Energylandia Park Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I am not seeing anything on Energylandia's Facebook page (as reported on rcdb) about a coaster. Maybe I wasn't on the official page or the post wasn't on the official page. If someone finds the Facebook post please link it and/or post a screenshot. Doing a more extensive online search, I could find no reference to a new coaster in 2017, only a article about a new hotel. -
Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
He started it, BUT YOU ARE CONTINUING IT! You made a stupid comment saying it appears to be a Disk'O, when you knew full well that's exactly what is was. Parkjunkie then called you out on it, tagging on the Robb's comment about idiots making foolish posts, and you escalated it with name calling. Sorry if you say something stupid or foolish we have no trouble if another poster calls you out on it using words like stupid, dumb, idiot. Deal with it, we all say stupid things every once in awhile. And sometimes the teasing about those comments last a long time. So you will both cease from responding to each other's posts moving forward. UNDERSTOOD? (that's a rhetorical question) -
I'm not saying I agree with the choice of name, but a lasso is circular and the rides have a circular shape/rotation to them. Personally, I wold have preferred using WW:Flight School for the StarFlyer. As someone recently stated the chain is paying over $3 million annually for the IP, so they might as well maximize the use. Also, DC has to approve each name use. I haven't researched the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, but if the rides use "Lasso of Truth" I would venture that "Lasso of Truth" might be used in the marketing of the movie. Also, even before the movie with the Wonder Woman character, I have noticed girls wearing more Wonder Woman capes/merchandise. Lastly, get ahead of the curve, before someone protests there no no rides named after women.

Jesus couldn't snap these flyers. I managed to snap on them, as well as witnessing one person doing it and many other people getting very close. No you didn't! -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's cool. I just think a lot of the newer enthusiasts forget that it was only a few years ago that Cedar Fair was on the verge of being sold to investors who could have really destroyed the investment models for these parks. Those lowering performing parks that people complain about being ignored today, if the takeover had happened that parks might now be abandoned, not ignored. Parks can not grow if they are not profitable and one thing Cedar Fair is doing well know is making money, but that doesn't mean they need to re-invested it all immediately, as they still have plenty of debt to pay down. -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

This guy at least sees things for what they are! I'll refrain from calling anyone a dickhead today, since I'm not 100% sure this was directed at the moderating team. We don't bash all complaints about CF we bash unreasonable complaints that are repeated constantly in a non- civil manner. -
Just like we did for 2011 - 2016 this thread will serve as a place to house a list of "what's new" for 2017 at major parks and links to the announcements. We encourage you to notify us of any new rides/coasters by posting in this thread. Discussions about individual rides and parks should continue in the appropriate discussion thread through the links in this thread. Rumors will not be included. I don't know about this one but the boomerang at Wiener Prater with just a lap bar if completely pain free. -
Backseat moderating will get you nowhere. And the poster has been on the site for 5 years. And not to belabor the point has was saying that their are Rutgers students who commute to school and live close to SFGAdv. I would counter that is is difficult to hire for positions that need training if these employees will only be working a total of 20-25 days.
