  1. They are also good when traveling through the Arctic Sea with people you don't know very well and your breathe stinks.
  2. Sorry to hear the fried clams were just decent. I always recommend that place even though it is expensive because I like when parks serve local food and the clams were fresh both times I bought them.
  3. Anyone building a new B&M Flyer needs to ride Tatsu and Starry Sky Ripper and tell B&M to top these if they want the contract.
  4. I have been keeping this updated on a regular basis as European parks and smaller parks announced their plans or proof is uncovered
  5. Especially when you have put in writing that you are aware of the rule and acknowledge that your actions are against the rules.
  6. Yes, that is exactly what happened. I just approved the edited post.
  7. The Drive Thru Safari was a big deal when the park opened in 1974. The big cats were a major draw.
  8. This is even better than Knoebels typical Buy One Get One Free because I can use both wristbands, no need to share with phony friends and annoying family. Unfortunately, I can't make it.
  9. The three domestic road trip ideas I am considering are as follows: East Coast Kings Dominion BGW Carowinds SFoG Dollywood (and surroundings) Beech Bend Kentucky Kingdom Holiday World Kings Island Cedar Point Knoebels California (North and South) SFDK SCBB CGA Universal Hollywood SFMM KBF Disney Chicagoland Mini-Trip SFGAm Indiana Beach Bay Beach
  10. Fixed. Depends on if one bathes regularly.
  11. It could still open this year. Posted today on Facebook. I expect to be in South Jersey the next three weekends, so I'm being hopeful.
  12. Ocean City is the nicest of the Jersey shore towns that have amusement parks. Families tend to stay for a few days to a week. A little more exclusive than the other places. Wildwood (Morey Piers) is next. Many families have been returning to Wildwood for generations, whether it be for week long trips or the whole summer. Definitely has the most retro vibe. Seaside Heights (Casino Pier) is party central of the shore towns. The percentage of families that stay over night has dwindled significantly over the decades. More clubs/bars than the other towns. The town receives a lot of day trippers. Point Pleasant (Jenkinson's) is pretty laid back. Mostly day trippers as families or people visiting from other nearby shore towns Keansburg tends to draw a lower economic status crowd. The town has less accomodations than the other and is a bit run down.
  13. You tried it... Anyways, this is kind of similar to how some parks are converting their OTSR to the vest style ones, like on i305, maverick, stormrunner & etc. So it's a possibility that in the near future all slcs can receive some kind of upgrade, such as all of the premier launch coasters receiving lap bars. Is my question still stupid? Lol Your original question referred to a rebuilt Great Nor'easter, no I have not ridden it, as it doesn't exist. That is why I said your question is stupid, why I think someone would need to ride it before making a statement that it needs to be rolled out to other park. If you are asking about the conversion from the old OTSR to the vest style ones that occurred a few years ago. That lessened the pain on the ride marginally. I had no desire to ride it again after trying it out.
  14. Somebody needs to do something. I'm sorry but this is a stupid question, considering we don't know what the treatment is and what the result will be. Hey, I have an idea! Let's put an inversion on every wooden coaster because it happened to "Hades".
  15. Wow, just wow! I wish I could say USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION, but you didn't even see and read the first post on this page.
  16. rcdb is saying it is a custom Gerstlauer Infinity model, but I also have not found a confirmation.
  17. I'd be excited if the money was going toward the oft delayed GCI.
  18. Crossbow has been on the market for years. This decision makes me wonder if the actually recently sold it and then decided to move on to the park sale.
  19. 4-across It's Fuji-Q, they will reduce capacity turning it into one seat per row.
  20. The land under that park is too valuable. I'm surprised they held out from selling for this long. It's been a couple of years since I've been there, but Bowcraft did serve great pizza.
  21. As the expression goes: Penny Wise, Pound Foolish
  22. I think you are on the right track, ride/coaster enthusiasts don't go to Epcot in droves but pretty much every major enthusiast has been there once. I make fun of EPCOT, referring to it as a shopping mall although I also enjoy certain aspects of it, especially the food. Personally, I just think a lot of enthusiasts who are willing to complete the GTA survey are most concerned about maximizing ride time, and sitting at a great restaurant at EPCOT is counter to this strategy. Also, many enthusiasts try to stretch their travel budget, they tend to look at airfare and park admission as the cost of entry into this hobby, but sometimes try to skimp on lodging and food. This is clear just reading the threads here.
  23. This level of civil banter is far superior and more entertaining than the cesspool of complaints and pile-ons that occurs in other threads.
  24. For the most part I agree, but only if the proper trains are run on the coaster. Seems to be an aspect that was forgotten for a few decades.
