What's new for 2017?
larrygator replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Agree, it has not been announced. However, people usually don't start crazy rumors about kiddie rides, so take it with a grain of salt if you don't believe it. -

Always good to see something different being built in a region, in this case Florida being the region. It should be quite a big deal for the locals who are not traveling enthusiasts. -

I'm a hotel snob and the Days Inn is a decent place to stay. It has won a lot of awards in the chain for being overly clean for a Days Inn. And just for the record I also stayed at the Jasper Days Inn, albeit about 7 years ago, and it was one of the best Days Inn experiences I've had. -

What Ride Have You Ridden the Most?
larrygator replied to Randomman295's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't say for certain, but it has to be El Toro for me. SFGAdv is the park I have visited the most and since El Toro was built I rarely ride any other coaster in the park more than once per visit, but El Toro always gets multiple rides. -

Hey Bill, let's not get all technical or people will question why I'm listed relocated rides/coasters as new. -

Can you point me to someplace where it was confirmed as opening in 2017? I do not follow this project on a regular basis. -

I usually don't keep track of costs but isn't £15 million much higher than any previous GCI coasters? -

There must be a reason Elitch Gardens doesn't have a dedicated discussion thread. Even small parks have one. We create Discussion Threads after people are already talking about the park in TPRs forums. We create discussion threads by pulling together multiple thread where a park is already being discussed. For example even this latest news, nobody bothered to create a new thread to announce or discuss it. For the record I think I have caught up by updating the first page of this thread, but I missed anything major (besides random Chinese projects) let me know -

No, you're just talking to a complete idiot. You'd be better off talking to the wall. Something tells me he may be in the journalism field... which would explain a lot. Certainly not from the old school of journalism, where if you can't verify something you state your source and clearly identify the situation as hearsay or rumor and not fact. -

Henry, you might not have noticed but this whole forum is about sharing your media. -
Maybe not to you, but to most of us this is a serious issue and 100% precision is of the of the utmost importance. Personally I think you need to follow ytterbiumanalyst's method with the truncated cone, but make sure you carry the 2. If you don't carry the 2 it f**ks everything up. Silly me. There's a reason it is 1.21 Gigawatts and not 1.2 Gigawatts! BTW - I was able to pour 4 cups of water into my 2017 Six Flags water bottle. However, a little spilled (I couldn't measure the exact amount of the spill) when I tried to screw on the top and straw, but there was still an air pocket in the semi-spherical lid. In theory you could fit another 4 ounces in that space, but I think it would be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to secure the lid without spilling most of that 4 ounces. So, in summation I'll stand by my non-precise answer of approx. 32 fluid ounces.

Not at this time! Please read how myself and the others moderators have responded to similar requests. Please continue to post news as it occurs and we'll worry about the discussion thread later. -
I don't have a Six Flags sports bottle myself, so I can't do these calculations. Assuming you do, though, here's a handy tool you can use to calculate the volume of a truncated cone: https://rechneronline.de/pi/truncated-cone.php Now if you enter radius 1, radius 2, and height all in inches, you'll get an answer in cubic inches, so you'll need to convert that to fluid ounces: www.convertunits.com/from/fluid+ounces/to/cubic+inches Or you could just take an 8 ounces glass filled with water and keep pouting it into the water bottle until it is full. Estimated the last pour is not a full 8 ounces, estimate those last few ounces. As a math teacher that's what I would do since absolute precision is not vital.

TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index
larrygator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll be honest. If the park is only kiddie rides, I won't add it to the park index. If I get pictures of just a coaster, I won't add it, I want to display multiple rides. As a rule of thumb if there are not at least 5 rides, I don't add the park. -
