8. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Santa-Cruz-Beach-Boardwalk-two-new-rides-9983930.php Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk petitioning to add two new rides By Katie Dowd Published 1:37 pm, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 The skyline of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk will be changing if amusement park officials have their plans approved. The amusement park is trying to add two new rides to the boardwalk, one called Shockwave and another called Typhoon. Their plan goes in front of the Santa Cruz City Council on Thursday. The two rides are quite visually striking, clocking in at 65 feet tall for Shockwave and 60 feet for Typhoon. For comparison, the Giant Dipper is 70 feet tall. Typhoon may be a familiar concept to boardwalk aficionados. Santa Cruz had a previous version of the ride (also called Typhoon) that was removed in 2009. The ride, a midway classic, has two arms that swing riders around in a loop. Shockwave, which would be built on top of a new gaming and retail space, will spin up to 24 riders around in circles on a track.
  9. Cedar Fair did not kill Geauga Lake
  10. Here's the deal. Most enthusiasts liked Big Dipper but did not heap world's of praise upon it. It was an OK. old, classic coaster but nothing more. After Geauga Lake closed many people came out of the wood work and started complaining and that is understandable. However, it has been 10 years. People need to get over it. Time to let it go. Sure the people in the Cleveland area feel they get cheated all the time, but now that LeBron brought a title to the sports world the hope was me was that locals would let the issue go. But I guess it is not to be. I get it some people were upset when the park closed. However, ten years of complaining isn't going to change a thing.
  11. This thread doesn't need any additional humor.
  12. My favorite post The big 4 person boycott to cause CF to loose millions
  13. You think predicting events at an amusement will get you laid? If this is true for you, hide the women you care about from TPR.
  14. The same vocal encouragement at three different parks sounds more like a corporate suggestion than a coincidence.
  15. Assuming this project is similar to Twisted Colossus and 8 month project, having it open for opening day is a tight window, especially with harsh Lake Erie winters. Since all we hear is negative comments when a coaster is delayed, maybe the announcement is being held off until January/February when it can be assessed how RMC is battling the weather.
  16. All SF parks and personnel are not created equal. It is ignorant to think all Six Flags parks deliver the same experience! I have had few complaints with SFGAdv this season.
  17. Not everyone who studied marketing has heard of this. What?? Where did all this come from?? Why do you think just because they are RMCing Mean Streak, suddenly this means they are getting a new Dark Ride, and relocating the train station?? That's a bit of a reach don't you think?? It came from his mind, it is a guess, not a prediction. Cedar Fair did mention after Iron Reef and Guardian Mountain that dark ride could be coming to major CF parks. As far as where it would go in the park who knows. I don't see the value in or the clues leading to a train station move.
  18. That's a far cry from your stance no more than a week ago when everyone arguing 2017 was being ridiculous, or whatever term you used. Glad to see Larrygator bring the thread to order, he's been one of my favorite posters since the TPCritic days." Opinions are allowed to evolve. Mossed - sorry, I don't remember you from TPC, did you have a different screen name?
  19. As I just taught my 7th graders last month. Saving less money means, you pay more money. Paying more money is NOT a benefit.
  20. No you all need to stop. If you don't wish to participate then don't participate. But STOP with the comments that add nothing to the conversation except your dislike of post or thread.
  21. I was going to lock this, but I'll keep it open for a time to see if it keeps this crappy discussion out of the Cedar Point thread. Please keep the comment and avoid the immature behavior and name calling.
  22. Lines were longer than I anticipated by 12:30, so I left the park after power riding El Toro to start the day and one ride on Zumanjaro. Walked to the other side of the park expecting short lines and to check out the Waffle de Lys installation in MovieTown. The lines at SkyScreamer and Joker were what I expected but the Nitro line was beyond that wall (and operations looked to be slow.) Batman line was out through the tunnel and was also slow moving. So I grabbed a Beef Quesadilla from the Macho Nacho (less than a 5 minute wait) in MoiveTown and headed out by 1PM.
  23. Silverwood easily has better reliability with their GIB than any Six Flags park ever had.
  24. Kyle- Welcome to Henry's World. He views things differently.
